  • This study was considered to occur the local wall thinning at elbow which is flowing the steam and high-pressure water of high-temperature. The angle of elbow is ${\Theta}=45^{\circ}$ and $67.545^{\circ}$. The damage behaviors of inner or outer wall thinning elbow under internal pressure were calculated by FEA(finite element analysis). We compared the simulated results by FEA with experimental data. The FEA results are as follows: In the FEA results of three types of wall thinning ratio, the circumferential and longitudinal stresses show the similar values regardless of the angle of elbow, respectively. The circumferential strain was greater at elbow of small angle, but the longitudinal strain was nearly same. The FEM stress of outer wall thinning elbow was slightly higher than that of the inner wall thinning elbow, and strain was also slightly higher. In the experiments, the circumferential strain was increased with the increase in the internal pressure, and increased rapidly on about 0.2% of strain. The longitudinal strain was small. The strain at break was much smaller than 0.2%. In the relation between pressure and eroded ratio, the criteria that can be used safely under operating pressure and design pressure were obtained. The results of FEA were in relatively good agreement with those of the experiment.

  • A comprehensive vibration assessment program for the Advanced Power Reactor 1400 reactor vessel internals is established in accordance with the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide 1.20 Revision 3. This paper is related to instruments and measurement locations based on the vibration and stress response analysis results at the inner barrel assembly top plate in the reactor. The analysis results of the inner barrel assembly top plate in the reactor show that the deterministic stress and deformation due to the reactor coolant pump induced pressure pulsations are larger than the random stress and deformation induced by the flow turbulence. The selection of the instruments and measurement locations at Inner barrel assembly top plate in the reactor is essential requirements and very important study process for the vibration and stress measurement program in comprehensive vibration assessment program for the Advanced Power Reactor 1400 reactor vessel internals.

  • For grid-connected LCL-filtered inverters, resonance yields instability and low bandwidth. As a result, careful designs are required. This paper presents a systematic current control structure, where pole assignment consisting of one or more feedbacks is the inner loop, and the outer loop is the direct grid current control. Several other issues are discussed, such as the inner-loop feedback choices, pole-assignment algorithms, robustness and harmonic rejection. Generally, this kind of strategy has three different types according to the inner-loop feedback choices. Among them, a novel pole-assignment algorithm has been proposed, where the inner control maintains four freely-assigned poles which are just two pairs of conjugated poles located at the fundamental and resonance frequencies separately. It has been found that with the different types, the steady-state and dynamic performances are quite different. Finally, simulations and experiments have been provided to verify the control and design of the proposed methods.

  • Grid-connected converters have widely adopted LCL filters to acquire high harmonic suppression. However, the LCL filter increases the system order so that the design of the system stability would be complicated. Recently, sole-loop control strategies have been used for grid-connected converters with L or LC filters. But if the sole-loop control is directly transplanted to grid-connected converters with LCL filters, the systems may be unstable. This paper presents a novel dual-loop power control strategy composed of a power outer loop and a current inner loop. The outer loop regulates the grid-connected power. The inner loop improves the system stability margin and suppresses the resonant peak caused by the LCL filter. To obtain the control variables, a single-phase current detection is proposed based on PQ theory. The system transfer function is derived in detail and the influence of control gains on the system stability is analyzed with the root locus. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed control.

