  • The projection-type integral imaging system using mirror array is studied at the viewpoint of the aperture ratio of system. The aperture ratio which is determined by the relation of the specifications of the projection lens and the elemental mirrors affects the viewing quality of integral imaging system. This factors play an important role in the system design.

  • A pico-projector is a compact and mobile projector that has an infinite focus. We apply the pico-projector to a projection-type integral imaging system, which can expand the image depth to form multiple central depth planes. In a projection-type integral imaging system, the image flipping problem arises because the expanded elemental images pass through a lens array. To solve this problem, we propose the ray tracing of a pico-projector at a central depth plane and compensate the elemental image using a pixel-mapping process. Experiments to verify the proposed method are performed, and the results are presented.

  • We analyze image visibility of a projection-type integral imaging system without diffuser, in terms of the fill factor, which is determined by the relationship between the exit pupil of the projection system and the size and the focal length of the elemental lens. High fill factor is a requirement for good visibility. Moreover, for psychological reasons, for the same fill factor, better visibility is accomplished using a relatively small elemental lens. In this paper, we study image visibility through basic experiments and results.

  • Feature detection and description are key ingredients of common image processing and computer vision applications. Most existing algorithms focus on robust feature matching under challenging conditions, such as inplane rotations and scale changes. Consequently, they usually fail when the scene is blurred by camera shake or an object's motion. To solve this problem, we propose a new feature description algorithm that is robust to image blur and significantly improves the feature matching performance. The proposed algorithm builds a feature descriptor by considering the integral projection along four angular directions ($0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $135^{\circ}$) and by combining four projection vectors into a single highdimensional vector. Intensive experiment shows that the proposed descriptor outperforms existing descriptors for different types of blur caused by linear motion, nonlinear motion, and defocus. Furthermore, the proposed descriptor is robust to intensity changes and image rotation.

  • In this paper, we propose a curved projection integral imaging system to improve the horizontal and vertical viewing angles. The proposed system can be easily implemented by additional use of a large-aperture convex lens in conventional projection integral imaging. To obtain the simultaneous display of 3D images through real and virtual image fields, we propose a computer-generated pickup method based on ray optics and elemental images, which are synthesized for the proposed system. To show the feasibility of the proposed system, preliminary experiments are carried out. Experimental results indicate that our system improves the viewing angle and displays 3D images simultaneously in real and virtual image fields.

  • In this paper a fst block matching algorithm using integral projection is peoposed to fing the motion vector. In this case we can reduce the computation time greatly. Especially when we apply the integral projection to the OTS method, the averagr ratio of the computational savings is about 4.

  • 본 논문에서는 관심영역(ROI : Region Of Interest) 단위의 적분 프로젝션(Integral Projection) 기반 움직임 추정(ME : Motion Estimation)을 사용한 순차주사화(De-interlacing) 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • This paper deals with a tracking algorithm based on integral projection which tracks moving targets with varying brightness and size. An adaptive windowing technique is employed to reduce the sensitivity of the system to the complex background image and also to reduce the computational load. The threshold value is determined by considering both the size and the threshold value of the brightness intensity of the recognized target obtained in the previous processing step. Window position is estimated by using the information of the velocity and acceleration of the target. And integral projection is applied to find the position of the target in the window accurately. Experimental results show that moving targets with varying brightness and size can be tracked properly in noisy environments.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust background removal integral projection(BRIP) method which can detect close surface targets in coastal environment for IRST. Row pixels of background region from coastal infrared image show similar response. Thus, the proposed BRIP is calculated after horizontal and vertical background estimations and removals are performed sequentially. Finally, surface large targets can be detected using the results of the BRIP. Experimental results on a set of real infrared image sequence show that the proposed method could fully detect ships in every frame.
