플랜트 설계 시 배관진동을 유발하는 가진 함수의 수학적 모델링 (A Study on Mathematical Modeling of Forcing Function for the Piping Vibration of Petrochemical Plant Design)

  • In analysis of piping vibration of petrochemical plant, the forcing functions mainly depend upon the equipment working mechanism and vibration resources in the piping systems. In general, harmonic function is used for the system with rotary equipments. Mechanical driving frequencies, wave functions, and response spectrum are used for reciprocating compressors, surge vibration of long transfer piping, and seismic/wind vibration, respectively. In this study, for the spray injection case inside the pipe, forcing function was modeled, in which two different fluids are distributed uniformly. To confirm the results, the scheme used for the forcing function was applied for real piping system. The vibration mode of the real system was consistent with the 4th mode obtained by simulation using the forcing function formulated in this study.

광폭 다이오우드 레이저의 주입-잠금에 대한 Fabry-Perot 모델 (Fabry-Perot Modeling of Injection-Locking of the Broad-Area Diode Laser)

  • Fabry-Perot 모델을 사용하여 광폭 다이오우드 레이저(broad-area diode laser ; BLD)에 대한 주입-잠금을 분석하였다. 일반적인 단일띠 다이오우드 레이저의 경우와 다르게, 주입되는 광을 약간 경사지게 하는 BLD의 경우는 BLD가 하나의 포화 이득 증폭기로서 동작한다고 볼 수 있으며, BLD의 양면에서의 다중 반사의 의한 중첩으로써 출력된 광을 해석할 수 있다. 1차원 Gaussian 광의 중첩에 의한 근거리와 먼 거리 분포를 구하였다. 또한, 입사 광의 주파수가 변화될 때 출력 광의 각도 변화를 계산하여 대역폭 약 120 GHz에 0.022도/GHz 혹은 10.37도/nm의 값을 얻었다.

단일추진제 위성추력기 내 연소기 및 노즐 유동 해석 (Analysis of Combustor and Nozzle for Monopropellant Satellite Thruster)

  • A numerical analysis was performed to predict the thermo-fluid dynamic characteristics of hydrazine monopropellant reaction in the thruster combustor and nozzle. A 1-D porous model was introduced to simulate catalytic reaction by iridium in the combustor while 2-D axisymmetric analysis was applied to predict the nozzle flow. The chemical species and temperature variations were predicted by changing the injection pressure and mass flow rate and their results were validated by comparison with limited experimental data. The thrust variation with injection pressure could be estimated using the current 1-D combustor modeling.

Simulation for the effect of vertical groundwater flux on the subsurface temperature distribution

  • Subsurface temperature is affected by heat advection due to groundwater advection. Temperature-depth profile can be perturbed especially when there are significant vertical groundwater flux caused by external force such as injection or extraction. This research is to clarify the change of subsurface temperature distribution when the 40m x l0m sandy aquifer is stimulated by two different vertical flux($case1:\;{\pm}10^{-5}m^3/s,\;case2:\;{\pm}4{\times}10^{-5}m^3/s$) using a program called HydroGeoSphere. The resulting temperature distribution contour map shows pumping causes vertical attraction of water from deeper and warmer place which result in rising up isotherm. Additionally more injection/extraction rate, more vertical groundwater flux leads to faster Increase in temperature near the pumping well.

방향성 결합기 구조의 파장가변 협대역 파장여과기 (Narrowband tunable wavelength filters with asymmetrical directional coupler structure)

  • Wavelength tunable, narrowbandwidth wvelength filters in compound semiconductor have been modeled, fabricated, and characterized. In order to obtain a narrow bandpass characteristics at 1.55.$\mu$m, a highly asymmertrical directional coupler structure composed of a strongly guided ridge waveguide and a weakly guided strip-loaded waveguide was used. The optimized filter structure modeling has been obtained by using the spectral index method, effective index method, and the coupled mode theory. Operation at a center wavelength a 1.537.mu.m with a bandwidth of 1.8nm and transfer efficiency of 50-70% is experimentally achieved. For the purpose of center wavelength tuning, the carrier injection in p-n diode structure has been theoretically investigated. It has been found that the tuning range of nanometer can be easily obtained by moderate amount carrier injection. We also found that the bandwidth becomes broad as the center wavelength tuning increases.

