  • In this study, insensitive munitions(IM) policies and technologies of advanced countries for solid rocket motor were investigated. Development trends and caseworks of each part such as propellant and motor case of rocket motor for IM were also studied. Based on these investigation and analysis for IM rocket motor, directions of the development for IM rocket motor in our country were suggested.

A temperature and supply insensitive CMOS current reference using a square root circuit (제곱근 회로를 이용한 온도와 공급 전압에 둔감한 CMOS 정전류원)

  • A new temperature and supply-insensitive CMOS current reference circuit was designed and tested. Te temperature insensuitivity was achieved by eliminating the mobility dependence term through the multiplication of two current components, one which is proportional to mobility and the other which is inversely proportional to mobility, by using a newly designed CMOS square root circuit. The CMOS sqare root circuit was derived from its bipolar counterpart by operating the MOS transistors in the subthreshold region. The supply insensitivity was achieved by using an internal voltage generator. Te test chip was designed ans sent out for fabrication by using a 2.mu.m double-poly double-metal n-well CMOS technology. When an external voltage source was used for the square root circuit, the maximum variation and the average temperature sensitivity were measured to be 3% and 21.4ppm/.deg.C, respectively, for the temperature range of -15~130.deg.C. The maximum current variation with supply voltage was measured to be 3% within the commerical supply voltage range of 4.5~5.5V at 30.deg. C.

  • Side-polished single-mode fiber covered with a thick planar-glass-waveguide is studied as a polarization-insensitive fiber-optic refractometer The properties of the device are very sensitive to the index variation of an upper cladding on top of the overlay waveguide. We investigate the spectral response, the polarization properties, and the relationship between the shift in coupling wavelength and the index variation of an upper cladding layer Index resolutions of the order of 10-4 have been achieved.

  • 예기치 않은 외부의 자극으로 인한 유도무기의 사고에 의해 인명 및 무기체계의 피해를 최소화하기 위하여 유도무기 둔감화 연구가 미국과 NATO를 중심으로 80년대 초반부터 활발히 수행되어 오고 있다. IM(insensitive munitions)은 예기치 않은 외부 자극에 노출되었을 때 성능과 작동요구조건을 충분히 만족시키면서 격렬한 반응을 최소화하는 무기로 정의된다. 1995년도까지 미 해군에서 사용하는 모든 전술 유도무기를 MIL-STD-2105B의 요구 조건에 부합하도록 둔감화 하기 위하여 1984년 미 해군에서 IM 프로그램이 만들어졌고, 1991년에 NATO의 NIMIC(NATO Insensitive Munitions Information Center)이 만들어져서 현재까지 둔감화약, 둔감 추진제, 복합재연소관 및 완화장치 등에 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다.

Analyses of centrifuge modelling for artificially sensitive clay slopes

  • Slope stability of sensitive clayey soils is particularly important when subjected to strength loss and deformation. Except for progressive failure, for most sensitive and insensitive slopes, it is important to review the feasibility of conventional analysis methods based on peak strength since peak strength governs slope stability before yielding. In this study, as a part of efforts to understand the behavior of sensitive clay slopes, a total of 12 centrifuge tests were performed for artificially sensitive and insensitive clay slopes using San Francisco Bay Mud (PI = 50) and Yolo Loam (PI = 10). In terms of slope stability, the results were analyzed using the updated instability factor ($N_I$). $N_I$ using equivalent unit weight to cause a failure is in reasonable agreement shown in the Taylor's chart ($N_I$ ~ 5.5). In terms of dynamic deformation, it is shown that two-way sliding is a more accurate approach than conventional one-way sliding. Two-way sliding may relate to diffused shear surfaces. The outcome of this study is contributable to analyzing stability and deformation of steep sensitive clay slopes.

  • The vibration sensitivities of optical cavities depending on the support area were investigated, both numerically and experimentally. We performed numerical simulations with two models: one with total constraint of the support area, and the other with only vertical constraint. An optimal support condition insensitive to the support's area could be found by numerical simulation. The support area was determined in the experiment by a Viton rubber pad. The vertical, transverse, and longitudinal vibration sensitivities were measured experimentally. The experimental result agreed with the numerical simulation of a sliding model (only vertical constraint).

  • 본 연구는 LQR을 Robust하게 설계하는 방법을 다루었다. Unstructured Perturbation에 대응하기 좋으며 쉽게 다룰 수 있는 주파수 응답형 LQR criteria 선정법과, LQR의 변형으로서 Structured Perturbation에 대하여 유효한 Performance Criteria Insensitive Control을 제시하고 효과를 살펴보았다.
