Intellectual Property Disputes in the Era of the Metaverse: Complexities of Cross-Border Justice and Arbitration Consideration

  • The emergence of the metaverse, a complex three-dimensional virtual environment, has led to significant changes in the intellectual property (IP) landscape. This paper examines the challenges and legal intricacies of IP within the virtual realm, focusing on the unprecedented nature of these disputes and on the inadequacies of traditional jurisdiction methods. Drawing from international frameworks, including the International Law Association's Guidelines and WIPO's guides, the study critically explores arbitration as an alternate approach to metaverse IP disputes, analyzing its complexities and applicability. The paper further delves into challenges arising from diverse protection laws that pertain to the global nature of the metaverse, including the nuances of various digital assets like NFTs. By assessing jurisdictional difficulties, the paper addresses the adoption of decentralized justice platforms, and examines the role of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods, this paper presents a comprehensive view of the evolving virtual legal field. It suggests that while innovative methods are emerging, traditional arbitration will likely remain the preferred choice for complex disputes, offering a balance of speed, cost-effectiveness, and legal robustness within the virtual world.

Industry 4.0 환경에서의 작업자 정신 및 신체 건강 상태 모니터링 연구 동향 분석 (Analysis of Research Trends in Monitoring Mental and Physical Health of Workers in the Industry 4.0 Environment)

  • Industry 4.0 has brought about significant changes in the roles of workers through the introduction of innovative technologies. In smart factory environments, workers are required to interact seamlessly with robots and automated systems, often utilizing equipment enhanced by Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies. This study aims to systematically analyze recent research literature on monitoring the physical and mental states of workers in Industry 4.0 environments. Relevant literature was collected using the Web of Science database, employing a comprehensive keyword search strategy involving terms related to Industry 4.0 and health monitoring. The initial search yielded 1,708 documents, which were refined to 923 journal articles. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer, a tool for visualizing bibliometric data. The study identified general trends in the publication years, countries of authors, and research fields. Keywords were clustered into four main areas: 'Industry 4.0', 'Internet of Things', 'Machine Learning', and 'Monitoring'. The findings highlight that research on health monitoring of workers in Industry 4.0 is still emerging, with most studies focusing on using wearable devices to monitor mental and physical stress and risks. This study provides a foundational overview of the current state of research on health monitoring in Industry 4.0, emphasizing the need for continued exploration in this critical area to enhance worker well-being and productivity.

광 포획 향상을 위한 다중 아키텍처 식각 기술을 적용한 박막 실리콘 태양전지에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thin-Film Silicon Solar Cells with Multi-Architecture Etching Technique to Improve Light Trapping)

  • This work focuses on improving the light-harvesting efficiency of thin-film silicon solar cells through innovative multi-architecture surface modifications. To create a regular optical structure, a lithographic process was performed to form it on a glass substrate through various etching processes, from Etch-1 to Etch-3. AZO was deposited on top of the structures and re-etched to create a multi-architectural surface. These surface-modified structures improved the light absorption and overall performance of the solar cell through changes in optical and physical properties, which we will analyze. In addition, we investigated the effect of post-cleaning on the etched glass structures through EDX analysis to understand the mechanism of the etching action. The results of this study are expected to provide important guidelines for the design and fabrication of solar cells and other photovoltaic devices.

Role of Organizational Commitment on Work Performance in Distribution Department of AMCs

  • Purpose: The current study focused on work performance of distribution department of AMC (asset management company) industry in China, outlines the challenges faced by distribution employees of Chinese four biggest national AMCs, aiming to enhance the ability of Chinese national AMCs to succeed in the face of external challenges such as economic, social, and technological changes. Research design, data and methodology: This study adopted quantitative methods, questionnaire was collected from 248 general distribution department employees of four national AMCs of China, these employees are from the top 5 developed cities in China, and software Smart PLS 3.0 and SPSS 25 was applied to data analysis. Results: The result of this current study through Smart PLS 3.0 has revealed that the significant effect of affective commitment on contextual performance, affective commitment on task performance, continuance commitment on contextual performance, normative commitment on contextual performance, and effect of continuance commitment on task performance and normative commitment on task performance were found to be non-significant. Conclusions: According to the important role of distribution department, managers in China's national AMCs can leverage the study's findings to enhance organizational commitment among employees of distribution department, and further positively influences distribution department employees' work performance.

