Teaching and learning between instructor and students and testing for evaluation are progressed remotely in distance education. Current research trends are focused primarily on the distance learning services. Testing to estimate the effectiveness of training is important as lecturing, but it has not been studied much until now. In this paper, we suggest DEIS(Distance Education Invigilation System) for a fair examination. DEIS identify examinees by verifying their real name with I-PIN and comparing the still image of the candidates the software stored on the server and the photos that are registered at the enrollment.

We think that it is important to develop the metadata for educational game. Because they are applicable to game contents, separate learning sources and studying components in the game-based LCMS. But markets of eduainment and educational games are newborn field, so systematic development of metadata is not advanced yet. Therefore in this paper, we first established the design process of educational game metadata, and then according to the rule, we suggested this as a prototype. And we defined the extracted data as metadata for educational game through inspection of an expert group. If these metadata prototype are operated by adopting through standardization stage of public institutes, we can provide the convenience of searching, managing and recycling these metadata to learner, instructor and the developing institute. And we can also expect the prevention of overlapping investment.

Purpose: This study was done to propose the developmental direction of study related to nursing practice education by grasping the trend of study in fundamental and clinical practice. Method: A total of 48 research articles which were published on nursing practice education in Korea from 2002 to 2009 were analyzed with structured analysis forms. Result: Most research was related to clinical practice (n=40). A high percentage of non-experimental research design was related to fundamental practice (75%) and clinical practice (65%). Qualitative research was only used in clinical practice (n=8). Nursing students were predominantly selected as an object of research in fundamental practice (n=6) and clinical practice (n=32). In addition, many of the areas in clinical practice were a general clinical setting without any classification of the specific area. The concepts of research in fundamental practice were related to competency in basic nursing skill and most concepts of research in clinical practice were associated with satisfaction, stress, experience, critical thinking and problem solving ability of the nursing student. Conclusion: There's something to be desired in nursing research related to instructor methods, teaching-learning methods and nursing education programs. Therefore, more specific and continuous research focused on these topics to improve clinical nursing competence of the nursing student is needed.

We adopt a spirit of Problem based learning to the class of Multivariable Calculus in a school of scientifically talented students and observed effects of our teaching-learning method in the Spring Semester of 2010. Twelve students who enrolled in this class participated in this research. We have proceeded with classroom experiment for the half of semester after midterm exam so that the students could compare our teaching-learning method with usual traditional one in the subject of multivariable calculus. Especially, we investigated changes in the learning attitude and cognitive development of the students toward definition and theorem of mathematics. Each group of 4 students worked on a sheet of our well-designed structured problems of several steps in each class and presented how they understood the way of constructing new definition and related theorems. Instructor's role in this research was to guide students' activities as questioner so that students could attain the clear meanings of definitions and theorems by themselves. We firstly analyzed students' process of mathematization of definition through observing their discussions and presentations as well as their achievements in the quizzes and final exams. Secondly, we analyzed students' class-diaries collected at the end of each class in addition to pre/post surveys.

Purpose: This study was to identify adolescents' smoking behavior and the status and need of smoking prevention education for adolescents. Method: The subjects were 375 students selected through convenient sampling from three middle schools and three high schools in Jeonbuk. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey and analyzed using SPSS 10.1. Result: The smoking rate was 20.8% and 83.7% the students experienced smoking prevention education. Students were educated by a special instructor (39.8%) or a health teacher (26.8%). Among the teaching methods, lecture was 69.4%, but some students (30.7%) wanted anti-smoking school. Among the students, 85.0% answered they want smoking prevention education and 46.7% said that it should be covered in regular curriculum. Conclusion: High interest and continuity are emphasized for the success of smoking prevention education. In addition, various teaching methods need to be developed including anti-smoking school, lectures, counselling and long term education program. Moreover, smoking prevention education programs need to be covered in regular curriculum.

