Purpose - This paper is an empirical investigation of the mediation effect of innovation activity in industry transformation considering the relationship between the semiconductor industry and high-quality economic development. The research questions are whether the semiconductor industry drives high-quality economic development and if so, what is the semiconductor industry's role in high-quality development? We found that the semiconductor industry has clearly improved the quality of economic development, and its comparative advantage has significantly increased per capita national incomes. Furthermore, innovation activity proved to be an intermediary factor for the semiconductor industry to promote high-quality economic development. The world economy should aim to reasonably develop the international semiconductor industry and cultivate innovation markets. Design/methodology - Our empirical model considers the relationship between the semiconductor industry, innovation activity, and high-quality economic development. We constructed an analysis framework based on data from 199 World Bank economies between 1995 and 2019, and we used a mediation effect method to calculate the total effect of the semiconductor industry on promoting high-quality economic development, the indirect effect of the semiconductor industry on promoting innovation activity, and the mediation effect of these innovation activities on the promotion of high-quality economic development. Findings - The results show that the semiconductor industry has significantly promoted high-quality economic development. This is true even after the robustness test of grouping and alternative variables was applied. An analysis of the mechanism shows that promoting patents, scientific research, efficient government, and urban management innovation are important mechanisms for the semiconductor industry to release high-quality development dividends. Originality/value - Although it has been shown that specific industries like semiconductors can affect high-quality economic development through industrial upgrading, few researchers have attempted to empirically test the impact of the semiconductor industry on high-quality economic development. In this paper, we use a mediation effect model, alternative variables and a grouping test to find the internal mechanisms of the comparative advantage of the semiconductor industry in high-quality economic development from the perspective of innovation activity.

Researchers have confirmed the relationship between ambidexterity learning and innovation performance, but according to the resource-based theory, the relationship between ambidexterity learning and innovation performance is also affected by the internal resources of the organization. Internal resources are an important factor affecting the transformation of learning outcomes into performance. In addition, few scholars have pointed out whether different types of learning have different effects on different types of innovation performance. This study collects data from 170 High-tech enterprises in Shandong, china, and discusses the effects of exploitative learning and explorative learning on management innovation performance and technological innovation performance. This study further examines the moderating role of slack resource on the relationship between ambidexterity learning and innovation performance. Results show that ambidexterity learning has positive effect on innovation performance. Compared with exploitative learning, explorative learning has a greater impact on management innovation performance; compared with explorative learning, exploitative learning has a greater impact on technological innovation performances. Slack resource has positive moderating role between the relationship of exploitative learning, explorative learning and technology innovation performance. But Slack resource has no moderating role between the relationship of exploitative learning, explorative learning and management innovation performance.

The effect of technological innovation on the high-quality development of the producer services industry depends on whether or not technical innovation efficiency plays a key role. This study looks at the impact of technological innovation and financial technology (fintech) on the development of high-quality producer services in Fujian Province from 2010 to 2019. The efficiency of technological innovation is measured using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and the Malmquist productivity index. The mean overall innovation efficiency score is 0.639, meaning that Fujian accounts for 36.1% of resource utilization inefficiencies and that there are significant differences in technological innovation efficiency between cities. The findings show that high-quality producer services industries benefited from innovation efficiency, but that the influence of technological innovation efficiency is insignificant. This demonstrates that financial innovation has not been able to completely enhance the development level of the producer services industry. This may be due to the unreasonable output structure of technological innovation and the low industrial transformation rate of technological achievements. This study advocates that the R&D fund allocation structure be optimized. That technological innovation can improve the high-quality development of the producer services industry is a consensus within the academic community.

This study aims at examining each firm's decision-makings of complex product and system (hereafter CoPS) innovation strategy, so that it tries to reveal the nature and role of CoPS innovations strategy. And it designed a comparative case study along with qualitative methods, by having two mobile operators' digital rights management (hereafter DRM) innovation in South Korea's digital music service industry. Through literature review, this study formulated three research propositions: (i) Each firm's decision-makings of CoPS innovations strategy are analytical negotiation process among economic actors in an industry; (ii) Each firm's market power originated from its market share from the installed base through network effect and switching cost influence decision-makings of CoPS innovation strategies; (iii) Each firm's decision-makings of different CoPS innovation strategies are related to their intension of achieving better market power, consequently dominant design. Through empirical examination of two mobile operators' decision-makings of DRM innovation strategy, this study empirically verified three research propositions.

