IPTV 서비스의 수용과 확산을 위한 정부 정책 프레임워크 분석 (Analyzing Government Policy Frameworks for Promoting Adoption and Diffusion of IPTV Services)

  • 본 논문은 IPTV 서비스의 수용과 확산을 위한 바람직한 정부의 정책 프레임워크를 분석하여 제시하고 있다. 지금까지 대부분의 연구들은 소비자 측면에서 개인적인 IPTV 서비스 수용과 확산에 국한되어져 있었기 때문에 조직관리적인 측면에서의 분석이 미흡한 실정이다. IPTV 서비스가 활성화되기 위해서는 다양한 정부의 지원정책 등이 필요하기 때문에, 본 연구에서는 개인 상황에서의 혁신 속성 이론과 조직 상황에서의 실행 프로세스 이론을 적용하였다. 즉 개인의 혁신성이 높은 경우에는 혁신의 속성들이 IPTV 서비스 수용에 더 큰 영향을 미치며, 혁신 관리 측면에서는 정책적 기대가 높은 상황에서 IPTV 관리 속성들이 수용에 더 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단하였다. 본 연구의 결과 개인의 혁신성이 높을수록, 그리고 이와 함께 정부 정책에 대한 기대가 클수록 혁신의 속성 및 IPTV 관리 속성 모두가 IPTV 수용의도에 미치는 영향력이 높아지기 때문에, 정부 정책은 개인의 혁신성을 자극하면서 정책기대를 높이는 방안이 바람직한 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 지상파 아날로그 텔레비전 방송의 종료시기가 확정됨에 따라 텔레비전 방송의 디지털화에 많은 관심이 집중되고 있어 상대적으로 라디오의 디지털화는 논의의 우선순위에서 밀려나 있지만, 라디오 방송의 디지털 전환 추진도 더 이상 미루기 어려운 시점이라 할 수 있다. 디지털라디오 방송은 아날로그 라디오 방송의 고유한 입지를 고수 하면서 청취자에게 CD 수준의 음질과 다양한 데이터서비스를 제공하여 수용자의 편익과 복지 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 디지털라디오 방송이 시장에 도입되어 활성화되기 위해서는 수용자들의 디지털라디오에 대한 이용 의향이 요구된다. 그러므로 디지털라디오 방송이 수용자들에 의해 채택되고, 이를 바탕으로 확산이 일어나는데 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 면밀한 고찰이 필요한 시점이다. 본 논문에서는 디지털라디오 방송에 대한 산업적 관심과 원활한 수요창출을 유도할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기 위하여, 설문조사를 통해 디지털라디오 방송의 이용에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 이를 통해 향후 디지털라디오 방송이 시작될 경우 수용자의 이해를 바탕으로 디지털라디오 방송시장의 활성화 가능성과 디지털라디오 방송이 제공해야 할 기술적 특성과 서비스의 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다.

가상세계 메타버스 이용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 혁신확산의 관점에서 (A Study on the Factors Affecting the Intention to Use the Virtual World Metaverse: An Innovation Diffusion Perspective)

  • Metaverse is a three-dimensional virtual space where virtual and reality interact and co-evolutionize, and social, cultural, and economic activities are carried out in it to create value. Among the types of metaverse, the virtual world metaverse is expected to bring innovation beyond time and space in all areas of industry and society following the Internet. This study empirically analyzed factors affecting consumer's intention to use the virtual world metaverse by an innovation diffusion perspective. It was analyzed as an expanded technology acceptance model by setting relative advantages, ease of use, and visibility among the attributes of the innovation diffusion, and social presence, telepresence, and interactivity among the characteristics of the virtual worlds as factors. The proposed research model and hypothesis were verified through a PLS structural equation analysis based on a survey of 216 people. Studies have shown that relative advantage, telepresence, and interactivity have a significant effect on perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment, but visibility does not have a significant effect on perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. It was found that ease of use had a positive effect on perceived enjoyment, social presence had a positive effect on perceived usefulness, and perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment had a positive effect on the intention to use, respectively. This study is meaningful in that it empirically analyzed the factors affecting the intention to use the virtual world metaverse by dividing the psychological characteristics that induce consumer behavior into perceived usefulness which is an extrinsic motivation and perceived enjoyment which is an intrinsic motivation.

