Instantaneous Voltage Sag Corrector Using Series Compensator in Transfer Power Line Generator (송전선 직렬보상을 이용한 순시전압강하 보상기)

  • This paper describes the novel control techniques design of VSC(Voltage Sag Corrector) for the purpose of power line quality enhancement. A fast detecting technique of voltage sag is implemented through the detection of instantaneous value on synchronous rotating do-reference frame. The first order digital filter is added in the detection algorithm to protect the insensitive characteristics against the noise. The relationship between the total detection time and cut-off frequency of the filter is described. The size of the capacitor bank used as the energy storage element is designed from the point of view of input/output energy with circuit analysis. Finally, the validity of the proposed scheme is proven through the simulated results.

  • A new non linear, mean value, instantaneous following control technique to design half bridge converter is proposed in witch control principle uses characteristic that reset time of analog integrator is inverse proportion In input voltage. It is Important characteristic that compensation and follow-up control time are same with switching frequency. Is completed in one cycle that base control frequency. Have excellence characteristic that follow in order instruction value exactly stationary state as well as transient state. Half bridge converter that apply this control principle can know that have stabilize and excellence characteristic. This technique is verified through an experiment, and know that experiment result and theory agree well.

  • A reactive power compensator whiych employs a 3-phase voltage source PWM converter is presented and ana lysed in this study. In this study, instantaneous reactive power compensator by the theort of instantaneous real and imaginary power are theoretically studied how to compensate reactive power occured by fundamental and harmonic reactive current. And we showed the compensation characteristic as well as the capacity of condenser.

  • This paper presents the sensorless control method that employs the adaptive back-EMF(Electromotive Force) and current model observer of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM). The estimated back EMF considering a saliency is obtained by using the adaptive control method. The estimated EMF is inputted to the current model observer which is connected in series with adaptive back EMF estimator and is used to estimate the position and speed of the rotor. In order to improve the shortcomings of conventional method using the current error components multiplied in the compensation constant, the modified instantaneous reactive power compensator is applied. The validity of the control system presented is verified by the simulation.

  • In this paper, a VSC(Voltage Sag Corrector) is discussed for the purpose of power quality enhancement. A fast detecting technique of voltage sag is accomplished through the detection of instantaneous value on synchronous reference frame. A robust characteristic against the noise is available by inserting the first order low pass filter in the detection circuit. The formula and the filter design process is described properly with the mathematical equations. Because the VSC system supply the active power to load, it is required to design the proper size of the energy storage system, In this paper, the capacitor bank is used as an energy storage system, and the size of the capacitor is designed from the point of view of input/output energy as the output power rating and the amplitude and duration time of the voltage sag. The simulation is accomplished by PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • This paper proposes a calculation of compensation current using phase shift to eliminate ripple components of instantaneous active power under unbalanced or non-linear loads condition. The proposed phase shift method instead of existing method(LPF; Low Pass Filter) to remove ripple components and this proposed method improves performances of transient and steady state response. To compare proposed method with existing method, experiments have been done for calculating an average active power at load side. Their results show that transient response and steady state response of proposed method is improved.

  • This paper discusses a simple control approach for a Unified Power Conditioner (UPC) system to achieve power quality compensation at the point of common coupling in distribution systems. The proposed Instantaneous Power Estimation Algorithm (IPEA) for shunt and series active power filters uses a simple mathematical concept that reduces the complexity in the design of the controller. The performance of a UPC is verified with a system subjected to voltage distortions, sags/swells and unbalanced loads using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation study shows that a UPC with the proposed control algorithm can effectively compensate for voltage and current harmonics, unbalance and reactive power. The control algorithm is experimentally implemented using dSPACE DS1104 and its effectiveness has been verified.

  • This paper presents a digital calculation method of instantaneous reactive power component for standby power supply(SPS) system. Reactive current is defined in time domain, calculated instantaneously by using a TMS320C25. The theoretical analysis is verified by the digital simulation and experimental results.

  • DSTATCOM(distribution static compensator) is one of the custom power devices, and protects a distribution line from unbalanced and harmonic current caused by non-linear and unbalanced loads. Researches about DSTATCOM are mainly divided two parts, one is the calculation of compensated current and the other part is the current control. This paper proposes a proportional-resonant-repetitive current controller. Improved performance of instantaneous power compensation has been shown by simulations and experiments.
