  • The CO laser is one of powerful light source for laser magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the mid-infrared region of the spectrum because of its wideband operational characteristics. In this work, a liquid nitrogen cooled cw CO laser is developed to allow broad-band operation from 5 to 8 ${\mu}m$. The design details will be presented.

  • This paper introduces a cleaning process for removing submicron-sized particles from NiP hard disk substrates by the liquid-assisted laser cleaning technique. Measurements of cleaning Performance and time-resolved optical diagnostics are Performed to analyze the physical mechanism of contaminant removal. The results reveal that nanosecond laser pulses are effective for removing the contaminants regardless of the wavelength and that a thermal mechanism involving explosive vaporization of liquid dominates the cleaning process.

  • The Alexandrite (Cr:BeAl2O4) laser is one of the promising tunable (vibronic) solid state laser developed recently in the near infrared region (700~800nm) of the spectrum. The thermal lensing effect of rod may effect stable mode osicillation of the solid state laser. A design procedure of the Alexandrite laser resonator considering rod thermal lensing effect and misaligment sensitivity of the resonator will be presented.

Design and Development of a Single-photon Laser and Infrared Common Aperture Optical System

  • A single-photon laser and mid-wave infrared (MWIR) common aperture optical system was designed and developed to detect and range a long-distance civil aviation aircraft. The secondary mirror of the Ritchey-Chretien (R-C) optical system was chosen as a dichroic lens to realize the design of a common aperture system for the laser and MWIR. Point spread function (PSF) ellipticity was introduced to evaluate the coupling efficiency of the laser receiving system. A small aperture stop and narrow filter were set in the secondary image plane and an afocal light path of the laser system, respectively, and the stray light suppression ability of the small aperture stop was verified by modeling and simulation. With high-precision manufacturing technology by single point diamond turning (SPDT) and a high-efficiency dichroic coating, the laser/MWIR common aperture optical system with a 𝜑300 mm aluminum alloy mirror obtained images of buildings at a distance of 5 km with great quality. A civil aviation aircraft detection experiment was conducted. The results show that the common aperture system could detect and track long-distance civil aviation aircraft effectively, and the coverage was more than 450 km (signal-to-noise ratio = 6.3). It satisfied the application requirements for earlier warning and ranging of long-range targets in the area of aviation, aerospace and ground detection systems.

  • 본 논문에서는 음향광학 파장선택 필터(acousto-optic tunable filter) 기반의 파장훑음 레이저(wavelength swept laser)를 이용한 시간-인코딩 근적외선 분광 기술(time-encoded near-infrared spectroscopy)을 제안하였다. 파장훑음 레이저는 800 nm 근처 영역에서 이득 스펙트럼을 가지는 반도체 광 증폭기(semiconductor optical amplifier)를 기반으로 제작되었으며, 음향광학 파장선택 필터를 공진기 내부에 삽입함으로써 음향광학 파장선택 필터에 인가되는 전기적 라디오주파수에 따라 출력 파장을 선택할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 연구에서는 종래의 기술인 백색광 분광기 기반의 검출부 분광 근적외선 분광 기술과 제안된 파장훑음 레이저 기반의 광원부 분광 근적외선 분광 기술을 각각 이용하여 근적외선 흡수 염료 샘플의 흡광도를 각기 측정하여 실험적으로 비교함으로써 본 연구에서 제안하는 음향광학 파장선택 필터 기반 파장훑음 레이저를 이용한 근적외선 분광 기술의 특성을 증명하였다.

Laser-induced Damage to Polysilicon Microbridge Component

  • Based on the typical pixel structure and parameters of a polysilicon uncooled bolometer, the absorption rate of a polysilicon microbridge infrared detector for 10.6 ㎛ laser energy was calculated through the optical admittance method, and the thermal coupling model of a polysilicon microbridge component irradiated by far infrared laser was established based on theoretical formulas. Then a numerical simulation study was carried out by means of finite element analysis for the actual working environment. It was found that the maximum temperature and maximum stress of the microbridge component are approximately exponentially changing with the laser power of the irradiation respectively and that they increase monotonically. The highest temperature zone of the model is gradually spread by the two corners of the bridge surface that are not connected to the bridge legs, and the maximum stress acts on both sides of the junction of the microbridge legs and the substrate. The mechanism of laser-induced hard damage to polysilicon detectors is the melting damage caused by high temperature. This paper lays the foundation for the subsequent study of the interference mechanism of the laser on working state polysilicon detectors.

  • This study is about the spectroscopic characterization of abnormal cells in a macro to micro approach. In the first step a commercial UV-Vis apparatus is used, which is ultimately altered to the limits to decrease detection volume. In the ultimate stage an infrared femtosecond laser setup is used to measure on individual cells.

마우스를 이용한 PLA - tetracycline 복합체 코팅 금 나노입자 - 티타니아 나노튜브의 적외선 레이저 유도 약물용출 생체 내 평가 (In vivo evaluation of infrared LASER mediated drug release of PLA-tetracycline complexes coated gold nanoparticle-titania nanotubes with mouse)

  • In this study, we prepared PLA-tetracycline complexes coated gold nanoparticle-titania nanotubes and estimated their infrared LASER mediated drug release in the abdominal region of ICR mouse. The results of UV-Vis spectrophotometer showed the highest absorbance at the wavelength of 530 nm and 809 nm indicating the existence of gold nanoparticles. EDX analysis showed that the amounts of gold nanoparticle coated on titania nanotubes were approximately 3.62-36.5 wt%. In vivo test resulted that the tetracycline release value of experimental groups (6.5 ng/mL) was higher than that of control group (5.8 ng/mL) on the condition of 30 minutes of LASER irradiation. Therefore, it is expected that PLA-tetracycline complexes coated gold nanoparticle-titania nanotubes have the feasibility in the field of infrared remote controlled drug device and overcome the limitation of location and time of drug release in dental implant.

  • The wall thinning defect of nuclear power pipe is mainly occurred by the affect of the flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) of fluid. This type of defect becomes the cause of damage or destruction of in carbon steel pipes. Therefore, it is very important to measure defect which is existed not only on the welding part but also on the whole field of pipe. This study use dual-beam Shearography, which can measure the out-of-plane deformation and the in-plane deformation by using another illuminated laser beam and simple image processing technique. And this study proposes Infrared thermography, which is a two-dimensional non-contact nondestructive evaluation that can detect internal defects from the thermal distribution by the inspection of infrared light radiated from the object surface. In this paper, defect of nuclear power pipe were, measured using dual-beam shearography and infrared thermography, quantitatively evaluated by the analysis of phase map and thermal image pattern.
