인쇄기법을 이용한 후막 캐패시터 제작 (Fabrication of Thick Film Capacitors with Printing Technology)

  • Polymer thick film capacitors were successfully fabricated by using ink-jet printing and screen printing technology. First, a bottom electrode was patterned by ink-jet printing of a nano-sized silver ink. Next, a dielectric layer was formed by the screen printing, then a top electrode was pattern by ink-jet printing of a nano-sized silver ink. The printed area of the dielectric layers were changed into $2{\times}2m^2$and $4{\times}2m^2$, and also the area of the electrodes were patterned with $1{\times}1mm^2$ and $1{\times}3mm^2$. The thickness of the printed dielectric layer was ranged from 1.1 to $1.4{\mu}m$. The analysis of capacitances verified that the capacitances was proportional to the area of the printed electrode. The capacitances of the fabricated capacitors resulted in one third of the calculated capacitances.

잉크젯 프린팅을 이용한 low-e $TiO_2$-silver 투명박막형성 (Fabrication of $TiO_2$-silver transparent thin films low-e coated on glass substrate by ink-jet printing)

  • Low-emissivity (low-e) coatings with visible transparency have attracted increased interest m reducing heat radiation loss through window panes from ecological and sustainable aspects. $TiO_2$-silver transparent thin films for low-e have good properties for UV and IR blocking as well as photocatalyst compared to that with commercial UV blocking films such as fluorine doped oxide (FTO), antimony doped tin oxide (ATO), etc. In this study, transparent $TiO_2$-silver thin films were prepared by successive ink-jet printing of commercial nano silver and $TiO_2$ sol. The $TiO_2$ sol, as ink for ink-jet printing, were synthesized by hydrothermal process in the autoclave externally pressurized with $N_2$ gas of 200 bar at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs. The synthesized $TiO_2$ sols were all formed with brookite phase and their particle size was several to 30 nm. At first nano sized silver sol was coated on glass substrate, after that $TiO_2$ sol was coated by ink-jet printing. With increasing coating thickness of $TiO_2$-silver multilayer by repeated ink-jet coating, the absorbance of UV region (under 400nm) and IR region (over 700nm) also increase reasonably, compared to that with commercial UV blocking films.

  • 습도센서의 감습막으로 응용하기 위하여 폴리이온넨계 전해질 잉크를 제조하였다. 감습필름 은 금전극이 인쇄된 알루미나 기판 위에 잉크젯 인쇄 기법을 사용하여 도포 하였다. 또한 methyl methacrylate, acrylic acid, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate 그리고 [(2-methacryloyloxy)ethyl)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride의 공중합체를 합성하였으며, 이것은 침적코팅에 의한 감습막 제조에 사용하였다. 상대습도에 따른 전기적 특성을 측정하였으며 침적코팅에 의한 습도센서와 비교하였다. 습도센서는 상대습도가 증가함에 따라서 저항의 감소함을 보여주었으며 그들의 저항특성은 시료간에 가깝게 일치함을 보여주었다.

  • Ink-jet printing techniques with ceramic ink, which contains ceramic pigments as colorant, are in increasingly use in the ceramic industry. Generally, ceramic pigments that are produced by conventional method show diameters of several micrometers; these micrometer sized particles in the ink-jet printing process can cause undesirable behavior such as print head nozzle clogging. To prevent this problem, a particle size reduction process is required. In this study, CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) pigments were synthesized via solid state method. Each pigment particle was milled to submicron size by an attrition mill. The effects of micronizing on the morphology, mechanical property, crystal structure and color property of the CMYK ceramic pigments were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), particle size analysis (PSA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and CIE $L^{\ast}a^{\ast}b^{\ast}$.

