The Advertising Effect on A.I. as an Endorser: Focusing on Innovativeness and Anthropomorphism of Consumer (인공지능(A.I.)의 보증인 광고효과 분석: 수용자의 혁신성과 의인화 영향을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify whether the endorser effect similar to humans can be created in advertising campaigns based on the artificial intelligence endorser. In particular, considering the characteristics of artificial intelligence, a research model was presented by convergence of consumer innovativeness and anthropomorphism. The results of the online survey of 244 respondents showed that expertise of the artificial intelligence endorser has a positive effect on both brand attitude and purchase intention, but not for trustworthiness while it has a positive effect on brand attitude. Also, the effect of consumer innovativeness and anthropomorphism on brand attitude and purchase intention for artificial intelligence was found. The endorser effect was expanded to artificial intelligence, which is an intangible object, and the existing theory and research results were combined to re-verify it. Theoretical and practical implications for artificial intelligence-based products and services were presented.

Analysis of Vogue Magazine on Forms of Image Expression and Utilization of Model Poses in Fashion Photos (패션매거진 Vogue의 패션사진에 나타난 이미지 표현형식 및 모델 포즈의 활용유형 분석)

  • The study aims to examine the forms of 'image expression' and utilization of model poses in fashion photos, and to delve into the characteristics and the intents that make certain model poses effective in expressing an image. The study used the fashion photos in the fashion magazine, Vogue, to analyze the different model poses used to express different images. The results are as follows. First, image expression forms in fashion photos were categorized into 'direct product suggestion expression form', 'sensual image expression form', 'sexual image expression form', 'story telling expression form', 'everyday situation expression form', and 'fantastic image expression form'. The different utilization types of model poses were categorized into 'type utilizing intangible elements', 'type utilizing complicated elements', 'type utilizing living organisms', 'type utilizing props', 'type utilizing clothes', 'type utilizing location', 'type utilizing accessories', and 'type utilizing products'. Second, the most common expression form for fashion photos used in advertisements was the 'direct product suggestion expression form', which was followed by the sensual image expression form. The most popular form used in the editorial fashion photos was the direct suggestion product expression form, which was followed by the story telling expression form. Third, the most common model pose type for direct product suggestion form was the 'type utilizing product'. Fourth, 'direct product suggestion expression form' was mostly used in editorial fashion photos. The most common utilization types of model poses were 'type utilizing clothes', 'type utilizing props', and 'type utilizing place'.

Case Study of Design Motifs of National Symbols in Countries Including Korea: Focused on Scarves and Neckties

  • 21st century is the Age of Culture, and a period that is represented by symbolism and imagery. This is no exception for the countries that want to enhance their image in the international community. In order for a country to improve its brand, it has to select a representative emblem, symbols and cultural items. The usual suspects for this are its name, flag, and anthem. Each of these items can elicit different types of symbolism. It can also be used to differentiate the country from others; however, these are not the only sources of symbolism at the country's disposal. Other popular tools include cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, climate, natural environment, and its national character. A country can use these items to associate itself with certain images. The purpose of this study is to find an objective way to effectively boost Korea's brand. This will be done by comparing and contrasting the ways countries including Korea have used their national emblems to enhance their image. Data from each of the countries were collected and analyzed. The results of this study will become empirical evidence in researches aimed to develop fashion designs that use Korea's national emblem as its motif in order to improve its national brand Countries that were used for this research were United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France and Korea, and they were chosen because their national brand rated highly. The items selected for the analysis were scarves and neckties. This was because, compared to other fashion items, it was easier to sort out scarves and neckties that used motifs of national emblems as well as these two items having the highest usage rate of this type of motif. Group of experts looked through a combined total of 370 scarves and ties and they analyzed the following factors in the design: type of motifs, frequency, use of color, methods of expression and images.

A Study on the Yi Mae-Bang's Salpurichum Costume (이매방 살풀이춤[중요무형문화재 제 97호] 복식 연구)

  • It goes without saying that Yi Mae-Bang, as the sole owner of two of the intangible cultural assets including No. 27 Seungmu in 1987 and No. 97 Salpuri Chum, is a top-notch Korean traditional dancer. Moreover, in regards to traditional clothing, he is also known as the only traditional dancer who directly performs on stage as well as analyzes traditional clothing in order to apply them into his own dance performances by designing and producing them to meet his artistic spirit. In order to examine how Yi Mae-Bang's unique and creative stage clothing was developed, and what kind of process it went through to possess its unique style, which draws the attentions of people with its harmony of beauty and dance, this research first examined the change of the composition through the yearly picture data. Before 1984, the composition of the Salpuri Chum clothes changed by putting on 'Jeogori' on the 'Mudong-Bok' without the 'Kweia' (sleeveless), and in 1999 'Mudong-Bok' became widened with the decoration of embroidered hem making it more attractively colorful. after 2000 it became more splendidly adorned by embroidering hem on widened Mudong-Bok and tucking 'Kweja' in the layers which created silhouette like a dress that is seemingly wider and luxuriant than a skirt. One of notable features of Yi Mae-Bang's Salpuri is that its cloth and cuff ribbons are lightly colored in different colors enclosing the tip part. As for the ribbons, it was also changed as time went by from direct-cutting of the cloth just like the A-line of Mudong-Bok to drawing a diagonal line less than 5cm above the ribbon and 8cm below the ribbon so that it takes the form of getting widened as it gets to the lower part, and its length was also elongated in proportion to that of the bottom of Mudong-Bok.