  • Predictions of the fuel spray dispersion and mixing processes are very important to improve the fuel consumption and exhaust emissions in GDI engines. Numerical and experimental analysis of the sprays with a swirl injector have been conducted. A numerical analysis is carried out using KIVA-II code with modified spray models. Experimental measurements are performed to show the global spray images and the local images near nozzle tip using laser sheet visualization technique. Computed and measured spray characteristics such as spray width, tip penetration are compared, and good agreements can be achieved. The spray head vortex is stronger as the injection pressure increases, but numerical calculations cannot show the head vortex properly.

  • 고리형 광섬유 공전기 안에 반도체 광 증폭기를 삽입하여 1530 nm에서 1570까지 파장을 가변할수 있는 전광 동기 신호 재생 방식을 제안하고 구현하였다. 임의 파형을 갖는 10 Gbps와 30 Gbps 광 펄스열로부터 injection locking 방법에 의해 동기화된 광 펄스열을 재생하였다. 또한, 대신호 시영역 모델링을 이용하여 입력 광 펄스열의 평균 파워의 변화, 섭동에 대한 시스템의 반응을 해석하였다.

  • Two-dimensional depth-averaged advection-dispersion equation was simulated using FEM. In the straight rectangular channel, the advection-dispersion processes are simulated so that these results can be compared with analyti-cal solutions for the transverse line injection and the point injection. In the straight domain the standard Galerkin method with the linear basis function is found to be inadequate to the advection-dispersion analysis compared to the upwind finite element scheme. The experimental data in the S-curved channel were compared with the result by the numerical model using SUPG(Streamline upwind Petrov-Galerkin) method.

  • This paper describes a passive safety injection system with free piston Stirling pump working withabundant decay heat in the nuclear reactor during the hypothetical accident. The water column in the tube assembly connected from the hot chamber to the cold chamber in the pump oscillates periodically due to thermal volume changes of non-condensable gas in each chamber. The oscillating pressure in the water column is converted into the pumping power with a suction-and-bleed type valve assembly. In this paper a dynamic model describing the frequency of oscillation and pumping pressure is developed. It was found that the pumping pressure is a function of the temperature difference between the chambers. Also, the frequency oscillation depends on the length of the tube with water column.

대수층 수리지질특성에 따른 인공함양시험 적용 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Method of Artificial Injection Test according to the Hydraulic Conductivity of Aquifer)

  • 본 연구에서는 지하공간 개발로 인해 발생하는 지하수위저하, 지반함몰 등의 문제를 해결하는 방법 중 하나인 인공함양기술에 있어 지하수 함양에 결정적인 역할을 하는 지표매질 특성인 수리전도도(hydraulic conductivity)에 관한 적용성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 경기도 이천에 위치한 인공함양시설의 설계조건을 동일하게 하여 양수시험과 주입시험을 수행하였다. 양수시험을 통해서는 지하수위를 회복하는데 있어 결정적인 역할을 하는 대수층의 수리상수값을 도출하였으며, 현장 대수층을 단순화 시킨 모델을 구축하여 양수시험 조건과 동일하게 적용한 부정류 해석을 수행하여 실측값과 모델값의 상관성을 검토한 결과 R2 = 0.78로 분석되었다. 동일한 조건으로 주입시험을 수행하였으며, 주입되는 지층은 실트질모래와 점토질모래로 구성된 퇴적층에서 시험을 진행하였다. 주입시험을 통해 측정된 결과를 통해 시간-수위 자료로부터 대수층의 매개변수를 결정하는 대표적 우물해석해인 Thiem의 공식을 활용하여 경험식을 유도하였으며, 유도된 경험식과 실측값의 상관분석을 수행한 결과 R2 = 0.99의 높은 상관성을 가지는 경험식을 유도하였다. 본 연구는 주입시험이 수행되기 어려운 지역에서 양수시험을 통해 결정된 대수층의 수리전도도를 활용할 경우, 특정 조건에서 신뢰도 높은 결과를 예측하는데 적절히 활용될 것으로 판단된다.
