  • This study analyses the actual conditions and efficiency of supplier relations of If equipment industries of Korea. The fact-finding survey we conducted includes PCs, mobile phone handsets, and public switching equipments. The survey shows that there is room for improvement in the aspect of assignment of roles among suppliers in R&D activities.

  • A vocabulary for a understanding bridge has a different scope. There are the urban setting, landscape, lightness, from minimum to maximum, continuity, material, erection, motion and dynamic. Aesthetics criteria of footbridge design are movement and grace, space and experiment, symbolism, iconic, sculpture, innovation, spectacle, lighting, gemetry and wonder. New structural concepts of pedestrian bridges are presented on examples of recently built structures. The main characteristics of described structures are appropriateness, humanity, structural efficiency and aesthetics.

The Role of Digital Technology in Climate Technology Innovation

  • In this paper, I empirically estimate the relationship between digital technology and climate technology using the United States Patent and Trademark Office's patent database. I find that innovation in digital technology increases the number of patents for climate technology by 17.3% on average, with digital data-processing technology and machine-learning-related technologies especially playing a key role in this relationship. Designing and implementing detailed policies that take into account the relationship between the two technologies will help us reduce the time required to achieve carbon neutrality and shift to the digital economy.

  • Six sigma, contrary to TQM, offers the concrete process for accomplishing the management innovation. Nowadays it has become as a standard means. Many companies claim to stand for durable management and would like to get customers' satisfaction and more profit with total six sigma activities. Under the present conditions we propose how to maximize efficiency with six sigma application on transportation management that is an issue among many companies.

  • In this research, the world top steel companies' technical changes were measured by the nonparametric Malmquist index. Steel industry's production frontier which was composed of multiple inputs and multiple outputs was defined by using real data of the companies from 1986 to 1998, and then the variability of technical progress(or regress) was analyzed during that period. The dynamics of individual steel companies\` technical changes, periodical technical changes, and each country's technical chanties were explained. A matrix which was based on technical chanties, technical efficiency changes, and scale efficiency changes was designed to assist to find out current position and In build up future strategies. This research results will be an valuable input to the early stage of formulating competitive strategy because the technical core capability is an important source of the each companies's competitiveness.

  • This experimental study suggests some alternatives for stable growth and environmental conservation, responding to the unstability of global energy market and the regulations to greenhouse gas reduction. It introduces the energy-chain approach optimizing the whole processes extending energy production, transfer, and exploitation. And the alternatives are covered from low-carbon & environment-friendly energy-specific innovation system, transformation of major industries to low-carbon & environment-friendly industries, upgrading of energy efficiency, procurement of energy sources to policy cluster.

  • Since 1996 when Kosdaq market was set up, serious doubt has been raised regarding the efficiency of the market. The most important question is whether this market can reflect the real value of the venture company quoted on it. In order to answer this question, this study aimed to evaluate venture companies in Kosdaq market adopting the concept of real option theory. From the results of empirical analysis, we found that in the early 2000, there was serious over-valuation problem. On the contrary, in the recent period of economic recession, under-valuation problem is quite prevalent. We also present our methodology and empirical results confirm the conjecture that option premium outweighs the DCF valor for the newly born and high-technology intensive venture companies. We hope that the empirical results shed some light on the policy prescription to improve the efficiency of Kosdaq market.

  • High energy-efficiency TFT-LCD supporting a good image quality is developed with Data Rendering Innovation Matrix Technology. The innovative matrix consists of octal sub-pixels and sub-pixel rendering technology enhanced the light efficiency; up to 30%, and reduces the number of column drivers for the same resolution by a third.

  • This paper studies the efficiency of public sector confronting with increasing oil price, economy crisis and energy-environment problems. In consideration that efficiency of national R&D program has been subjectively evaluated, this paper focuses objective validity by relative efficiency through a comparison among R&D programs in Korea. To implement this study, data published in national reports on R&D programs is used and analyzing method is induced by related books and theories. At the result of Data Envelopment Analysis on the collected data, this paper suggests the way to enhance the efficiency of nuclear R&D program. This study is the first on efficiency of national R&D programs applied DEA methods and is expected to contribute exploring the more efficient way of program management if more sophisticated DEA could be developed and applied.