Implementation of Visual Contents on Mandala's Twining Rite (만다라 결연 의식의 시각 콘텐츠 구현)

  • The importance of cultural contents industry is steadily growing owing to the Korean wave etc. and Buddhist cultural contents is a part of the cultural contents. However, the development of Buddhist cultural contents in many ways has left much to be desired. That is because, it is difficult for the public, who is not Buddhist scholar, to understand and take interest in conventional contents on Buddhist books themselves which are digitalized. Also, most contents researches are discussed on the necessity of contents development and just stay in these subjects, but it is insufficient to study a semantic analysis and visualizing contents on Buddhist books. So, in this paper, we analyse mandala's twinning rite in the Buddhist books and implement visual contents on the rite. The mandala is using toohadeokbul in a special way as the abhisinca rite. We analyse concept of the toohadeokbul and implement its visual contents which visualize ideological logic of Buddhism. The implemented contents are able to provide the public with Buddhist cultural experience of the yard. Additional, by trying to visualize descriptive expressions of Buddhist books, this paper could be a precedent for developing visual contents of unlimited data comprised in Buddhist books.

Creating Theatrical Contents Out of Stage Adaptation of Dongrae-yaru (동래야류의 무대적 수용에 의한 연극 콘텐츠 창출)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the possibility of creating new theatrical contents by performance anthropological approach. Today's traditional performing arts are historically descended and developed in the forms of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. Among those, Dongrae-yaru is a traditional mask dance, handed down in Dongrae, Pusan and appointed as the 18th intangible cultural asset. Its performance is carried out in the juxtaposition of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. Korean theatre in the 21st century seems going back to realism after going through post-modern cultural phenomenons. However, the quest for alternative theatre is raised higher than ever. As a part of this strive, this paper asserts the traditional performing arts should be investigated as an alternative and new theatrical form. Among those traditional performing arts, Dongrae-yaru is selected for its well balanced combination of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. The study examines in depth how each element of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk, they are expressed in forms of folk music, refined dance, jest, satire, wit. Its investigation on the stage adaptation provides the possibility for the new style and codification as the new theatre contents.

  • In terms of supply of manpower in the energy industry, domestic universities cannot realistically operate flexibly to meet manpower demand in accordance with various regulations related to the department, and there are only a few independent energy related departments. There are many difficulties in closure, increase and decrease of capacity, and foster convergence. In addition to the limited aspects of human resource development of universities, changes in the energy paradigm, namely: 1) changes in the energy industry from stable supply and energy security to new growth engines and export industries, 2) Revitalization of the energy industry, 3) including diversification of energy sources and the spread of new technologies. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a training program for nurturing new renewable energy specialists to independently develop various high-quality human resources such as intangible and convergent human resources in line with changes in the energy paradigm.

A Study on the Terrain Information Effects in Combat Simulation (전투 시뮬레이션에서의 지형정보효과에 관한 고찰)

  • The past combats depended often on a number of firepower and manpower. However, integrated decision support viewpoint from communications, surveillance, reconnaissance, intelligence and so forth in combats witnessed in the Gulf, the Middle East, and Afghanistan have changed the trends of combat. That is, the force multipliers which many support systems enhance the combat potential of the fighting forces significantly become big issues to win or not in that combat. According to changing recent combat trend, Lanchester's combat model is being challenged to develop keeping pace with the new trend. We approach this paper as mathematical modeling about how the effect of terrain affects in the combat. Terrain information is invisible, but it is necessary to consider for analysis of warfare. Additionally, tangible or intangible elements affecting to attrition coefficients are continuely reflected to the combat model from decision-makers, then it will be a model closer to the reality and very suggestive to the actual world.

  • This study discusses the reasonable point of views and categories that meet legalistic requisitions and reflect academic conceptions concerns. To approach these thesis, the author thought that 'Myeongseung[名勝] as a cultural landscape' is a useful standpoint, and reviewed major focuses of recent discussions on the evaluation of world heritage theoretically. As a result, three kinds of categories for the value-description of Myeongseung are proposed. First category is 'connectional values' which refer to the connectional values between tangible and intangible values. Second category is 'sustainable values' which are about the sustainability of relationships between human and nature(environment). Third category is 'enjoyable values' that concern experiential facet of Myeongseung from the landscape welfare.

The Platform Feature Appearing in Contemporary Architectural Interior Space - Focused on the Interior Design Projects of Rem Koolhaas - (현대 실내건축공간에 나타난 플랫폼적 특성 - 렘 콜하스의 실내공간 프로젝트를 중심으로 -)

  • This study was conducted to determine a 'platform' as a mean of interactions between users in contemporary spatial design and network(web) and to verify the similarity between the platform and space of Rem Koolhaas, one of the leading contemporary architects of our time. A platform, referring to tangible or intangible structures designed for common use in a variety of ways, is activated by the networking effect of participants. Aided by the recent development of the IT industry encompassing computers and smart phones, the concept of platforms is extending to all areas of modern life, in general. In this study, the similarity between architectural space and platforms after reviewing the computer-related platforms, ecological features that refer to virtuous circulation, and various cases applied with platform thinking. Through this process, the platform feature of architectural platforms is defined as the 'open spatial system combined with control and freedom that acts more than one function and facilitates direct/indirect exchanges between users regardless of its type or size'. Establishing the criteria for spatial analysis based on this definition, analysis was conducted on interior design projects that were planned and conducted by Rem Koolhaas after 2000. As a result of this analysis, it was learned that Rem Koolhaas designs space using dual space structures where the extension and mixture of the user group, mixture of various functions defined by users, loose control that induces voluntary participation, community reinforcement, and inducement of accidental events, and opening and closing coexist. In addition, this design approach was found to be a design strategy similar to the concept of platforms that began to be developed in the IT field.
