REACH 물질 등록 시 분류에 영향을 주는 미량 유해 무기물질의 스크리닝·정량·해석을 위한 체계도 연구 (Study on scheme for screening, quantification and interpretation of trace amounts of hazardous inorganic substances influencing hazard classification of a substance in REACH registration)

  • Substance identification is the first step of the REACH registration. It is essential in terms of Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulation and because even trace amounts of impurities or additives can affect the classification. In this study, a scheme for the screening, quantification, and interpretation of trace amounts of hazardous inorganic substances is proposed to detect the presence of more than 0.1% hazardous inorganic substances that have been affecting the hazard classification. An exemplary list of hazardous inorganic substances was created from the substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in REACH. Among 201 SVHCs, there were 67 inorganic SVHCs containing at least one or ~2-3 heavy metals, such as As, Cd, Co, Cr, Pb, Sb, and Sn, in their molecular formula. The inorganic SVHCs are listed in excel format with a search function for these heavy metals so that the hazardous inorganic substances, including each heavy metal and the calculated ratio of its atomic weight to molecular weight of the hazardous inorganic substance containing it, can be searched. The case study was conducted to confirm the validity of the established scheme with zinc oxide (ZnO). In a substance that is made of ZnO, Pb was screened by XRF analysis and measured to be 0.04% (w/w) by ICP-OES analysis. After referring to the list, the presence of Pb was interpreted just as an impurity, but not as an impurity relevant for the classification. Future studies are needed to expand on this exemplary list of hazardous inorganic substances using proper regulatory data sources.

  • Alumina 세라믹스의 기계적 물성 증진을 위하여 SiC whisker로 강화시키고 소결 조제 및 소결 온도의 영향을 고찰하였다. Whiker의 소결억제 효과로 인하여 고상소결을 촉진하는 MgO나 $TiO_2$를 소결조제로 사용한 경우에서는 치밀한 소결체를 얻을 수 없었으나, 액상을 형성하는 $Y_2O_3$를 2wt% 첨가한 경우에 양호한 소결밀도를 얻을 수 있었다. whisker 첨가에 의한 기지의 기계적 물성의 증진 효과도 함께 얻을 수 있었다. 강화 효과는 보강재인 whiker 자체의 보강 효과와 함께 입성장 억제 효과가 복합적으로 작용한 것으로 판단되었다. 소결체를 HIP 처리한 경우에는 거의 이론 밀도까지 이르는 아주 치밀한 소결체의 제조가 가능하였으며, 기계적 물성은 상압소결 후의 결과에 비하여 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

무기 첨가물 함량에 따른 사출성형품의 성형 수축 (Shrinkage of Injection Molded Part for Inorganic Additive Compositions)

  • The shrinkages of injection molded parts are different in molding operational conditions, resins and additives. The shrinkage of injection molded part for crystalline polymer, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) has been studied for various operational conditions of injection molding and content of additives. Mica was used as a additive to PBT to examine the part shrinkage according to the mica content. The part shrinkages of mica contained PBT decreased as mica content increases. Higher injection temperature and injection pressure resulted in a lower shrinkage. As mold temperature increases the part shrinkage decreased. The part shrinkage of flow direction was less than that of the perpendicular direction to the flow for both pure and mica contained PBT. However the shrinkage difference between flow and perpendicular to flow directions decreased as mica content increased.

방청 및 내마모 특성이 향상된 자동차 휠 조인트용 $MoS_2$계 고체 피막 윤활제 (An Experimental Study on the Anti-corrosion and Anti-wear Characteristics of MoS$_2$ Bonded Films for Automotive Wheel Joints)

  • Friction, wear and corrosion characteristics of various MoS$_2$ bonded film lubricants were investigated to apply them to automotive wheel joints. MoS$_2$ bonded film lubricants were formulated by combinations of several additives and binders, and they were coated onto the pre-treated surfaces of specimens. Friction and wear characteristics were evaluated with Falex pin & vee-block test and LFW-1 block-on-ring test. For the corrosion resistant characteristics of the films, salt solution spray corrosion tests were performed. Results showed that MoS$_2$ bonded films containing both inorganic and organic corrosion-resistant additives yielded a synergy effect on anti-corrosion resistance. Also, binders having the better water-proof and thermal stability showed the lower friction and higher corrosion resistance.