This study aims at analyzing the relationship between team characteristic and innovation performance. The mediating effect of creative climate on the team characteristic and innovation performance is also measured. Based upon literature review, individual creative characteristics, team diversity, team cohesion, task characteristics are presented as antecedents of team characteristic. Creative climate affects the creative behavior and innovative performance. Creative climate is measured as the Team Climate Inventory (TCI) proposed by Anderson & West (1998) including goal, participative-autonomy and innovative-support. Data were collected from 186 survey responses (54 Teams) out of total 462 (69 teams) from the R&D department of a major ICT firm in Korea. Empirical results show the diversity, cohesion, job characteristic, individual creative characteristic have a positive effect on the creative climate and innovation performance. The participative-autonomy climate factor appears to mediate the relationship between team characteristic (diversity, cohesion, job and individual characteristics) and innovation performance. However, the mediating effects of goals and innovative-support factors were not significant statistically. It was confirmed that the organization can contribute to improve the team innovation performance by facilitating a autonomy and participative climate as well as fostering the team characteristic.

This paper reviewed the relationship between personal factors(creativity, outwarding, entrepreneurship) and incremental innovation, and the moderating effect of tenure in the domestic service enterprises. Based on the responses from 306 employees, the results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that all personal factors except creativity have positive relationships with incremental innovation factors. The results of moderating analysis showed that entrepreneurship have more positive effects on all incremental innovation factors while respondents' tenure being shorter.

The technological innovation of IT manufacturing firms is the competitive tool for them to survive in the environment of an intensive competition. This technological innovation is critical in the survival of IT companies, but various factors should be considered to embody technological innovation effect. This paper aims to identify the determinant factors of the outcome which influence the technological innovation based on the IT companies, and set up a model for measuring technological innovation effect. A hypothesis was established for the impact relation between technological innovation effect, cooperative relation and government support level, which was verified through the structural equation model(SEM). As a result, the cooperation of IT companies and the governmental support affect the effectiveness of technological innovation. Eventually, government support for IT manufacturing firms derive business collaboration and continuous support is needed.

The study was conducted to compare organizational innovation depending on the leadership type of middle managers in general hospital. Moreover, the study was also to prove whether employees'readiness causes any differences to the link between leadership and organizational innovation. The result is based on 769 sheets of survey paper answered by administrations and nurses working at general hospitals or the same level of hospitals located in the metropolitan area. The methods of analysis used are as follows: reliability analysis, frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Main results of the study can be summarized as below. First, by analyzing the influence of task-behavior leadership on organizational innovation, R squre on knowledge management which is organizational innovation factor was 12.5%, R squre on creativity was 9.1%, and R squre on innovation behavior was 10.3%. Regression model appeared to be statistically significant as well. Both task-behavior and relationship-behavior leadership have influence on organizational innovation and it is learned that relationship-behavior leadership has a bigger influence on all the organizational innovation factors. Second, moderating effect of the employee's readiness is examined in terms of the link between leadership and organizational innovation. As a result, the member's readiness had positive influence when it comes to the link between leadership and organizational innovation. Also, after verifying moderating effect of readiness (ability/willingness), this study shows that ability readiness has positive influence on the link between task-behavior(or relationship-behavior) leadership and creativity, and innovation behavior while willingness readiness positively influences the link between task-behavior(or relationship-behavior) leadership and creativity & innovation behavior. To summarize results of the study, this study shows that the members who possess high readiness also have high organizational innovation, which promises their positive role in a group.

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether innovation activities of logistics firms affect innovation performance and service quality improvement and whether innovation performance and service quality as a result of innovation activities affect these firm's business performance. First, I undertake a review of previous studies and theories related to innovation activity and innovation performance. Additionally, previous studies on improvement of service quality along through innovation performance were analyzed. Based on this, I set up a research structure and hypotheses. To this end, I used the workplace panel survey data of the Korea Labor Institute(KLI) and used a total of 88 samples. I use the Partial Least Square(PLS) approach to structural equation modeling. The results of the empirical analysis show that innovation activities of logistics firms have a positive effect on innovation performance and service quality improvement, and innovation performance and service quality have a positive effect on financial performance. Evidently, innovation activities bring a clear competitive advantage to the logistics firms and improve their service quality. This implies the ability of logistics firms to survive amidst competition while getting a competitive edge.