Ink-jet Printing for the Fabrication of a Flexible Electrochromic Device Based on the Water-Soluble Viologen-Functionalized Dendrimer

  • This paper reports the preparation of an ink-jet printed flexible electrochromic device based on a water-soluble viologen-functionalized dendrimer. Polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers were modified with different concentrations of 1-1 bis(propylamine)-4,4'-bipyridylium dibromides to obtain solution-processable electrochromic materials (K1/2 and K1). FTIR, NMR, and elemental analyses are used to characterize synthesized viologens. Moreover, their electrochemical properties were investigated using cyclic voltammetry in an electrolyte solution consisting of 0.1 M HCl to find the optimum viologens. The low-cost ink-jet printer was used to print the prepared water-soluble electrochromic inks onto the ITO coated PET substrate to form desired transparent patterns. The electrolyte was applied on the printed electrochromic ink to make a sandwich with another ITO coated PET to prepare the electrochromic devices (ECD). By applying an electrical potential (0 to -2 V), the transparent ECD's color changed from colorless to blue. The color changes for the optimum ECD (K1), which had more viologen units on the dendrimer, was accompanied by an optical contrast of 47% and 311.5 ㎠C-1 coloration efficiency at 600 nm.

잉크제트용 염료잉크와 안료잉크의 흡수거동에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Absorption Behavior of Dye and Pigment Ink for Ink-Jet Printing)

  • In technology of ink-jet coating, Image quality from correlation between paper and ink depends on the properties of printer and ink as well as those of paper material. Generally, According to the quality of ink that consists of colorants from 5 to 20 percent, It seems that absorption behavior of each ink is different. In this study, we studied to estimate the effects of dye and pigment ink on the absorption and printing properties using 2-type papers on the market and 3-type silica-based coated papers whose pore structure is different. Using the theory of contact angle to evaluate the absorption property, it was possible to measure the baseline length between paper and ink, volume of droplet as well as contact angle. Also, It was possible to calculate wetting energy(mN/m) and spreading coefficient(mN/m) using the surface tension of each ink. These measurements were available to estimate ink-jet qualities.

  • Recently, studies of 3D printing methods have been working in various applications. For example, the powder base method laminates the prints by using a binding or laser sintering method. However, the draw back of this method is that the post process is time consuming and does not allow for parts to be rapidly manufactured. The binding method requires the post process while the time required for the post process is longer than the manufacturing time. This paper proposes a UV curing binding method with an integrated piezo printing head system. The optimization of an arbitrary waveform generation for the control of a UV curable resin droplet was researched, in addition to developed optimized UV curing processes in multi nozzle ink jet heads.

전도성 나노 구리잉크의 잉크젯 프린팅 유변학적 거동 및 광소결 특성 평가 (Rheological behavior and IPL sintering properties of conductive nano copper ink using ink-jet printing)

  • 최근 잉크젯 프린팅 기술을 이용한 인쇄전자 분야가 차세대 기술로서 각광받고 있으며, 복수의 프린트 헤드(head)로부터 다양한 잉크 형태의 소재를 정밀하게 출력하여 적층할 수 있는 3D 프린팅 기술에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 잉크젯 3D 프린팅 기술을 이용하여 광경화성 실리카 잉크와 PVP가 첨가된 나노 구리 잉크로 절연층과 전도층의 복합구조체를 제작하였다. 프린팅 구동 조건과 잉크의 유변학적 거동을 최적화하여 정밀한 광경화 실리카 절연층을 적층 제조하였으며, 절연층의 저항은 2.43 × 1013 Ω·cm의 값을 나타내었다. 광경화 실리카 절연층 위에는 액적 간격 제어를 통하여 나노 구리 전도층을 프린팅하였다. PVP 첨가 나노 구리 잉크의 소결은 IPL 광소결 공정을 이용하였으며, 어닐링 온도와 인가 전압 변화에 따른 전기적, 기계적 특성을 확인하였다. 100℃ 어닐링 온도와 700 V IPL 광소결 조건에서 PVP가 첨가된 나노 구리 전도층의 저항은 29 μΩ·cm으로 매우 낮으며, 광경화 실리카 절연층과의 접착력은 매우 우수한 것으로 확인하였다.

잉크젯에 의한 은나노 잉크의 패턴닝 및 소결 (Patterning and Sintering of Silver Nano Ink by the Ink-Jet Printing Technology)

  • Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by polyol process and its particle size observed with TEM is about 20nm. Silver nanoparticle ink with metal content of 30wt% was prepared using solvent of ethanol and has low viscosity of 5cps (10rpm). This ink was printed by as ink-jet printer on Al2O3 and Silicone substrate. The resistivity and morphology of the printed film was investigated as a function of sintering termperature.
