A Study on the Current Status and Educational Needs of Low-experienced Teacher Librarians' Instructional Expertise (저경력 사서교사의 전문성 영역에 대한 교육적 요구도 분석)

  • This study reviewed the current status of low-experienced teacher librarians with less than 5 years and attempted to identify their educational needs through IPA analysis, Borich Priority Formula, and The Locus for Focus Model. A survey was conducted on low-experienced teacher librarians with less than 5 years of experience to analyze their process in the pre-service teacher training and experiences before an appointment and to identify teacher librarians instructional expertise. The results of the analysis of the study are as follows. First, there was a statistically significant difference between the importance and performance in all areas of instructional expertise of low-experienced teacher librarians. Second, 'reading education-practice progress' was recognized as a 'Keep up good work' with high importance and satisfaction, and 'library-based instruction planning, progress evaluation', 'information literacy-curriculum design', and 'digital and media literacy education-progress and evaluation' were recognized as areas of 'Concentrate here' through IPA analysis. Third, In the Borich Priority Formula, 'teaching-learning evaluation', 'teaching-learning progress', and 'teaching-learning plan' in the Library based instruction area showed the highest educational needs. Fourth, the library-based instruction was shown to the high discrepancy/high importancy area as same as the Borich Proity Formula. The results of this study can provide implications for improving the instructional expertise of teacher librarians.

A Discourse for the Theory of Adaptive Learning Object Design (적응적 학습객체 설계 이론을 위한 개념적 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to explore the conceptual and theoretical fundamentals of learning object. Learning object, a new paradigm for instructional design in the era of information technology, has attracted much research efforts since it has lots of advantages in terms of production efficiency and use effectiveness. A theory for the systematic design of this new instructional design, however, looks far from mature. Since the birth of the idea of a learning object has been found in the field of computer software design, such as object-oriented software development, learning object does not have enough theoretical underpinnings in terms of learning and instruction. The researcher tried to establish theoretical foundations for this new, alien concept as a learning design theory. Relevant research efforts and discourses have been discussed for this purpose.

  • This study is to find out the possibility of applying the Blended Learning which combines the advantage of face-to-face classroom instruction and e-Learning to design education. This Blended Loaming Model has five steps such as 'prepare, teach, show, interact, and collaborate'. It is designed by the learning decision points (performance outcomes, content stability and structure, audience size, and so on) and the characteristics of delivery methods(asynchronous, synchronous). This research is based on the learners' satisfaction data of each step. The number of the participants is 27 and a questionnaire with 21 items is administered. Ten items of them are designed with 5-point Likert scales and the rest of them ask learners describe the reason of their selection. The result show that learners are satisfied with the blended learning than the off-line classroom. It is expected that the blended learning can be a substitute of the off-line classroom for the effectiveness of design education.

  • The design instruction put in the wood structure construction manual of forest engineering works issued in Japan in 2004 is composed of the introduction, the use and characteristic of wood, investigation, planning, design, and etc. We analyzed planing and construction. By the results, the contents for the design are shown about applied woody conditions and deterioration, structure, selection of tree, the standardization of the size displays in wood, safety and examination of intensity, intensity of wood, the ranges of wood size allowance, and etc. With respect to the construction of wood structure, there are detailed descriptions regarding security of wood quality, confirmation of wood quality by preservative treatment and security methods of function in wood structure, the regular investigation method, the qualitative standard criterion and the quantitative examination method on the deterioration of wood.

A Flexible Programmable Memory BIST for Embedded Single-Port Memory and Dual-Port Memory

  • Programmable memory built-in self-test (PMBIST) is an attractive approach for testing embedded memory. However, the main difficulties of the previous works are the large area overhead and low flexibility. To overcome these problems, a new flexible PMBIST (FPMBIST) architecture that can test both single-port memory and dual-port memory using various test algorithms is proposed. In the FPMBIST, a new instruction set is developed to minimize the FPMBIST area overhead and to maximize the flexibility. In addition, FPMBIST includes a diagnostic scheme that can improve the yield by supporting three types of diagnostic methods for repair and diagnosis. The experiment results show that the proposed FPMBIST has small area overhead despite the fact that it supports various test algorithms, thus having high flexibility.