Obstacle Zone by Target 기반 선박 충돌회피 알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Collision Avoidance Algorithm Based on Obstacle Zone by Target)

  • In the 21st century, the rapid development of automation and artificial intelligence technologies is driving innovative changes in various industrial sectors. In the transportation industry, this is evident with the commercialization of autonomous vehicles. Moreover research into autonomous navigation technologies is actively underway in the aviation and maritime sectors. Consequently, for the practical implementation of autonomous ships, an effective collision avoidance algorithm has become a crucial element. Therefore, this study proposes a collision avoidance algorithm based on the Obstacle Zone by Target(OZT), which visually represents areas with a high likelihood of collisions with other ships or obstacles. The A-star algorithm was utilized to represent obstacles on a grid and assess collision risks. Subsequently, a collision avoidance algorithm was developed that performs fuzzy control based on calculated waypoints, allowing the vessel to return to its original course after avoiding the collision. Finally, the validity of the proposed algorithm was verified through collision avoidance simulations in various encounter scenarios.

An Investigation of Brand Communication in Small and Medium-sized Cities in China Based on Grounded Theory

  • With the acceleration of China's urbanization process, the economic development and market potential of small and medium-sized cities have been constantly enhanced, with the urbanization competition having been caught in the vortex of homogenization. However, small and medium-sized cities are exposed to limited resources and funds, and therefore need to be more flexible and innovative in the strategy implementation, while urban brand communication is one of the key factors to promote the competitiveness of cities. Taking the small and medium-sized cities in China as the research objects, this study, based on the domestic and foreign theories about the brand communication of small and medium-sized cities, as well as other city-related theories, analyzes textual materials about the current situation and new changes in brand communication of small and medium-sized cities with grounded theory, reflecting on the problems in brand communication in China's small and medium-sized cities. Combining the basic elements of urban brand communication, a model for constructing brand communication strategies for small and medium-sized cities is further proposed, so as to provide the differentiated and distinctive strategies for the construction and communication of urban brands in small and medium-sized cities in China, as well as provide a new perspective and strategy on how to enhance the competitiveness and contribute to the sustainable economic development of small and medium-sized.

메타버스 텔레워크 도입과 효과의 향상에 관한 연구: 인지된 업무생산성, 직무성과, 직무만족도를 중심으로 (A Study on the Introduction and Effectiveness of Metaverse Telework: Focusing on Perceived Work Productivity, Job Performance, and Job Satisfaction)

  • With the spread of COVID-19, non-face-to-face social exchanges around the world have increased, leading to a rise in the demand for telework. The recent advancement in technology has facilitated the emergence of metaverse platforms, with telework utilizing the metaverse gaining significant popularity. Such metaverse telework is signaling innovative changes in the business environment, yet sufficient research has not been conducted. This study analyzed the factors affecting the perceived work productivity, job performance, and job satisfaction of metaverse telework users. To achieve this, an online survey was conducted, focusing on individual factors (self-management tactics, sense of belonging, social presence, IT complexity) and situational factors (perceived workload, organizational support, metaverse telework environment, and flexible work arrangements). Out of the total responses, 358 valid questionnaires were used for the analysis, excluding any insincere responses. The SPSS 27.0 software was employed to verify the research hypotheses. This study proposed effective strategies to enhance the efficiency of telework within the metaverse.