  • Recently, organizations intend to adopt new information technology for acquiring relative advantages in competitive business environment. Especially, many companies have paid attention to web-based electronic commerce. But research in this area has largely been performed to the operational and technical aspects of web site. Also the World Wide Web(web) has become one of the most widely used information technologies, but research indicates that there are many firm that are still considering whether to establish a web presence. This study examines factors influencing adoption of corporate web site over time. To examine why companies adopt web site, this study regards web site as an innovation and finds out these reason through Innovation Diffusion Theory. Independent variables of this research are composed of innovation characteristics, organizational characteristics and environmental characteristics. By the result of logistic regression analysis, we find that there are significant differences between early adopters and late adopters of web site for three adoption factors : top management support, organization size, environmental uncertainty. These findings confirm the theoretical frame for adoption of corporate web site. Also this study will provide good guidelines to the companies and the vendors in shaping the strategies of IT adoption and IT diffusion respectively.

혁신확산이론에 따른 스마트폰 수용의도에 관한 연구: 스마트폰 미사용자를 중심으로 (A Study on the Acceptance Intention for Smart Phone by the Innovation Diffusion Theory: Focused on Smart Phone Non-Users)

  • This study is progressed for understanding of the acceptance intention differentiated through the view of smart phone non-user's adopting plan. And the research model is proposed in the view of new technology adopting, Innovation Diffusion Theory, Rogers 1995, and Technology Acceptance Model, Davis 1989. In the survey, SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 are used to analyze the 685 smart phone non-users data. The results of the feasibility analysis and the factor analysis show the measured variables determined in the statistical significant range. Also, 11 hypotheses, among the 16 hypotheses, are adopted by the hypothesis tests through the path analysis, one-way-ANOVA and hierarchial regression analysis. The results indicate variables affect on the non-smart phone user's adopting intention. The primary factor is the perceived usefulness, secondary factor is the social property, and the rest is the playfulness. And, the primary adoption factor is affected to early majority and late majority among each innovation adopters.

  • 본 연구는 혁신확산이론과 혁신저항모델을 적용하여 소셜TV 혁신저항과 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하였다. 주요 결과를 중심으로 살펴보면, 첫째, 소셜TV 비이용자의 지각된 혁신특성 중 적합성과 복잡성은 혁신저항에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 소셜TV 비이용자의 인지된 위험은 혁신저항에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 소셜TV 비이용자의 지각된 혁신특성 중 적합성과 복잡성은 이용의도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 소셜TV 비이용자의 인지된 위험은 소셜TV 이용의도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못한 것으로 나타났다.

Diffusion of ICT from the view of ICT generation: The experience in the UK during the 1980s

