Instruction Design and Satisfaction Analysis of Information Communication Ethics Education for Primary Schools by applying Conjoint Analysis (컨조인트 분석을 적용한 초등학교 정보통신윤리 수업 설계 및 만족도 분석)

  • Recently, as the importance of the information communication ethics education has increased, the research about new instructional method or contents have been progressed actively. On the other hand, due to the advance of e-learning technology, instead of teacher-centered instruction, the development of learning contents and learning method for satisfying students' requirements is proceeded actively. In this paper, in order to increase the learning effect for information communication ethics education for primary school students, we propose a new way to design an instruction which considers the characteristics and the requirements of students. We decompose instructional design features into 4 components such as goal, model, contents, and media, and then we pose questionnaire to the 5th grade students of a primary school. After that, we analyze data by using the conjoint analysis. Based on the result of the conjoint analysis, we give instructions to two classes in order to compare the learning achievement of the two classes. Finally, by evaluating the students and analyzing their satisfaction levels, we diagnose the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine some effects of four menu types: icon menu, icontext menu, pulldown menu, and bar selection menu. Each have been mainly used with hypermedia instruction, learners' metacognition on their errors, menu search time, and scholastic achievements. A further purpose of this paper is suggest some strategies for enabling each learner to select menus more efficiently in order to enhance the learner's own learning effectiveness in hypermedia instruction. There were 100 college students selected as subjects for This study. They had never had experience in Hanoi hypermedia instruction. They were required to use four menu types at random in this experiement. The results of this study are as follows. The menu types had a significant effect on the low metacognition regulation group. Icontext menu types, especially, had a significant effect on achievements. In constrast to this, the menu types did not have any significant effect on the high metacognition regulation group.

  • In mathematics education, teaching-learning activity can be divided largely into the understanding the mathematical concepts, derivation of principles and laws, acquirement of the mathematical abilities. We utilize various media, teaching tools, audio-visual materials, manufacturing materials for understanding mathematical concepts. But sometimes we cannot define or explain correctly the concepts as well as the derivation of principles and laws by these materials. In order to solve the problem we can use the computer. In this paper, character and movement state of various quadratic function graph types can be used. Using the computers is more visible than other educational instruments like blackboards, O.H.Ps., etc. Then, students understand the mathematical concepts and the correct quadratic function graph correctly. Consquently more effective teaching-learning activity can be done. Usage of computers is the best method for improving the mathematical abilities because computers have functions of the immediate reaction, operation, reference and deduction. One of the important characters of mathematics is accuracy, so we use computers for improving mathematical abilities. This paper is about the program focused on the part of "the quadratic function graph", which exists in mathematical curriculum the middle school. When this program is used for students, it is expected the following educational effect. 1, Students will have positive thought by arousing interests of learning because this program is composed of pictures, animations with effectiveness of sound. 2. This program will cause students to form the mathematical concepts correctly. 3. By visualizing the process of drawing the quadratic function graph, students understand the quadratic function graph structually. 4. Through the feedback, the recognition ability of the trigonometric function can be improved. 5. It is possible to change the teacher-centered instruction into the student-centered instruction. For the purpose of increasing the efficiencies and qualities of mathmatics education, we have to seek the various learning-teaching methods. But considering that no computer can replace the teacher′s role, tearchers have to use the CIA program carefully.

  • Small Group Collaborative Instruction in school settings has been endorsed by many educational experts over the years. Some studies found that learners greatly benefit from one another through communication and interaction with their peers. These studies previously indicated improvement of a learner‘s academic ability as well as the application of the affective domain when using this type of instruction. Lower-level students with limited mathematical abilities improved their problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills when tasked to work with other learners. On the other hand, the effectiveness of this process was questioned to be less evident with higher-level performers. Therefore, this study was designed to observe the efficacy of Small Group Collaborative Instruction on higher-level students and to explore their learning process as they interact with and teach lower-level students. This study observed that higher-level students use high-level mathematical thinking skills when helping lower-level students, and they improved problem-solving ability as well as communication skills.

  • Exploitation of instruction-level parallelism(ILP) is an effective mechanism for improving the performance of modern super-scalar and VLIW processors. Various software techniques can be applied to increase ILP. Among these techniques, predicated execution is the one that increases the degree of ILP by allowing instructions from different basic blocks to be converted to a single basic block by removing branch instructions. In this paper, a global predicate-sensitive scheduling algorithm is proposed to improve the performance for ILP processors that support predicated execution. In order to examine the performance of proposed algorithm, a C compiler and a simulator are developed. By simulating various benchmark programs with the compiler and the simulator, the performance results of this algorithm are measured and the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified. As a result of measure performance with I, 2, 4 issue execution, this study was confirmed average performance by 20% or more.

