  • This study have goal with conceptual design for Offshore Structures of high pressure control valve for localization. Ball valve for development accomplished with flow analysis based on provision of ANSI B16.34, ANSI B16.10, ANSI B16.25 In order to localize the Offshore Structures high pressure control valve. Numerical simulation using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) in order to predict a mass flow rate and a flow coefficient form flow dynamic point of view. The working fluid assumed the glycerin (C3H8O3). The valve inlet and outlet setup a pressure boundary condition. The outlet pressure was fixed by atmospheric pressure and calculated until increasing 1bar to 10bar. CFD analysis used STAR-CCM+ which is commercial code and Governing equations were calculated by moving mesh which is rotated 90 degrees when ball valve operated opening and closing in 1 degree interval. The result shows change of mass flow rate according to opening and closing angle of valve, Flow decrease observed open valve that equal percentage flow paten which is general inclination of ball valve. Relation with flow and flow coefficient can not be proportional according to inlet pressure when compare with mass flow rate. Because flow coefficient have influence in flow and pressure difference. Namely, flow can be change even if it has same Cv value. The structural analysis used ANSYS which is a commercial code. Stress analysis result of internal pressure in valve showed lower than yield strength. This is expect to need more detail design and verification for stem and seat structure.

Ball valve for development accomplished with flow analysis based on provision of ANSI B16.34, ANSI B16.10, ANSI B16.25 In order to localize the petrochemistry high pressure control valve. Numerical simulation using CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamic) in order to predict a mass flow rate and a flow coefficient form flow dynamic point of view. The working fluid assumed the water($H_2O$). • The experiment has been investigated the room temperature change under adjusting 4-way valve which was installed for cooling and heating switch. Beside, the temperature of heat pump was controlled automatically for autonomously adjusting temperature and maintaining a constant room temperature. As results, Inlet & outlet temperature differences of compressor are $95^{\circ}C$ in cooling condition and $57^{\circ}C$ in heating condition. Therefore, Compression efficiency of cooling effect is higher than heating effect. In addition, Heat exchange effect of Cooling system condition is higher than heating system. This results can be used for studying about automatic temperature control of cooling and heating system with heat pump and 4way valve.

  • Impact force and strains induced by impact between the occluder and the struts have been measured with force sensor and strain gages. The maximum reaction force was about 25N, and the calculated impact force on the root of the struts amount about 9-17W. Impact force on the inlet strut is greater than that of the outlet strut, but the strain on the outlet strut is much higher than that of the inlet strut. These values might cause severe damage on the valve in the critical cases. The results of this study may be extended for the analysis of the endurance limit and optimal design of the struts and occluder.

  • The behaviors of the mixture at the downstream of throttle valve in a TBI type gasoline engine plays a greater role in design of intake system. A good mixture has been influencing directly not only on the engine power but also on the pollutant emission. The mixture flow in an intake manifold is very complex, and the flow characteristics are varied with the valve type, valve angle, inlet air flow rate, and the other flow factors. Three kinds of valve are chosen in this study, and the informations of the mixture flow are observed experimentally using a PIV apparatus. Perforate valve has a smaller recirculation zone than the case of solid valve with a lower valve loss coefficient, and iti is verified that the perforated valve is also suitable to control the flow rate in a mixture flow system.

  • To improve the hydraulic control performance of ABS, it is necessary to establish an efficient control algorithm. And also it is necessary to ova]Hate a hydraulic modulator with solenoid valve quantitatively. In this paper, FEM and permeance method are used to analyze dynamic characteristics of outlet valve. In return, mathmatical modeling of a hydraulic modulator and operating pressure is presented, and the model parameters of an outlet valve are moving plunger, spring constant and orifice diameter. This study shows the way to improve the dynamic characteristic of an ABS outlet valve heavily depending on operating pressure. It is recommended that operating pressure should be justified at the first step toward the design to get the optimal design of an outlet valve.

  • This paper reports on a flexible flap valve actuated by electromagnetic force under a constant pressure source. The flexible flap valve consists of the three main components: a flexible flap with a steel disk embedded in PDMS, an electromagnetic actuator and two glass plates with inlet and outlet. The flap valve is fabricated by SU-8 mold process, the EDM process and oxygen plasma treatment. The dimension of an assembled flap valve is $12[mm]{\times}20[mm]{\times}28[mm]$. The stroke volume of the flap valve is measured for various pressures. And the time of the applied input voltage is varied to change the open time of the valve. When the input voltage of 30[V] is applied for 0.25[s], the minimum stroke volume of the flap valve is $40[{\mu}L]$ at 70 [kPa].

  • For the purpose of optimal control of anti-lock brake systems, precise dynamic characteristics analysis of hydraulic modulator, especially solenoid valve is necessary. However, most of researches so far have dealt with dynamic characteristic analysis of valve itself, and the results have been restrictively applied to the actual ABS modulator, where hydraulic pressure is acting. In this study, mathmatical modeling and experimental analysis were peformed in order to evaluate the valve dynamic characteristics when the hydraulic pressure is applied. High pressure on the master cylinder that affects on the valve dynamic characteristics have been analyzed quantitatively, and performance improvement methods have been suggested through parameter study. Consequently, results of solenoid valve dynamic characteristics analysis derived in the study can be utilized as criteria for the optimal control of anti-lock brake systems.

  • Nonlinear adaptive control for the laboratory pressure-flow model. Control valves are installed on both sides. The pressure and the outlet flow rate are measured. The pressure and outlet flow rate are controlled variables and the control valve stem positions on both sides are the manipulated variables. The variation in both inputs will influence both controlled variables. The control performance is good, in spite of varying valve coefficients of inlet and outlet.
