Suction과 blow fan을 이용한 연소기내의 부분 예혼합화염 연소 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on Premixed Combustion Characteristics with Suction & Blow Fans)

  • We measured emission indices for $NO_x$, CO, temperature and radical characteristics for partially premixied flames formed by suction & blow fans air condition. At sufficiently high levels of partial premixing a double flame structure consisting of a rich premixed inner flame and outer diffusion flame was established similar to that previously observed in premixed flames. $NO_x$, Temperature. CO concentration were experimented with approximately constant air flow rate and decreasing equivalence ratios. The reduction in $NO_x$, and temperature at suction condition as compared with that for blow condition was approximately 20%, but on the contrary, CO emission was increased. In addition, We measured temperature distributions and found that temperature increased continuously with increasing partial premixing. We also estimated CH, $C_2$ radical intensity. CH and $C_2$ radicals provide evidence that, for the present measurement, CH and $C_2$ radicals intensity was associsated with their premixed component. And we observed stronger $C_2$, CH radicals intensity at suction conditions than blow conditions.

인장-전단하중을 받는 일점 Spot용접재의 파괴역학적 피로강도 평가 (Fracture mechanical evaluation of fatigue strength of a single spot welded lap joint under tension-shear load)

  • According as the members and inner and outer plates of the automobile body structure have been thinned their thickness and have become high strength, each part of the body structure has been put more severe stress condition. Therefore, it has been increasingly required to improve the fatigue strength of the spot welded structures. As one of the improving methods for such problem, the author had previously proposed the method of alleviating stress concentration at nugget edge of the spot weld part and improving its fatigue strength [1]. But, because fatigue strength of the spot welded lap joint is influenced by its geometrical and mechanical factors, welding condition and etc., there needs a quantitative and systematic estimation method of them. In this report, by considering nugget edge of the spot weld part of the spot welded lap joint subjected to tensile load to the ligament crack, fatigue strength of various spot welded lap joints was estimated with the stress intensity factor (S.I.F.) K which is fracture mechanical parameter. It is known that evaluation of fatigue strength of the spot welded lap joint by the stress intensity factor (S.I.F.) K is more effective than the maximum stress $(\sigma_{ymax}$) at edge of the spot weld part on the center line of width of the plate.

Depiction of the Periosteum Using Ultrashort Echo Time Pulse Sequence with Three-Dimensional Cone Trajectory and Histologic Correlation in a Porcine Model

  • Objective: To evaluate the signal intensity of the periosteum using ultrashort echo time pulse sequence with three-dimensional cone trajectory (3D UTE) with or without fat suppression (FS) to distinguish from artifacts in porcine tibias. Materials and Methods: The periosteum and overlying soft tissue of three porcine lower legs were partially peeled away from the tibial cortex. Another porcine tibia was prepared as three segments: with an intact periosteum outer and inner layer, with an intact periosteum inner layer, and without periosteum. Axial T1 weighted sequence (T1 WI) and 3D UTE (FS) were performed. Another porcine tibia without periosteum was prepared and subjected to 3D UTE (FS) and T1 WI twice, with positional changes. Two radiologists analyzed images to reach a consensus. Results: The three periosteal tissues that were partially peeled away from the cortex showed a high signal in 3D UTE (FS) and low signal on T1 WI. 3D UTE (FS) showed a high signal around the cortical surface with an intact outer and inner periosteum, and subtle high signals, mainly around the upper cortical surfaces with the inner layer of the periosteum and without periosteum. T1 WI showed no signal around the cortical surfaces, regardless of the periosteum state. The porcine tibia without periosteum showed changes in the high signal area around the cortical surface as the position changed in 3D UTE (FS). No signal was detected around the cortical surface in T1 WI, regardless of the position change. Conclusion: The periosteum showed a high signal in 3D UTE and 3D UTE FS that overlapped with artifacts around the cortical bone.

산업용 CR영상의 방사선 강도에 따른 잡음특성과 기하학적 구도형성의 해석적 접근 (Analytical Approach for the Noise Properties and Geometric Scheme of Industrial CR Images according to Radiation Intensity)

  • 산업용 강판튜브 CR영상의 잡음특성과 기하학적 구조에 관한 해석적 접근을 시도한다. 산업현장에서 방사선 측정실험으로 직접 취득한 방사선영상을 방사선강도에 따라 30(개) 이상의 샘플을 수집하였다. 이들 각 영상은 배경부, 두께부 및 튜브내부의 세 영역으로 구성되었는바, 그 가운데 튜브내부영역을 분석 대상으로 삼았다. 통계적이고 함수적인 방법론에 의해 잡음특성을 포함한 기하학적 구조를 분석한다. 영상을 구성하는 화소라인별로 또는 공간적으로 분석을 수행하여 강판튜브의 기하학적 원형 형태가 방사선영상화 과정을 거치면서 일어나는 변형과 잡음속성 변화의 두 가지 특성을 규명한다. 분석시 부합함수와 그 오차를 기하학적 변형의 판별인자로, 표준편차, 평균 및 SN비를 잡음특성 판별인자로 설정하고 방사선투과정도의 영상에서의 실현인 회색도 변화에 따른 이들 인자들의 변화를 고찰하였다. 분석결과, 본래의 원형 구조가 방사선투과 강도에 따라 타원형에서 저반경 원형 그리고 고반경원형의 점차적인 구조 변형을 일으킨다는 사실을 밝혔고, 잡음의 편차가 투과강도에 반비례함을 규명하였다.

MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF INNER MAGNETOSPHERE DURING GEOMAGNETIC STORMS INFERRED FROM A TSYGANENKO MAGNETIC FIELD MODEL

  • In this paper we report some properties of inner magnetospheric structure inferred from the T01_s code, one of the latest magnetospheric models by Tsyganenko. We have constructed three average storms representing moderate, strong, and severe intensity storms using 95 actual storms. The three storms are then modelled by the T01_s code to examine differences in magnetic structure among them. We find that the magnetic structure of intense storms is strikingly different from the normal structure. First, when the storm intensity is large, the field lines anchored at dayside longitudinal sectors become warped tailward to align to the solar wind direction. This is particularly so for the field lines anchored at the longitudinal sectors from postnoon through dusk. Also while for the moderate storm the equatorial magnetic field near geosynchronous altitude is found to be weakest near midnight sector, this depression region expands into even late afternoon sector during the severe storm. Accordingly the field line curvature radius at the equator in the premidnight geosynchronous region becomes unusually small, reaching down to a value less than 500 km. We attribute this strong depression and the dawn-dusk asymmetry to the combined effect from the enhanced tail current and the westward expansion/rotation of the partial ring current.

OpenFOAM을 이용한 직사각형 개수로 흐름의 LES (Large Eddy Simulation of Rectangular Open-Channel Flow using OpenFOAM)

  • 본 연구에서는 OpenFOAM에서 제공하는 소스 코드를 이용하여 폭-수심비가 2인 직사각형 개수로 흐름에 대해 수치모의를 수행하였다. 여과된 연속 방정식과 운동량 방정식을 해석하기 위하여 큰 와 수치모의를 이용하였고, 비등방성 잔여 응력항을 산정하기 위하여 Smagorinsky 모형(1963)을 사용하였다. LES 모형을 Tominaga et al. (1989)의 폭-수심비가 2인 실험수로에 적용하고 평균흐름 및 난류량을 비교하였다. 추가로 Nezu and Rodi (1985)의 실험 결과와 Shi et al. (1999)의 LES 모의 결과와 함께 비교를 수행하였다. 비교 결과 평균흐름 및 난류량 모두 기존 실험 및 모의 결과를 잘 재현하는 것으로 확인되었다. 특히 이차흐름 분포도에서 측벽과 자유수면의 접합부에서 발생하는 내부이차흐름이 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 수심방향 난류강도의 경우 측벽과 바닥벽에서 난류강도의 등치선도가 측벽과 바닥벽의 접합부 방향으로 편향되는 현상을 확인하였다.

Green Synthesis of Multifunctional Carbon Nanodots and Their Applications as a Smart Nanothermometer and Cr(VI) Ions Sensor

  • In this work, water-soluble and blue-emitting carbon nanodots (CDs) were synthesized from apple peels for the first time via one-step hydrothermal method. The synthetic route is facile, green, economical and viable. The as-prepared CDs were characterized thoroughly by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron (XPS), fluorescence and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy in terms of their morphology, surface functional groups and optical properties. The results show that these CDs possessed ultrasmall size, good dispersivity, and high tolerance to pH, ionic strength and continuous UV irradiation. Significantly, the CDs had fast and reversible response towards temperature, and the accurate linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and temperature was used to design a novel nanothermometer in a broad temperature range from 5 to $65^{\circ}C$ facilely. In addition, the fluorescence intensity of CDs was observed to be quenched immediately by Cr(VI) ions based on the inner filter effect. A low-cost Cr(VI) ions sensor was proposed employing CDs as fluorescent probe, and it displayed a wide linear range from 0.5 to $200{\mu}M$ with a detection limit of $0.73{\mu}M$. The practicability of the developed Cr(VI) sensor for real water sample assay was also validated with satisfactory recoveries.

  • In the present study, flow characteristics of turbulent oscillatory flow in a square-sectional $180^{\circ}$ curved duct are investigated experimentally. In order to measure wall shear stress and pressure distributions, experimental studies for air flow are conducted in a square-sectional $180^{\circ}$ curved duct by using the LDV system with the data acquisition and the processing system. The wall shear stress measuring point bend angle of the $150^{\circ}$ and pressure distribution of the inlet (${\phi}=0^{\circ}$) to the outlet (${\phi}=180^{\circ}$) at $10^{\circ}$ intervals of the duct. The results obtained from the experimentation are summarized as follows: A wall shear stress value in an inner wall is larger than that in an outer wall, except for the phase angle (${\omega}t/{\pi}/6$) of 3, because of the intensity of secondary flow. The pressure distributions are the largest in accelerating and decelerating regions at the bend angle(${\phi}$) of $90^{\circ}$ and pressure difference of inner and outer walls is the largest before and after the ${\phi}=90^{\circ}$.

Er 이온 주입된 GaN의 광학적 특성 (Optical Properties of Er-implanted GaN)

  • We have investigated the optical properties of Erbium (Er)-implanted GaN by photoluminescence (PL). Various doses of Er ion were implanted on GaN epilayers by ion implantation. Visible green emission lines due to inner 4f shell transitions for $Er^{3+}$ were observed from the PL spectrum of Er-implanted GaN. The emission spectrum consists of two narrow green lines at 537 and 558 nm. The green emission lines are identified as $Er^{3+}$ transitions from the $^{5}H_{11/2}$ and $^{4}S_{3/2}$ levels to the $^{4}I_{15/2}$ ground state. The stronger peaks in the case with the dose of $5{\times}10^{14}cm^{-2}$, together with the relatively higher intensity of the $Er^{3+}$ luminescence in the lower doped sample. It implies that some damage remains in the case with the dose of $1{\times}10^{16}cm^{-2}$. The peak positions of emission lines due to inner 4f shell transitions for $Er^{3+}$ do not change with increasing temperature. It indicates that $Er^{3+}$ related emission depends very little on the ambient temperature.
