유무기 TiO2-SiO2 혼성코팅에 미치는 전구체 배합비율의 영향 (Effect of Precursor Ratio on the Properties of Inorganic-Organic Hybrid TiO2-SiO2 Coating)

  • When a single inorganic precursor is used for the synthesis of a sol-gel coating, there is a problem of cracking on the surface of coating layer. In order to solve this problem of surface cracking, we synthesized inorganic-organic coatings that have hybrid properties of inorganic and organic materials. Sols of various ratios (1:0.07, 0.2, 0.41, 0.82, 1.64, 3.26, 6.54, 13.2) of an inorganic precursor of Tetrabutylorthotitanate ($Ti(OBu)_4$, TBOT) and an organic precursor of ${\gamma}$-Methacryloxy propyltrimethoxysilane (MAPTS) were prepared and coated on stainless steels (SUS316L) by dip coating method. The binding structure and the physical properties of the synthesized coatings were analyzed by FT-IR, FE-SEM, FIB (Focused Ion Beam), and a nano-indenter. Dynamic polarization testing and EIS (electrical impedance spectroscopy) were carried out to evaluate the micro-defects and the corrosion properties of the coatings. The prepared coatings show hybrid properties of inorganic oxides and organic materials. Crack free coatings were prepared when the MAPTS ratio was above a critical value. As the MAPTS ratio increased, the thickness and the corrosion resistance increased, and the hardness decreased.

Chromate-free Hybrid Coating for Corrosion Protection of Electrogalvanized Steel Sheets

  • Both electrogalvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel sheets have been finally produced via organic-inorganic surface coating process on the zinc surface to enhance corrosion resistance and afford additional functional properties. Recently, POSCO has been developed a variety of chromate-free coated steels that are widely used in household, construction and automotive applications. New organic-inorganic hybrid coating solutions as chromate alternatives are comprised of surface modified silicate with silane coupling agent and inorganic corrosion inhibitors as an aqueous formulation. In this paper we have prepared new type of hybrid coatings and evaluated quality performances such as corrosion resistance, spot weldability, thermal tolerance, and paint adhesion property etc. The electrogalvanized steels with these coating solutions exhibit good anti-corrosion property compared to those of chromate coated steels. Detailed components composition of coating solutions and experimental results suggest that strong binding between organic-inorganic hybrid coating layer and zinc surface plays a key role in the advanced quality performances.

유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 이용한 고굴절 하드코팅 막의 제조 (Preparation of Hard Coating Films with High Refractive Index using Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Coating Solutions)

  • 출발물질인 TTIP로부터 이산화티탄 졸을 합성하여 무기물로 사용하고 유기물로서 실란커플링제인 methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MPTMS), aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APS), glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS), vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES)을 2종 혹은 3종씩 복합 사용하여 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 그 후 코팅 용액을 기재인 PC시트 위에 스핀 코팅시키고, 열경화 시켜 하드코팅 막을 제조하였다. 2종 실란커플링제를 혼합하여 제조된 코팅 막들은 기재와의 부착력과 연필경도가 우수하지 못했으나, 3종 실란커플링제를 혼합하여 제조한 코팅 막은 2H~4H의 향상된 연필경도와 5B의 우수한 부착력을 나타내었다. 이산화티탄 졸의 첨가량이 20 g인 코팅 막의 굴절률은 550 nm에서 1.56을 나타내었으나 이산화티탄 졸의 첨가량을 20 g에서 30 g으로 증가시킨 경우, 코팅 막의 굴절률이 1.63으로 향상되었다.

유기안료의 첨가가 도공층의 표면특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Orgnainc Pigment Addition on Surface Properties of Coating Layer)

  • In this experiment the effects of the packing structure of pigment on the surface characteristics (smoothness and gloss) of coated paper are studied. Four different kinds of inorganic pigments(clay), ground calcium carbonate(GCC), two of precipitated calcium carbonates(PCC), and two organic pigments(solid bead and hollow type) were used. The method of measuring the relative sediment volume(RSV) was used to analyze the packing structure of coating layer. The relative sediment volume was measured, using the pressure dewatering dry-cake method(PDDM) and centrifuge method. Also, the particle size distribution of coating pigment was determined. The results showed that small amount of organic pigment, added to inorganic pigment, improved smoothness and its effect was greater when GCC was used as inorganic pigment. The efficiency of organic pigment depended upon the inorganic pigment since the organic pigment is packed in the pores formed by the inorganic pigment.

  • 본 연구에서는 알루미나 졸과 아크릴레이트 단량체를 이용하여 UV 경화형 유-무기 하이브리드 하드코팅 용액을 제조하였다. Aluminum isopropoxide로부터 얻어진 알루미나 졸에 실란커플링제인 methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane(MPTMS)을 첨가하여 제조된 졸을 무기물 성분으로 사용하였다. 유기물 성분으로는 다양한 아크릴레이트 단량체인 pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA), 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate(HDDA), dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate(DPEHA)를 혼합하여 사용하였다. 이후 무기물 성분과 유기물 성분을 혼합하여 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 제조한 후, 이를 polycarbonate 기판 위에 스핀 코팅 후 UV 경화를 실시하여 도막을 형성하였다. 이때 무기물 성분 중의 MPTMS의 첨가량과 UV 경화 시간 변화가 코팅 막의 물성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 그 결과 MPTMS가 0.20 mole 첨가 될 경우 코팅 막은 3H의 우수한 연필경도를 나타내었으며 haze값이 2%로 내마모성도 우수하였다.

