The importance of nose, eye, and In-dang(印堂) region in inspecting color diagnosis (망진(望診) 찰색(察色)에 있어서 비(鼻), 안(眼), 인당(印堂)의 중요성)

  • There are four kinds of diagnosis methods in oriental medicine, and viewing diagnosis(望診) is the most important method among them. There are two ways in viewing diagnosis. These are viewing shape(觀形) and inspecting color(察色). Viewing shape diagnosis includes observation on geometric curve that is made by prominence of bones or lump of flesh, and examination on symmetric disparity and balance of vertical length among three vertical section of face. Inspecting color is literally inspecting several specified region of face. By Viewing shape, we can learn about characteristic physical mechanism of individuals, and basic disposition of reaction from inside and outside infinite stimulations. On the other hand, by inspecting color, we can estimate the very present pathologic and physiologic status of the patient. the estimation is based on principle that inside body changes reveal some reflections on facial skin surface. When you diagnosis patients with inspecting color method, It is important to distinguish color delicately, and to know where to see and what to know from it. The most important and frequently mentioned regions are myong-dang(明堂), eyes(眼) and In-dang(印堂). Myong-dang(明堂) indicates nose. In-dang(印堂) indicates the space between eyebrows. Unlike myong-dang(印堂) and eyes, In-dang(印堂) is occasionally treated as a trivial region then others. But, from research on classical books of facial examination and consideration of it's locational meanings, we've learned In-dang(印堂) is very important in viewing diagnosis, because this region is crossing of the other two regions and this fact means this region expresses the spiritual status as well as physical status in one region.

  • Objectives : In physiognomy, human emotion such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure in social relation is one of important factors for impression formation. Various emotional feelings exert significant influence on the endocrine action and the muscle activities as well as changes of one's impression, which results in changes of one's life. On the other hand, such alterations in life may also bring changes of one's impression. The method of physiognomic examination is not different from the inspecting colors that makes a diagnosis of physical conditions. Thus, based on "Yeongchu Ohseak(靈樞 五色)", the present study compares similarities and differences between the two views of the physiognomy and the Korean medicine. Methods : The similarities and differences between the two approaches will be compared to each other and analysed with the respect to inspecting colors suggested by preceding research in physiognomy and "Yeongchu Ohseak(靈樞 五色)". Results & Conclusions : From this study, we found physiognomy and the Korean medicine shares the same theoretical background. The differences that we found in the present study are as follow. The inspection diagnosis in the Korean medicine focuses on the prevention and treatment of diseases; however, physiognomy focuses on the prognostication of one's life in order to lead a happy life. As the ultimate goals of the two approaches differ with each other, it is peculiarly challenging to compare these two in detail. Therefore, the future study should address physiognomy as a part of the Korean medicine so that the Korean medicine can contribute to mankind for a better and healthy human life.

A Study on the color of Daily Clothes of middle Era of the Chosun Dynasty (조선중기 일상복의 색상연구(I)-16.17세기 출토복식 중심-)

  • This study investigates the color of daily clothes of middle era of Yi dynasty by examining the color of excavated clothing which was the real clothes in 16th and 17th centuries. The purposes of this study lie in understanding emotional feeling observed by exact measurement of the color of the excavated and devising a method of reserving the color of the excavated by inspecting the discolored color of the excavated. For this, the color difference was measured by color measuring system. Minolta Chroma-meter, and then recorded in L*a*b system. The 3-dimensional color difference was observed by analyzing these data on Methmetica and change in color with ageing was assessed by reconstructing the color by Phoposhop. The color construction of daily clothes of middle era of the Chosun Dynasty was founded on a philosophy, and it was made up of colors such as white, brown, and blue. This color construction seemed to be based on the philosophy of naturalism symbolizing surrounding nature, e.g., white symbolizes Bak-sasang(bak-philosophy) and blue implies Eumyangohangsul.

Reflectance Characteristics of the Tobacco Leaves (잎담배의 광반사 특성)

  • Optical properties of the tobacco leaves were determined. Surface colors and reflectance characteristics of the flue-cured variety and the Burley variety with thin and thick leaves were measured. Color was measured by CIE colorimeter and reflectance was measured with a laboratory built reflectance meter utilizing optical bandpass filters whose center wavelengths are from 400 to 700 nm at intervals of 50 nm. The resulting data indicated that the measured color and reflectance would be useful in inspecting tobacco. However no single optical data could be used to successfully grade tobacco leaves.