클링커 바인더 기반 무기계 혼합재를 활용한 시멘트 모르타르의 치유성능 평가 (Self-healing Performance Evaluation of Cement Mortar with Inorganic Additives Based on Clinker Binder)

  • 본 연구에서는 무기계 재료인 클링커 바인더, Calcium sulfoaluminate(CSA), 그리고 sodium sulfate(Na2SO4)가 포함된 시멘트 모르타르의 물리적 특성 및 자기치유성능을 평가하였다. 압축강도 및 휨강도 측정을 통해 시멘트 모르타르의 물리적 강도를 알아보고, 정수위 투수시험 및 기체확산시험을 통해 치유성능을 평가하였다. 또한 광학현미경과 주사전자현미경을 통해 균열부 내 침전된 치유생성물을 시각적으로 관찰하였다. 그 결과, 클링커 바인더 기반 무기계 혼합재의 혼입은 시멘트 모르타르의 초기 및 28일 재령 강도를 약 20 % 증진시켰다. 치유성능 평가방법에 따라 치유율의 편차가 존재하고 과소평과 되는 경향을 나타냈으나, 무기계 혼합재의 시멘트 모르타르 혼입 시 0.3 mm 균열 내부에서 CaCO3가 주요 치유생성물로 침전되어 치유성능을 향상시켰다.

젖소 액상분뇨에 화학제재를 첨가 시 질소 함량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Chemical Additives on Nitrogen Contents in Dairy Slurry)

  • To determine changes in nitrogen contents and optimal rates as N fertilizer, we investigated nitrogen characteristics in the slurry in the respond to the application of 0, 0.5, and 1 g of ferrous sulfate or alum /25g of dairy slurry. Additions of ferrous sulfate or alum increase total nitrogen, inorganic nitrogen, available nitrogen, and predicted available nitrogen contents in dairy slurry, resulting in reduction in pH. The best results were found in the treatment with 0.5 g of ferrous sulfate or alum /25 g of dairy slurry. In conclusion, the use of ferrous sulfate or alum as on-farm amendment to dairy slurry should be represented an alternative to improve N in dairy slurry.

무기계 가소성 그라우트의 개발 및 공학적 특성 (Development of Thixotropic Inorganic-Type Grout and Its Engineering Characteristics)

  • A thixotropic grout has been developed for the use of filling a tail void in the shield TBM and as well as various ground voids. The grout developed in this study is a mixture of inorganic substance, cement and some functional additives. Its engineering characteristics was investigated by measuring a viscosity and unconfined compressive strengths. The optimum mix proportion for an effective thixotropic grout was proposed through several repeated laboratory tests. The various physical properties such as thixotropy, unconfined compressive strengths, and durability of the thixotropic grout and the gels produced from the grout were compared with those of the well-known waterglass-type grout such as L.W.. The thixotropic grout developed in the study exhibited an excellent performance for back-filling of tail voids in the shield TBM based on experimental results compared to the existing waterglass grout.

Modification of Hydroxyapatite-gelatin Nanocomposite using Side Group Reaction of Ca2+-RCOO-

  • In the preparation of a hydroxyapatite [HAp]/gelatin [GEL] nanocomposite, the GEL matrix in aqueous solution of $H_3PO_4$ was modified by the introduction of aspartic acid [Asp], asparagine [Asn], and glycine [Gly]. The addition of Asp, Asn and Gly greatly affected the slurry formation of HAp/GEL nanocomposite and the resulting dry body showed variations in toughness with the addition of the different amino acids. The introduction of Asn into HAp/GEL nanocomposite was effective for producing the organic-inorganic interaction between HAp and GEL, and caused the increase of toughness. The formation reaction of the modified HAP/GEL nanocomposites was investigated by using XRD and FT-IR. The organic-organic interaction between the GEL matrix and the additives of Asp, Asn and Gly was confirmed from FT-IR analysis, and the organic-inorganic interaction between HAp nanocrystallites and the modified GEL matrix was also discussed, using FT-IR spectra patterns. Nanocrystallites of HAp were covalently bound with the GEL macromolecules and differently influenced by the modification species of Asp, Asn, and Gly.

  • Color Index의 염료 분류 방법은 chemical type에 따라 25개 구조 분류(예로, 아조, 안트라퀴논, tryarylmethane 등) 그리고, 염료의 응용 범위에 따라 19개 속명(Acid, Direct, Disperse, Reactive 등)을 사용한다. 상품화되어 있는 수많은 염료는 현재 생산 회사의 상품명과 Color Index generic name을 보편적으로 사용하고 있으나, 체계적인 화학명은 복잡할 뿐 만 아니라, 상업적 이유로 많은 경우 밝히지 않고 있다. (중략)