  • When rotating the clutch drum in the power take-off (PTO) gear box of an armored recovery vehicle, lots of inner oil is drained through the adapter by centrifugal force. Therefore, a lack of lubrication is caused by inner oil loss, and the bearing is damaged by overheating. This study, therefore, aims to design an oil-controlling adapter by using shape alteration to prevent oil loss. Both the original and improved adapters were tested at 1,800rpm by using an operational test machine. When applying the original adapter to the gear box, the bearing was damaged by overheating, which was caused by the lack of lubrication. When applying the improved oil-controlling adapter, on the other hand, it prevented the loss of inner oil. Applying the improved adapter is expected to prevent the overheating caused by lack of lubrication.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the concept spirituality and to gain understanding of nursing intervention that may improve spiritual well-being. The concept analysis framework developed by Walker and Avant (1995) was used to clarify the concept. In the study, 'Harmonious interconnectedness', 'Transcendence', 'Integrative Energy' and 'Purpose and Meaning in Life' emerged as the critical attributes of spirituality. The first attribute, 'harmonious Inter- connectedness', has three categories including intrapersonal, (self), interpersonal (others/ nature) and transpersonal (the Supreme Being). The second attribute, 'Transcendence', is defined as the ability to extend one's own self beyond the limits of usual experiences and to achieve new perspectives. This attribute is demonstrated by 'coping with situations', to 'self-healing', and 'transformation'. The third attribute of spirituality is 'Integrative Energy', which integrates all dimensions and acts as a creative and dynamic force that keeps a person growing and changing. 'Integrative Energy is also defined as an inner resource that gives a sense of empowerment. Therefore the highly spiritual person demonstrate 'inner peace', 'growing', 'inner strength,' and 'well-being'. The fourth attribute 'Purpose and Meaning in Life' represents a sense of connectedness with one's inner values and with a greater purpose in life. It is demonstrated by 'hope' and 'a powerful life'. In this study, the antecedents of the spirituality represented as 'spirit' and its potential enablers were 'Introspection/reflection', 'Interconnectedness with all living things', and an 'Awareness of a Higher-Power'. The consequences of this concept may be described as 'physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being'. Empirical referents of this are 'purposeful life' 'self-worth' 'hope' 'love' 'service' 'forgiveness' 'trust/belief' 'inner peace' 'self-actualization' 'religious practices' 'transformation' 'inner strength' and 'coping'. In conclusion, spirituality can be defined based on these critical attributes. Spirituality is a dynamic, integrative energy based on a feeling of harmonious interconnection with self, others and a higher power. Through it, one is enabled to transcend and to live with meaning and purpose in life.

  • This paper focuses on evaluating the performance of a cellular network using power control based frequency reuse partitioning (FRP) in downlink (DL). In our work, in order to have the realistic environment, the spectral efficiency of the system is evaluated through traffic analysis, which most of the previous works did not consider. To further decrease the cell edge user's outage, the concept of power ratio is introduced and applied to the DL FRP based cellular network. In considering network topology, we first divide the cell coverage area into two regions, the inner and outer regions. We then allocate different sub-bands in the inner and outer regions of each cell. In the analysis, for each zone ratio, the performance of FRP system is evaluated for the given number of power ratios. We consider performance metrics such as call blocking probability, channel utilization, outage probability and effective throughput. The simulation results show that there is a significant improvement in the outage experienced by outer UEs with power control scheme compared to that with no power control scheme and an increase in overall system throughput.

  • In this study, we analyze the structure of the transceiver coil in the inductive power transfer (IPT) system. In the IPT system, the transceiver coil design needs to have the highest magnetic coupling possible because of the relatively low magnetic coupling due to the large gap of distance without the core. The transmitting coil may be formed as a multi-layer type according to the distance between the transmitting and receiving coils if the receiving coil is configured as a multi-layer type on the inner structure of the receiving apparatus, thereby improving the magnetic coupling and system efficiency. We compare and analyze the coil magnetic coupling, and system efficiency according to the layer structure of the transmitting and receiving coils and verify the analysis by JMAG simulation. Experimental results show that the layer structure of the transceiver should be considered according to the inner space of the receiving device and the spacing distance.

  • The inner side between HP stationary blades in #1 turbine of Nuclear Power Plant A is damaged by the FAC(flow assisted corrosion) which is exposed to moisture. For many years the inner side is repaired by welding the damaged part, however, FAC continues to deteriorate the original material of the welded blade ring. In this study, we have two stages to verify the integrity of stationary blade ring in nuclear power plant A. In the stage I, replication of blade ring is performed to survey the microstructure of blade ring. In the stage II, the stress analysis of blade ring is performed to verify the structural safety of blade ring. Throughout the two stages analysis of blade ring, the stationary blade ring had remained undamaged.
