Optimization Analysis of the Shape and Position of a Submerged Breakwater for Improving Floating Body Stability

  • Submerged breakwaters can be installed underneath floating structures to reduce the external wave loads acting on the structure. The objective of this study was to establish an optimization analysis framework to determine the corresponding shape and position of the submerged breakwater that can minimize or maximize the external forces acting on the floating structure. A two-dimensional frequency-domain boundary element method (FD-BEM) based on the linear potential theory was developed to perform the hydrodynamic analysis. A metaheuristic algorithm, the advanced particle swarm optimization, was newly coupled to the FD-BEM to perform the optimization analysis. The optimization analysis process was performed by calling FD-BEM for each generation, performing a numerical analysis of the design variables of each particle, and updating the design variables using the collected results. The results of the optimization analysis showed that the height of the submerged breakwater has a significant effect on the surface piercing body and that there is a specific area and position with an optimal value. In this study, the optimal values of the shape and position of a single submerged breakwater were determined and analyzed so that the external force acting on a surface piercing body was minimum or maximum.

사대부 묘 석인상 복식의 양식변화 요인에 관한 고찰 (Factors relating to Changes in Costume Style of Stone Statues at Tombs of the Emerging Gentry (Sadaebu) in the Joseon Dynasty)

  • This study reports the costume changes and the factors of the changes from stone status in joseon dynasty. It can be summarized as follows: First, the artisan for the statues is one of the most important factors for the costume changes. The artisans who were involved in building the King's tomb were also made the stone statues for scholars' tombs. This results in that the style of the King's tomb influenced the costumes of stone statues for scholars' tombs. Some craftsmen who were buddhist monks also influenced the introduction of buddhist arts. Second, the stone statues are classified into 3 types according to the dead's social position: the civil officer statues, the military official statues, and the servant statues are installed for the civil officer, the military officers, and others, respectively. This principle was applied well. However, the civil official statues are mainly installed in late joseon dynasty because the civil officers are socially preferred to the military officers in late joseon dynasty. Third, there are two types of civil officer statues; Gongbok type and jobok type. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were mainly installed in early joseon dynasty and civil officer statues of jobok type were begun to be installed in the early 16th century. Civil officer statues of Gongbok type were fade out after the late 17th century. Fourth, there are three reasons why civil officer statues of jobok type were installed at the officers's tombs 270 years earlier than at the Kings' tombs: 1) Introduction of Daemyunghoejeon and its application, 2) an establishment of a system that requires to prepare jobok individually, and 3) self-confidence of scholars' class on political and cultural maturity.

하천 합류부 주변내 하수관거 방류조건에 따른 수위 및 유속 영향분석 (Analysis of Water Depth and Velocity through Discharge Condition from Sewerage Outlet at Near Channel Junction)

  • 도시지역의 우수를 배제하기 위한 방법으로 토구를 이용하여 하천으로 방류하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 토구를 설치 할 때 국내설계기준에는 어떠한 기준이나 제안이 없이 설계자나 시공자의 임의로 만들어 지고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 토구를 설치하는 방법에 대한 기초적인 자료를 제공하기 위하여 토구 방류 유량에 따른 흐름 변화 및 설치 각도, 돌출정도, 그리고 설치 위치에 따른 흐름변화를 실험을 통하여 분석함으로써 흐름에 보다 영향을 적게 미치는 토구설치 방법을 제안하였다. 총 10가지 경우에 대한 실험을 통하여, 같은 유량을 방류함에 있어서 한 곳으로의 방류보다는 상.하류 등으로 분리하여 방류하는 것이 흐름에 영향을 적게 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 설치 각도 및 돌출에 따라 상류지역의 수위 상승 및 유속 감소 등의 현상이 나타나 토구 설치 시 보다 신중하고 흐름에 방해가 되지 않는 방향으로 설치할 수 있는 방안을 강구해야 한다.

축척 모형을 이용한 근접 저상 방음벽의 음향성능평가 및 예측 (Acoustic Performance Evaluation and Prediction for Low Height Noise Barriers Installed Adjacent To Rails Using Scale Down Model)

  • 철도 선로에 근접하여 설치하는 근접 저상 방음벽은 방음벽 높이를 저감시키기 위한 방안으로 외국에서는 많은 연구가 수행되고 있으나 국내에서의 연구는 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 근접 저상 방음벽의 음향특성을 파악하고자 축척 모형을 제작하여 성능평가를 수행하였다. 실험결과, 'ㄱ'자형 방음벽 설치 시에는 방음벽의 안쪽뿐만 아니라 상부에도 흡음재를 설치하는 것이 삽입손실의 개선효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었고, 방음벽의 삽입손실 평가를 위해 단순한 경험식 대신에 경계요소법과 같은 보다 해석적인 방법으로 삽입손실을 예측할 필요가 있다. 또한, 흡음재를 부착한 근접 방음벽을 설치하면 승객 위치에서의 소음 증가현상은 미미한 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고, 근접 방음벽의 음향성능 예측을 위해 2차원 경계요소법을 이용한 소음해석을 수행하였으며, 측정결과와의 비교 분석을 수행함으로서 예측 프로그램의 활용 가능성을 검증하였다.