  • 투명 플라스틱 소재를 광학용으로 적용하기 위해서는 표면경도 및 내열성과 같은 물성의 개선이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 물성의 개선을 위하여 자외선 경화형 유기/무기 하이브리드를 합성하였다. 유기소재 안에 무기 성분이 균일하게 최적상태로 분산되도록 하기 위하여 졸-겔 반응을 기초로 하여 동시에 반응이 진행되도록 하였다. 이러한 졸-겔 반응과 빠른 자외선 경화반응을 적절히 조합하여 우레탄 아크릴레이트 유기소재 안에 무기 성분의 분산성이 향상되도록 하여 투명성이 우수한 코팅층을 형성시킬 수 있었다. 자외선 경화형 유기/무기 하이브리드의 경화도와 코팅 물성을 변화시키기 위하여 다양한 종류의 알콕시 실란을 사용하였다. 이러한 자외선 경화형 유기/무기 하이브리드 코팅에서의 무기 성분의 함량에 따라 표면 경도와 내열성을 조절할 수 있었다.

  • UV-Curable hybrid coatings were synthesized to improve the surface properties of plastic film. Organic-inorganic coating solutions were prepared by the sol-gel method using urethane-acrylate oligomer, acrylate monomer, photo initiator and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). Methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTMS) was used as a silane coupling agent to improve chemical interaction between inorganic phases and UV curable acrylate. In this study, the surface hardness and adhesive properties were improved with the use of inorganic component. The experimental results showed that UV-Curable hybrid films containing aliphatic urethane oligomer, hexanedioldiacrylate, trimethylolpropanetriacrylate, hydroxy dimethyl acetophenone exhibited good surface properties. Also, the optimum curing conditions were investigated.

  • Plate-shaped inorganic particles are coated onto a stainless steel substrate by the electrophoretic deposition of a precursor slurry which includes the inorganic particles of $Al_2O_3$ and polymer resin in mixed solvents to mimic the abalone shell structure, which is a composite of plate-shaped inorganic particles and organic interlayer binding materials with a layered orientation. The process parameters of the electrophoretic deposition include the voltage, coating time, and conductivity of the substrate. In addition, the suspension parameters are the particle size, concentration, viscosity, conductivity, and stability. We prepared an organic-inorganic composite coating with a high inorganic solid content by arraying the plate-shaped $Al_2O_3$ particles and electrophoretic resin via an electrophoretic deposition method. We analyzed the effect of the slurry composition and the electrophoretic deposition process parameters on the physical, mechanical and thermal properties of the coating layer, i.e., the thickness, density, particle orientation, Young's modulus and thermogravimetric analysis results.

  • Single $TiO_2$ coating prepared by sol-gel process usually experiences cracks in coating layer. In order to prevent cracks, an inorganic-organic hybrid $TiO_2-SiO_2$ coating was synthesized by combining precursors with an organic functional group. Five different coatings with various ratios of (1:8, 1:4, 1:1, 1:0.25 and 1:0.125) titanium alkoxide (TBOT, Tetrabutylorthotitanate) to organo-alkoxysilane (MAPTS, ${\gamma}$-Methacryloxy propyltrimethoxysilane) on carbon steel substrate were made by sol-gel dip coating. The prepared coatings were analyzed to study the coating properties (surface crack, thickness, composition) by scanning electron microscope (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Potentiodynamic polarization tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were also performed to evaluate the corrosion characteristics of the coatings. Crack free $TiO_2-SiO_2$ hybrid coatings were prepared with the optimization of the ratio of TBOT to MAPTS. The corrosion rates were significantly decreased in the coatings for the optimized precursor ratio without cracks.

열처리 조건이 무\ulcorner향성 규소강판의 절연피막에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Hear Teratment on the Insulation Layer of Non-oriented Silicon Steel Sheets)

  • The effect of heft treatment on the characteristic properties of insulation layer is studied for two kinds of non-oriented silicon steels, which were insulation-coates with various kinds of inorganic and inorganic-organic complex coating solutions. In addition, how the carbon contained in the insulation layer would affect the carbon content and the magnetic properties of the steel substrates is examined. Lower temperature heat treftment ($480^{\circ}C$ for 0.5hr) is found to render morw favorable surface qualities, wheras higher temperature heat treatment ($790^{\circ}C$ for 2hr) better core loss due to grin growt occurred during the heat treatment. Decarburization of the steel substrate is also found unaffectrd by the presence of carbon in the insulation layer.
