  • This paper presents a method in analyzing the output force/moments transmission form the applied input forces of the paralled manipulator. Like a serial manipulator the Jacobian matrix introduced in the paper plays role in relating the output forces/monents with the input forces. The force/moment manipulability have been investigated by considering the force transmission and momen transmission independently. Sensitivity analysis has been done and an illuatrating example is given.

부품이 실장된 전자회로보드의 RLC 병렬회로 검사기법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Test Method of RLC Parallel Circuits on the Device-Mounted Electronic Circuit Board)

  • In the existing ICT technique, the mounted electronic devices on the printed circuit board are tested whether the devices are good or not by comparing and measuring the value of the devices after separating the devices to be tested from around it based on the guarding method. But, in case that resistance, inductor and capacitor are configured as a parallel circuit on the circuit pattern, values for each device can not be measured because the total impedance value of the parallel circuit is measured. Accordingly, it is impossible to test whether the parallel circuit is good or not in case that the measured impedance value is within the tolerance error. Also, it is difficult to identify that which device among R, L and C of the parallel circuit is bad in case that the measured impedance value is out of the tolerance error. Accordingly, this paper proposes a test method which can enhance the quality and productivity by separating and measuring accurately R, L and C components from the RLC parallel circuits on the device-mounted printed circuit board. First, the RLC parallel circuit to be test is separated electrically from around it using three-terminal guarding technique. And then R, L and C values are computed based on the total impedance values and phase angles between voltage and current of the parallel circuit measured from two AC input signals with other frequency, Finally, the availability and accuracy of the proposed test method is verified by reviewing the simulation results.

  • 최근 시스템 온 칩 내 메모리의 고속 동작을 위해 TCM (Tightly Coupled Memory)를 내장한 설계가 크게 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 온칩 내 eDRAM을 사용한 TCM 메모리를 위한 새로운 병열 메모리 테스트 구조를 제안한다. 제안하는 기법에서 피테스트 메모리가 테스트 모드에서 병렬 구조로 바뀌고 바운더리 스캔 체인과 함께 내장 메모리의 테스트용이도가 크게 향상된다. 병렬테스트 방식의 메모리는 각 메모리 요소들이 특정한 기능을 수행하도록 구조화되어 있으므로 모듈들로 분할하여 테스트 할 수 있으며 입출력 데이터를 기반으로 동적 테스트 평가 가능하다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안한 기법의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The reliability as well as the power capability of the UPS system can be increased by replacing a single UPS unit with multiple small UPS units in parallel, resulting in a so-called module UPS. This module UPS system allows that a new module can be added or replaced while maintaining power to loads, which is a hot-swappable operation. In addition, it has desirable features such as ease of output power expandability, convenience of maintenance and repair, and high reliability. To realize the module UPS, load sharing without interconnection among parallel connecting modules as well as a small scale and lightweight topology is necessary. The frequency and voltage droop method is applied to parallel operation control to achieve load sharing. 5kVA modules are designed and implemented to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Experimental results show that the module UPS system has a high power factor, a low distortion of output voltage and input current, hot-swappable operations and good load sharing characteristics.

시차정보를 이용한 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 주시각제어 (Vergence control of parallel stereoscopic camera using the binocular disparity information)

  • 본 논문은 기하학적 분석을 통한 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 주시각제어의 자동화에 관한 것이다. 수평이동방식 입체영상 카메라의 기하학적 구조에서 관심물체의 거리와 주시각의 제어량 간에 선형관계가 있음을 실험을 통해 확인하고, 입체영상의 시차정보를 통해 주시각이 제어되는 입체영상 카메라 시스템을 제안하였다. 또한, 실시간 시차정보 추출을 위해, 획득되는 좌, 우 영상의 다운 샘플링 데이터와 수직방향 프로젝션 데이터를 각각 Cepstral 필터 입력으로 하는 빠르고, 정확한 입체영상 시차정보 추출 방법인 Hybrid Cepstral 필터를 제안하였다. 제안된 시차정보 추출 방법과 수평이동 방식 입체카메라의 주시각제어 시스템을 통해 보다 인간의 시각에 가까운 입체영상을 얻을 수 있다.

  • 본 논문은 CRC 회로의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 파이프라인 구조를 적용한 병렬 CRC 회로 설계 방법을 제시한다. 입력 데이터의 폭이 CRC 다항식의 차수보다 큰 병렬 CRC 회로를 파이프라인 구조로 변형하기 위하여 로직을 분할하고 파이프라인 단계의 길이를 결정하고, 각 파이프라인 단계에 레지스터를 삽입하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 여러 가지 타입의 병렬 CRC 회로에 대해, 본 논문에서 제안한 방식이 현저하게 성능을 향상 시켰음을 알 수 있다.

Analysis of system dynamic influences in robotic actuators with variable stiffness

  • In this paper the system dynamic influences in actuators with variable stiffness as contemporary used in robotics for safety and efficiency reasons are investigated. Therefore, different configurations of serial and parallel elasticities are modeled by dynamic equations and linearized transfer functions. The latter ones are used to identify the characteristic behavior of the different systems and to study the effect of the different elasticities. As such actuation concepts are often used to reach energy-efficient operation, a power consumption analysis of the configurations is performed. From the comparison of this with the system dynamics, strategies to select and control stiffness are derived. Those are based on matching the natural frequencies or antiresonance modes of the actuation system to the frequency of the trajectory. Results show that exclusive serial and parallel elasticity can minimize power consumption when tuning the system to the natural frequencies. Antiresonance modes are an additional possibility for stiffness control in the series elastic setup. Configurations combining both types of elasticities do not provide further advantages regarding power reduction but an input parallel elasticity might enable for more versatile stiffness selection. Yet, design and control effort increase in such solutions. Topologies incorporating output parallel elasticity showed not to be beneficial in the chosen example but might do so in specific applications.

CUDA based parallel design of a shot change detection algorithm using frame segmentation and object movement

  • This paper proposes the parallel design of a shot change detection algorithm using frame segmentation and moving blocks. In the proposed approach, the high parallel processing components, such as frame histogram calculation, block histogram calculation, Otsu threshold setting function, frame moving operation, and block histogram comparison, are designed in parallel for NVIDIA GPU. In order to minimize memory access delay time and guarantee fast computation, the output of a GPU kernel becomes the input data of another kernel in a pipeline way using the shared memory of GPU. In addition, the optimal sizes of CUDA processing blocks and threads are estimated through the prior experiments. In the experimental test of the proposed shot change detection algorithm, the detection rate of the GPU based parallel algorithm is the same as that of the CPU based algorithm, but the average of processing time speeds up about 6~8 times.

  • In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. The concept of relative gain matrix is used to obtain the input-output pairs. However, among the input/output variables which are not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by tile introduction of a simple compensator. This compensator adjusts the degree of coupling between variables using a neural network. In this proposed neuro-fuzzy controller, the Neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm, adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables.

  • A micromechanical switch that can be used as a logic gate is described in this paper. This switch consists of fixed input electrodes an output electrode Vcc/GND electrodes and movable plates suspended by crab-leg flexures. for mechanical switching of an electrical signal a parallel plate actuator which comes in contact with output electrode was used. Provided that movable plates are connected to Vcc and a low input voltage(ground signal) is applied to the fixed input electrodes the movable plates are pulled by an electrostatic force between the fixed input electrodes and the movable plates. the proposed micromechanical switch was fabricated by surface micromachining technology with$2\mum$ -thick poly-Si and the measured threshold voltage for ON/OFF switching was 23.5V.