  • This paper aims to provide a better understanding about how Information and Communication technology (ICT) has diffused. The investigation is conducted with the consideration of ICT evolution in terms of technological change and usage pattern. The definition used is presented as 'the ICT is a process of convergence of technologies between information-processing and information-transforming technologies, mainly due to the advent of microelectronlcs'. After examining technological changes of ICT, the diffusion path of ICT is traced through the usage ratio in total input and/or investment based on Input-Output tables (I-O). It shows that the evolution of ICT from the change of usage pattern is an up-and-down usage pattern rather than a uni-modal usage time path. With this recognition, the diffusion index is prepared.   • Our society has long been talking about necessity for innovation. Since companies in particular need to carry out business innovation in their overall processes, they have attempted to apply many innovation factors on sites and become to pay more attention to their innovation. In order to achieve this goal, companies has applied various information technologies (IT) on sites as a means of innovation, and consequently IT have been greatly developed. It is natural for the field of IT to have faced another revolution which is called cloud computing, which is expected to result in innovative changes in software application via the Internet, data storing, the use of devices, and their operations. As a vehicle of innovation, cloud computing is expected to lead the changes and advancement of our society and the business world. Although many scholars have researched on a variety of topics regarding the innovation via IT, few studies have dealt with the issue of could computing as IT. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to set the variables of innovation attributes based on the previous articles as the characteristic variables and clarify how these variables affect "Performance Expectancy" of companies and the intention of using cloud computing. The result from the analysis of data collected in this study is as follows. The study utilized a research model developed on the innovation diffusion theory to identify influences on the adaptation and spreading IT for cloud computing services. Second, this study summarized the characteristics of cloud computing services as a new concept that introduces innovation at its early stage of adaptation for companies. Third, a theoretical model is provided that relates to the future innovation by suggesting variables for innovation characteristics to adopt cloud computing services. Finally, this study identified the factors affecting expectation and the intention to use the cloud computing service for the companies that consider adopting the cloud computing service. As the parameter and dependent variable respectively, the study deploys the independent variables that are aligned with the characteristics of the cloud computing services based on the innovation diffusion model, and utilizes the expectation for performance and Intention to Use based on the UTAUT theory. Independent variables for the research model include Relative Advantage, Complexity, Compatibility, Cost Saving, Trialability, and Observability. In addition, 'Acceptance for Adaptation' is applied as an adjustment variable to verify the influences on the expected performances from the cloud computing service. The validity of the research model was secured by performing factor analysis and reliability analysis. After confirmatory factor analysis is conducted using AMOS 7.0, the 20 hypotheses are verified through the analysis of the structural equation model, accepting 12 hypotheses among 20. For example, Relative Advantage turned out to have the positive effect both on Individual Performance and on Strategic Performance from the verification of hypothesis, while it showed meaningful correlation to affect Intention to Use directly. This indicates that many articles on the diffusion related Relative Advantage as the most important factor to predict the rate to accept innovation. From the viewpoint of the influence on Performance Expectancy among Compatibility and Cost Saving, Compatibility has the positive effect on both Individual Performance and on Strategic Performance, while it showed meaningful correlation with Intention to Use. However, the topic of the cloud computing service has become a strategic issue for adoption in companies, Cost Saving turns out to affect Individual Performance without a significant influence on Intention to Use. This indicates that companies expect practical performances such as time and cost saving and financial improvements through the adoption of the cloud computing service in the environment of the budget squeezing from the global economic crisis from 2008. Likewise, this positively affects the strategic performance in companies. In terms of effects, Trialability is proved to give no effects on Performance Expectancy. This indicates that the participants of the survey are willing to afford the risk from the high uncertainty caused by innovation, because they positively pursue information about new ideas as innovators and early adopter. In addition, they believe it is unnecessary to test the cloud computing service before the adoption, because there are various types of the cloud computing service. However, Observability positively affected both Individual Performance and Strategic Performance. It also showed meaningful correlation with Intention to Use. From the analysis of the direct effects on Intention to Use by innovative characteristics for the cloud computing service except the parameters, the innovative characteristics for the cloud computing service showed the positive influence on Relative Advantage, Compatibility and Observability while Complexity, Cost saving and the likelihood for the attempt did not affect Intention to Use. While the practical verification that was believed to be the most important factor on Performance Expectancy by characteristics for cloud computing service, Relative Advantage, Compatibility and Observability showed significant correlation with the various causes and effect analysis. Cost Saving showed a significant relation with Strategic Performance in companies, which indicates that the cost to build and operate IT is the burden of the management. Thus, the cloud computing service reflected the expectation as an alternative to reduce the investment and operational cost for IT infrastructure due to the recent economic crisis. The cloud computing service is not pervasive in the business world, but it is rapidly spreading all over the world, because of its inherited merits and benefits. Moreover, results of this research regarding the diffusion innovation are more or less different from those of the existing articles. This seems to be caused by the fact that the cloud computing service has a strong innovative factor that results in a new paradigm shift while most IT that are based on the theory of innovation diffusion are limited to companies and organizations. In addition, the participants in this study are believed to play an important role as innovators and early adapters to introduce the cloud computing service and to have competency to afford higher uncertainty for innovation. In conclusion, the introduction of the cloud computing service is a critical issue in the business world.

  • 헬스케어의 패러다임이 질병치료 중심에서 예방 및 관리 중심으로 변화함에 따라 자신의 건강을 관리하는 트렌드와 더불어 모바일 헬스케어의 성장세가 지속되고 있다. 모바일 헬스케어의 기술은 지속적으로 성장하고 있지만, 소비자의 수용은 다소 부진하다. 이에 모바일 헬스케어와 관련된 다양한 연구가 진행되어 왔지만, 수용자의 특성을 고려한 연구는 부족한 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 모바일 헬스케어의 혁신 확산 요인이 이용의도에 미치는 영향 관계를 파악하고, 이 영향관계에서 혁신 성향의 조절 효과를 검정하였다. 연구 결과 모바일 헬스케어의 상대적 유익성, 적합성, 관찰 가능성, 유용성이 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 복잡성, 시험 가능성, 유용성이 이용의도에 미치는 영향 관계에서 혁신 성향의 조절 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 혁신 성향이라는 개념을 이용하여 혁신 확산 요인과 이용의도와의 영향 관계에서 주요한 조절 변수임을 확인하였음에 시사점을 갖는다. 또한 모바일 헬스케어의 공급자 입장에서 소비자의 혁신 성향을 고려되어야 하는 요인임을 시사한다.