We designed and implemented a cooperative learning system using social network service which can be utilized on a smart phone for users to read each other's posting once they upload posting and to give feedback concerning the posting in real time without the need for accessing a relevant website, through the installation of a necessary application which makes it possible for learners to interact at any time in any place on a smart phone. The developed program is used as an intermediate tool for real-time communications so as to aid in solving the task of learners, and it was made to boost academic achievement as well as interest in learning through real-time interactions and feedback. Furthermore, the program was designed in such a way that an instructor actually helps learners by closely identifying their levels based on accumulated data.

군에서는 무기체계인 유형전력 뿐만 아니라 눈에 보이지 않는 무형전력 또한 중요하다. 그중에서도 정신전력도 전투력의 중요 요인으로 이에 대한 효과를 높이기 위해 다양한 연구가 이루어지고 있지만, 계급사회인 군의 특징을 고려한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 정신전력 교관의 계급과 교육 참여자들의 수준이 교육효과에 미치는 영향이 있는지를 통해 정신전력 효과를 제고하는 방안을 모색하게 되었다. 교관의 계급이 높을수록 효과도 높을 것이라는 관념적 생각이 잘못되었음을 입증하였으며, 교육효과에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇보다 교육생들과 직접 접촉하는 교관의 준비상태인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이번 연구에서는 교육에 대한 참여의지와 교육의 중요성 인식이 교육기간 동안 증가할수록 교육의 효과도 증가한다는 결론을 얻었다.

Although more than 15 years have passed since the introductory design courses were opened due to the introduction of engineering education certification in the civil engineering field, these courses have been operated somewhat unsatisfactorily compared to their importance as an introductory course for engineering design. This is partially because the quality of classes is affected by the instructor's individual ability due to the fact that a standard training plan for these courses has not been established so far. Therefore, in this paper, we try to present a reference model for the introductory design course by introducing a class operation case established through continuous improvement process over the last 10 years at Chungbuk National University. This case aims to cultivate students' problem solving and system design skills by carrying out projects to develop egg drop and wood bridge systems based on creative problem solving methodologies. As a result of a questionnaire survey conducted after the class, we found that students' problem solving and system design capabilities were improved significantly and there was a meaningful increase in level of interest and attention in civil engineering by taking this class.

This paper is an overview of key elements of Korea National Open University's smart mobile learning system, and an attempt to evaluate its main services relative to the FRAME model and the Mobile Learning Development Model for distance learning in higher education. KNOU improved its system architecture to one based on xMOOC e-learning content delivery while also upgrading its PC-based online/mobile learning services to facilitate an easier and more convenient access to lectures and for better interactivity. From the users' viewpoint, the upgraded 'U-KNOU Campus' allows for a more integrated search capability coupled with better course recommendations and a customized notification service. Using the new system, the students can access not only the school- and peer-issued messages via online bulletin boards but also share information and pose questions to others including to the school faculty/officials and system administrators. Additionally, a new mobile payment method has been incorporated into the system so that the students can select and pay for additional courses from anywhere. In spite of these advances, the issue of device usability and content development remain; specifically U-KNOU Campus needs to improve its instructor-learner and learner-to-learner interactivity and mobile evaluation interface.

Improving the quality of teaching staff in universities is an important goal of most universities. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the factors affecting the quality improvement of lecturers at universities. There are many factors affecting the improvement of this quality of human resources. This article uses the survey method to assess the factors affecting the improvement of the quality of lecturers in education and training institutions of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam. Currently, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam has 4 educational institutions. The research team has assessed the impact factors at these 4 facilities. The research team conducted a survey for faculty members of the Ministry of Transport. The result was 446 votes. The authors have performed factor evaluation by multivariate regression model. The influencing factors include Professional competence, the virtue of teaching staff, scientific research capacity, participating in building a democratic educational environment, Professional support policy, Instructor's income, and Information technology support. Research results show that most of the factors have a positive impact on improving the quality of lecturers. Based on the survey results, the authors also make policy suggestions to further improve the quality of teaching staff of the schools in the coming time.