  • 오늘날과 같은 정보사회와 지식기반 사회에서는 웹기반교육(WBI:Web-Based Instruction)은 학교 교육에 좀 더 나은 학습효과, 신속 제공성, 시공을 초월한 편의성, 저비용 등의 가능성을 제공하고 있다. 따라서 텍스트 위주의 종례의 초등학교 역사 교육에서 탈피하여 역사 관련 정보 공유, 웹토론을 통한 의사교환 등을 초등학교 역사 교육에 적용 분석해 보고자 하였다. 이 논문에서는 웹기반교육의 개념과 유형, 특징을 살펴보고 웹의 장점을 최대한 살린 웹기반 역사 학습 시스템을 설계하고 구축해 보았다. 또한 시스템을 적용 분석하여 향후 웹기반 역사 교육 시스템 구성의 방향을 제시해 보았다.

Design of an ARM9 Compatible 32bit RISC Microprocessor (ARM9 호환 32bit RISC Microprocessor의 설계)

  • In this study, we designed an ARM9 compatible RISC microprocessor using VHDL. The microprocessor was designed to support Harvard architecture with separate instruction cache and data cache. The state machine was optimized for multi-cycle instructions. In addition, a data forwarding mechanism was adopted to reduce the stall cycles due to data hazards. Assembly programs were up-loaded into a ROM block for system-level simulation. Proper operation of the designed microprocessor was confirmed by investigating the contents of the internal registers as well as the RAM block. Futhermore, the simulation results clearly indicated that the operation speed of the processor designed in this study is enhanced by reducing the execution cycles required for multiplication related instructions.

  • Vertex shader of GPU in personal computer is advanced in functions as to be half of traditional fixed T&L functions. And, capacity of memory for saving resources to process instructions is unlimited. GPU that can be programmed by programmer is needed for mobile system as well as personal computer. In this paper, we implement software virtual machine for vertex shader using C++ Language. Our goal is designing hardware GPU that can apply to mobile system. The virtual machine consists of nVidia GPU instructions. Input Data to virtual machine is generated by Microsoft fxc compiler. That is to say, Input Data is compiled shader program written in HLSL, Cg, or ASM. The virtual machine will be a reference model for designing hardware GPU and can be used for Testbed to test added or modified instruction.

  • Modern superscalar processors exploit Instruction Level Parallelism to achieve high performance by speculative techniques such as branch prediction. The indirect branch target prediction is very difficult compared to the prediction of direct branch target and branch direction, since it has dynamically polymorphic target. We present a accurate and hardware-efficient indirect branch target predictor. It can reduce the tags which has to be stored in the Indirect Branch Target Cache without a sacrifice of the prediction accuracy. We implement the proposed scheme on SimpleScalar and show the efficiency running SPEC95 benchmarks.

Effect of the Auriculotherapy on Dysmenorrhea in School-aged Girls (이혈요법이 여학생의 생리통과 월경곤란증에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to identify the effect of auriculotherapy on low abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea in school-aged girls. Methods: This design was a pre and post-test with nonequivalent groups. The subjects were 71 girls who were middle school students with dysmenorrheal (35 students for the treatment group and 36 students for the comparison group). The subjects of the treatment group received auriculotherapy once a week for 10 weeks. The comparison group received instruction on auriculotherapy and was requested waiting for the order. Results: The treatment group reported significantly less low abdominal pain than the comparison group. However, there were not statistical differences in reported dysmenorrhea. In future analysis, 60.0% of the treatment group reported more physical comfort, and 45.7% reported more emotional cool down. Conclusion: The finding indicate that auriculotherapy could be effective in decreasing low abdominal pain during menstrual periods. Therefore, auriculotherapy could be an effective nursing intervention for low abdominal pain occurring during mensuration. However, further studies need to be done to support auriculotherapy as effective.