  • 본 연구는 태양광 모듈 탄소인증제를 중심으로 에너지경관의 변동에 주목했다. 세계 태양광시장이 중국 기업 중심으로 재편됨에 따라, 정부는 태양광산업의 경쟁력 강화를 추진했다. 그러나 정부 주도로 구성된 제도는 에너지경관의 역동적인 변화를 담지 못하는 한계가 존재했다. 이를 배경으로, 다층적 관점(multi-level perspective)의 "거시환경-사회기술체제-틈새"로 이어지는 층위를 탐색해 사회기술체제로서 정부와 국내 태양광 기업이 세계시장 변화에 대응하는 과정을 추적했다. 각 층위의 변화 속도와 혁신적 실험이 일어나는 틈새에 대해 주목했던 다층적 관점의 개념적 논의에 문제를 제기하며, 공간에 따라 차별적으로 변동하는 에너지경관을 추적해 이러한 간극을 메우고자 했다. 이러한 공간적 논의는 각 국가별로 상이한 탄소배출계수, 산업 특성 등을 추적해, 구성된 제도에 대해 보다 높은 설명력을 가질 수 있다. 또한, 정부 주도의 재생에너지 정책 도입의 문제점과 함의에 대한 토론을 통해, 보다 현장 중심적인 제도의 형성과 이행의 필요성을 제시한다.

대학도서관 공간변화 동향 및 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Trends and Perceptions of Spatial Changes in University Libraries)

  • 이 연구는 대학도서관 공간변화 동향 및 사서들의 인식조사를 기초로 대학도서관 공간변화의 방향성을 제안하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 2000년부터 2020년까지 대학도서관 공간변화의 특징을 분석하고 설문조사를 통해 공간변화의 문제점을 파악하였다. 조사결과, 지난 20년간 전국 대학도서관에서 총 99건의 신·증축 및 리모델링이 있었고, 최근 대학의 예산 긴축정책에 따라 신·증축보다 리모델링에 치중하는 것으로 나타났다. 공간변화의 특징으로는 이용자들의 요구 수용, 이용자 수 증대를 목적으로 도서관 내 휴게공간 확장과 쾌적하고 안락한 분위기 추구, 혁신적·창의적인 공간 설치 지향 등이 나타났다. 공간변화의 장점은 다양한 공간의 제공과 도서관 방문자 수 증가 등이며, 시설유지비 증가와 관리 인력 부족 등이 문제점으로 조사되었다. 또한 공간변화가 시대적 트렌드만 반영하고 서비스 및 대학도서관의 실질적 가치에 변화가 크지 않은 점, 획일성과 특징 상실 등이 지적되었다. 향후 대학도서관 공간변화는 대학도서관만의 차별성 확보와 다양한 변화에 대한 수용성, 대학도서관의 가치와 존재를 증명할 수 있는 상징성을 지향할 필요가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

미래 교육환경 변화에 따른 의생활교육과정의 방향 (Exploring the Direction of the Clothing Life Education Curriculum according to Changes in the Future Educational Environment)

  • 제4차 산업혁명, 포스트 코로나 시대로의 전환 등 사회적 혁신을 기반으로 모두를 위한 삶의 질을 제고할 수 있는 교육 패러다임의 전환이 필요한 시기이다. 이러한 시대 변화의 흐름을 파악하여 교육과정의 변화를 준비하여야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명, 포스트 코로나 시대로의 패러다임의 변화에 따른 미래 초·중등교육의 방향성이 논의되고 있는 시점에서, '미래교육환경의 변화에 따라 의생활교육은 어떤 혁신적 과제를 수행해야 하는가?'의 문제의식에서 출발하여 미래 교육환경의 변화의 특징과 의생활교육과정을 분석해보고, 이를 바탕으로 의생활교육과정의 방향을 탐색하는데 목적을 두었다. 이러한 연구목적을 수행하기 위해 제1차 교육과정에서부터 2015 개정 교육과정의 의생활교육과정 분석결과를 활용하였다. 결론적으로 미래 교육환경의 변화에 따른 의생활교육과정의 방향으로는 먼저 인재상으로 인공지능(AI)에 인간의 감성과 환경, 의생활문화를 더하는 융·복합교육인재양성, 소프트웨어 역량과 실천적 문제해결 역량을 연계하는 의생활교육, 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 패션 메이커교육과 가치 지향적인 의생활교육 등을 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 실제적 교육현장 적용인 의생활 교수·학습방법에 대한 후속연구가 진행되기를 기대한다.
