  • In this paper, Instantaneous voltage control method is proposed to reduce the torque ripple of a switched reluctance motor. This method is based on the sum control of the square of the phase currents in proposed converter. A proposed prototype SRM drive circuit is given and it's operation is analyzed. The experiments and simulations are performed to verify the capability of proposed principle.

  • A new signal processing technique, the directional harmonic wavelet map(dHWM), is presented to characterize the instantaneous planar motion of a measurement point in a structure from its transient complex-valued vibration signal. It is proven that the auto-dHWM essentially tracks the shape and directivity of the instantaneous planar motion, whereas the phase of the cross-dHWM indicates its inclination angle. Finally, the technique is successfully applied to an automobile engine for characterization of its transient motion during crank-on/idline/engine-off.

  • Active power filter is a kind of device used for compensating instantaneous reactive and harmonic current in three-phase circuits. An essential technology that determines the behavior of an active power filter is the method of detecting the distorted current. Using three-dimensional space vectors, this paper describes a simple method for detecting the distorted current without any coordinate transformation. The effectiveness of the novel method is verified by the theoretical analysis and simulation.

  • In this paper, instantaneous reactive power compensation algorithm is proposed and analyzed. The static Var generator developed in this paper is the current source PWM converter using hysteresis comparator method, which compensates the reactive power by detecting each instantaneous phase voltage and line current, independently. Some aspects on the static Var compensator-such as inductance, capacitance, hysteresis width, and switching frequency, etc.-are discussed. The dynamic performances are examined through digital simulation and experimental test.

  • In this paper, an advanced torque control scheme of SRM using DITC(Direct Instantaneous Torque Control) and PWM(pulse width modulation) is investigated. The proposed DITC-PWM regulates a duty ratio of the phase switch according to the torque error and simple control rules of DITC without any hysteresis bandwidth. The proposed control method is verified by the simulations and experimental results.

  • A PWM switching control strategy based on instantaneous integration concept for reducing hamonic components of inverter system with fluctuating input voltage is presented. Applying this strategy to single phase full bridge PWM inverter through bipolor switching method and unipolor switching method, reduction of hamonic components of output voltage and current is demonstrated through simulation. The system operation is examined and confirmed by experiments.

  • Additive noise and channel distortion strongly degrade the performance of speaker verification systems, as it introduces distortion of the features of speech. This distortion causes a mismatch between the training and recognition conditions such that acoustic models trained with clean speech do not model noisy and channel distorted speech accurately. This paper presents a phase-related feature extraction method in order to improve the robustness of the speaker verification systems. The instantaneous frequency is computed from the phase of speech signals and features from the histogram of the instantaneous frequency are obtained. Experimental results show that the proposed technique offers significant improvements over the standard techniques in both clean and adverse testing environments.

  • In this paper, 3-Phase PWM AC/DC step up type converter that reduces the harmonics and reactive power of the distribution line is analyzed and the stable control method is proposed as controlling the sinusoidal phase current and phase voltage in phase. In implementation of controller, simple control algorithm is derived as the instantaneous voltage control methods without current sensor. The instantaneous voltage is controled by PWM method and the switching frequency is presented in low range 3 [kHz] for reducing the switching loss. In case of active load, four quadrants operation converter regenerate power from the load to the power source is conducted. Through the computer simulation and experimentation, the proposed control method is justified.

  • In this paper, a voltage control method based on DQ transformation and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) for a single phase three-level converter is proposed. This control method is designed to use DC values instead of using instantaneous values of current which are usually used in single-phase application, so that it results in a fast and robust voltage control response. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the control strategies.