  • This study focuses on the application of a new measurement method that quantifies the residual color of filtered water using a spectrocolorimeter after filtering the discolored substances. It was confirmed through the color and turbidity cross-test that the discolored substances cannot be measured effectively with the current legal color and turbidity test method. Therefore, the National Institute of Environmental Research's filter testing method, which involves filtering the sample through 0.45 ㎛ filter and visually inspecting the color, was improved. A membrane filter colorimetry (MFC) method was established by measuring the color difference (ΔE*ab(65)) of the filtered filter using a spectrophotometer and expressing it as filter color unit (FCU). Using the MFC method, the FCU for reference materials such as iron and manganese, as well as field samples, was measured. The results showed a high correlation with turbidity, and the color difference patterns varied depending on the type of reference materials and field samples. This indicates that the MFC method is an effective new measurement method of discolored tap water.

  • This paper describes the structure, operation, image processing, and decision making techniques of a color machine vision system designed for the automatic sorting of soybeans. The system consists of feeder, conveyor belt, line-scan camera, lights. ejector, and a PC Unlike manufactured goods, agricultural products including soybeans have quite uneven features. The criteria for sorting good and bad beans also vary depending on inspectors. We tackle these problem by letting the system learn the inspecting parameters from good samples selected manually by a machine user before running the system for sorting. Real-time processing has another importance In the design. Four parallel DSPs are employed to increase the processing speed. When the designed system was tested with real soybeans and the result was successful.

  • The Automobile has developed and changed through the years from the invention and increased human-being's scope of activity. Junction Box, one of the part of automobile, is inspected by human eyes which caused mistakes and slow progress. To achieve the speed and accuracy the system was compensated by vision system which is inspecting automatically. This paper is automatic inspection of fuse and relay which is inserted in the junction box by checking the color and pattern of the cover. After checking the performance of the system by using the junction box, the result was 100 percent perception and open the possibility to inspect junction box fast and easy and accurate if it is applied to the industry.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for the pattern inspection of LCD module using the color compensation and pattern matching. The pattern matching is generally used for the inspection method of LCD module at the industry. LCD module has many defections such as the brightness difference of the back light, the optic feature of liquid crystal, the difference of the light penetrated by driving LCD and the color difference by the lighting. The conventional method without the color compensation can not solve these defections and decreases the efficiency of inspecting LCD module. The method proposed to inspect defective badness through the pattern matching after it compensated color difference of the LCD occurred by the various causes. At first, it revises with setting by standard tone of color with the LCD pattern of the reference image. And It perform the preprocessing and pattern matching algorithm on the compensated image. In experiment, we confirmed that this algorithm is useful to detect some defections of LCD module. The proposed methods was easy to detect the faulty product.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting satisfaction of street-scape. According to this purpose, in chapter 2, by inspecting conservation of street environment and streetscape, deduce the frame for analyzing streetscape in commercial district. In chapter 3, analyzing present condition and problems of selected streets in Pohang City, derive the primary factors to induce desirable streetscape through problems and their reason between the analyzed elements of building form. Analyzed elements are composed pavement of road, street furniture, height of buildings, color and material of building and outdoor advertisements, etc. In chapter 4, by conducting a questionnaire survey of pedestrians about street images and the preference, propose the direction of improvement about streetscape in commercial district. As the study method, level of satisfaction was analyzed using the components of street-scape. The collected data was analyzed through Reliability Analysis, ANOVA, Factor Analysis, Regression Analysis. A regression analysis for deriving main factors affecting the satisfaction level of street-scape showed that signboard, sign color, width of street, paving materials, street furniture, open space were found to be the most important.

Tomato Crop Disease Classification Using an Ensemble Approach Based on a Deep Neural Network (심층 신경망 기반의 앙상블 방식을 이용한 토마토 작물의 질병 식별)

  • The early detection of diseases is important in agriculture because diseases are major threats of reducing crop yield for farmers. The shape and color of plant leaf are changed differently according to the disease. So we can detect and estimate the disease by inspecting the visual feature in leaf. This study presents a vision-based leaf classification method for detecting the diseases of tomato crop. ResNet-50 model was used to extract the visual feature in leaf and classify the disease of tomato crop, since the model showed the higher accuracy than the other ResNet models with different depths. We propose a new ensemble approach using several DCNN classifiers that have the same structure but have been trained at different ranges in the DCNN layers. Experimental result achieved accuracy of 97.19% for PlantVillage dataset. It validates that the proposed method effectively classify the disease of tomato crop.