A Study on Effects of Partial Shading on PV System applied to the Offshore Plant

  • Unlike photovoltaic systems installed on land, photovoltaic systems applied to the offshore plant have the characteristic that is installed in a limited space. For single point mooring plant, it is advantageous in terms of a reliable power supply to be installed in different directions of photovoltaic panels, because it is not possible to identify the position of the sun by rotation of the plant itself. Differences of installation angle between photovoltaic panels make a difference of the intensity of radiation irradiated on each photovoltaic panel, and it brings loss of generation quantity due to the partial shading. In order to provide a photovoltaic system suitable for offshore plant, the modeling which contains multiple photovoltaic panels controlled by single controller is performed. Then, it was examined how the output characteristics of the photovoltaic system change about the difference of the intensity of radiation that varies depending on the altitude of the sun. Finally, through the simulation, a development model of the photovoltaic system which is suitable for offshore plant is suggested.

차세대전동차 안전스텝 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Safety Step for Advanced Electric Multiple Unit)

  • The safety step has been developed to ensure the passengers' safety including the disabled and the weak by eliminating gap between vehicle and platform. The type of safety step is divided according to the position that the safety step is installed. The type of safety step attached platform is the rubber type that is previously attached to a platform. The installed rubber can reduces the gap between vehicle and platform by a fixed distance. If the safety step is installed on the vehicle, it is possible to respond to the various platform typed such as straight or curved form. It is also flexible to the height of riding depends on number of passenger and platform conditions and does not require crew's additional operation. We have been developed vehicle attached safety step for advanced electric multiple unit. We hope to increase the use of safety step for the disabled and the weak to expand the convenience use of railway transportation system.

공동주택의 세대별 균등 배기량을 확보 하는 제어방법에 관한 연구 (Control Method to Ensure Uniform Exhaust Function by Household of Apartment House)

  • This study was conducted to present an effective control method for the common duct system to uniformly discharge volume flow rate exhausted from the kitchen and bathroom of each household in an apartment regardless of the position of household. Since the common duct system is installed vertically and the ventilator is installed in the terminal, the static pressure of each household decreases when vertical height increases. Therefore, the volume flow rate exhausted from each household is different. In order to improve such a phenomenon, a constant air volume damper shall be installed in a branch duct coupled with a common vertical duct system. The selected ventilator should also be able to handle the maximum volume flow rate considering diversity factor. Therefore, a uniform volume flow rate must be exhausted from all households where the hood is operated. This paper mainly focuses on suggestion of an optimum exhaust control method by comparing exhaust performance of each household according to the presence or absence of a constant air volume damper.

지하철 승강장 스크린도어 설치에 따른 사인시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Sign System Following Installation of Screen Doors in Subway Platforms)

  • To prevent safety accidents such as injury or death from falling by blocking platforms from trains, the Seoul Metropolitan Subway Corp. have gradually installed screen doors in platforms of 115 subway stations in Seoul on lines 1, 2, 3, and 4. Installation in nine areas among those has been completed and screen doors are being operated as a model operation. Traffic signs should be clear for users. The essential functions of signs should be fully investigated from the aspect of user as well as the visual beauty and recognition. Signs should be able to provide users with information regarding location, position, directions, etc. Particularly, safety and convenient signs should be visually and sensually correlated. However, the entire screen doors in platforms installed in line 2 subway in Seoul are used for commercial advertisement, consequently, the functions and roles as public signs are not fulfilled aggravating inconvenience for users. In this study, cases have been studied to investigate requirements for user-oriented sign system in platform and public sign space to fulfill the functions of sign system in platform. Using an anthropometry approach, the study aimed to obtain the space to install the sign system and to systemize necessary and sufficient conditions for user-oriented system for platform in which screen doors have been installed using. The study suggests fundamental information to obtain the space of public sign system on the entire screen door.

  • A multi pole SRM(switched reluctance motor) is applied by the regulated current in regular sequence. So, it can be started by itself. But a single phase SRM can not be started by itself because the positive torque is only generated in the limited zone which the inductance is increased. Therefore, it is required auxiliary device for self starting which place the rotor in start position. The prototype was designed and fabricated in the previous research. It has the permanent magnet, which is installed in the bottom of the rotor, for self starting. But the permanent magnet affect the prototype during operation and cause the decrease of the torque and speed. The influence of the permanent magnet on the average torque and speed was already confirmed. On this paper, the instant torque of the prototype was calculated from the experiment results which is the inductance and current according to installed permanent magnet or not.