In this paper, ′the process of the length of curve being equal to the sum of the vectors when intervals get smaller′ and ′the process of calculating volume of spinning curve by using definite integral.′ Using the computers is more visible than other educational instruments like blackboards, O.H.Ps., etc. Also it can help students with solving mathematical problems intuitively. Consequently more effective teaching-learning activity can be done. Usage of computers is the best method for improving the mathematical abilities because computers have functions of the immediate reaction, operation, reference and deduction. This paper is about the program focused on the part of "the application of definite integral", which exists in mathematical curriculum the second and third grade of high school. When this study is used for students as assisting materials, it is expected the following educational effect. 1. Students will have precise concepts because they can understand what they learn intuitively. 2. Students will have positive thought by arousing interests of learning because this program is composed of pictures, animations with effectiveness of sound. 3. It is possible to change the teacher-centered instruction into the student-centered instruction. 4. Students will understand the relation between velocity and distance correctly because they can see the process of getting the length of curve by vector through the monitor. For the purpose of increasing the efficiencies and qualities of mathematics education, we have to seek the various learning-teaching methods. But considering that no computer can replace the teacher′s role, teachers have to use the CIA program carefully.

Instructor Beliefs and Attitudes about English Medium Instruction: Report of Questionaire Study (공학 분야에서의 영어 강의(English Medium Instruction)에 대한 기초 연구)

  • The number of schools that implement English medium instruction (EMI) to improve students' English proficiency has been increasing. Despite the increasing popularity of EMI, little attention has been paid to evaluating the effectiveness of EMI and its impact on students and instructors. This study explores these issues, focused on the case of the College of Engineering at Y University. A survey questionnaire was administered to 19 engineering professors who offered EMI courses in the Fall of 2003. The survey results show that: 1) the professors perceive that students' low English proficiency is a large obstacle to successful implementation of EMI, and that pre-EMI language courses are needed to prepare students for EMI. 2)Though the professors expressed confidence in their English proficiency, they indicated that they felt quite a lot stressed at teaching EMI courses; hence, support of the school administration is needed to help faculty offering EMI courses. 3)To improve students' English proficiency, native-speaking language instructors are needed to provide feedback on students' written and spoken English.

The Evaluation of Medical Quality Improvement Activities Through Standardised Intravenous Injection Control Instruction (표준화된 정맥주사 관리 교육을 통한 의료질 향상(QI) 활동 평가)

  • Purpose: This study has been attempted as one of the Quality Improvement activities in order to provide with intravenous injection control and to confirm the evaluation from the patients and their guardians, and also from nurses themselves. Method: The subject of this intravenous injection control was a control group of 239 patients and 176 nurses, a comparison group of 128 patients and 146 nurses. The tool consisted of hospitality (towards patients), explanation, and infection prevention activities. The collected data were analysed using SPSS Windows 11.0 program for percentage, $X^2$-test and t-test. Result: 1) The nurses who were instructed in standardised intravenous injection control received more satisfactory evaluation from the patients(t=-2.89, p=.004) than the nurses who were not. However, in the subdivisions, the explanation field was the only one to receive a more satisfactory evaluation(t=-1.14, p=.255). 2) The nurses who were instructed in standardised intravenous injection control showed higher performances in intravenous injection control (t=-4.21, p=.000) than the nurses who were not. In the subdivisions, hospitality, explanation, and infection prevention activities all showed effectiveness ($t=-2.35{\sim}3.90$, $p=.020{\sim}.000$). Conclusion: From the results stated above, it can be concluded that standardised intravenous injection control instruction for nurses brought out better evaluation, i.e. satisfaction, from the patients and their guardians, and the nurses who received the instruction showed better performances in intravenous injection control.

  • This study has been pointed out that Information Communication Ethics Education has been mentioned only about a cognitive factor. Then the purpose of this study is verify the effects through the Instructional design of Information Communication Ethics that was compensate the problem. To achieve this, it was included all the cognitive, emotional and active factor of Integrated Character by Thomas Lickona. It has been modified that Information Communication Ethics Test of Lee Chae Young(2009) to be included all the factors of Integrated Character to verify the designed instruction. It has been designed that each steps included the component of Integrated Character using Gerlach & Ely systematic instruction model then, the designed instruction has been applied to the secondary school and verified the effectiveness. As a result, it has been proved that Experimental group is more effective than Control group.

  • This paper presents a human friendly system using fuzzy inference as a Part of study to embody intelligent ship. We also build intelligent ship's steering system to take advantage of speech recognition that is a part of the human friendly interface. It can bring an effect such as labor decrement in ship. In order to design the voice instruction based ship's steering gear control system, we build of the voice instruction based learning(VIBL) system based on speech recognition and intelligent learning method at first. Next, we design an quartermaster's operation model by fuzzy inference and construct PC based remote control system. Finally, we applied the unposed control system to the miniature ship and verified its effectiveness.
