  • Zinc diffusion characteristics and its applicabilities have been studied using an open-tube system. Thermal decomposition of arsenide(As) at gallium arsenide(GaAs) wafer surface was well inhibited by using Ga: poly-GaAs: Zn compositon as a diffusion source. Junction depth was obtained as 4.6x10**7\ulcorner exp)-1.25/kT) where activation energy of diffusion was 1.25eV. From Boltzmann-matano analysis, it could be identified that concentration dependencies of Zn diffusivity well consisted with those of kick-out model. The ideality factor of p+-n junction formed by Zn diffusion was about 1.6 and infrared light intensity was linearly varied in the range of sixty folds. It is concluded frodm these results that Zn diffuses according to kick-out model, and open-tube method is applicable to compound semiconductor devices.

  • This paper studies the sensitivity analysis of an infrared rays (IR) sensor (SHARP-GD2D12) with bluetooth communication. To evaluate the performance of the IR sensor-bluetooth module, the distance and angle data between the sensor and the fixed object are measured with an IR sensor and the measured data are transferred to PC via bluetooth within 100 meters. This experiment shows that the IR sensor-bluetooth system can be used to measure the distance and angle for a fixed object within 100 meters.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the temperature rise on various position of the Buchanan plugger, the peak temperature of plugger's type and the temperature change by its touching time of heat control spring. The System B (Model 1005, Analytic Technologies, USA) and the Buchanan pluggers of F, FM, M and ML are used for this study. The temperature was set to $200^{\circ}C$. The power level on it was set to 10. The heat control spring was touched for 1,2,3,4 and 5 seconds respectively. (omitted)

  • A series of pH and temperature-responsive (N,N-diethylacrylamide-co-methylacrylic acid) copolymers were synthesized by radical copolymerization and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) $^1H$, $^{13}C$ and LLS. The effects of salt and pH on the phase transition behaviors of the copolymers were investigated by uv. With increasing NaCl concentration, significant salt effects on their phase transition behaviors were observed. UV spectroscopic studies showed that the phase transition became faster with increasing NaCl concentration. In addition, the phase transition behaviors of copolymers were sensitive to pH. The pH and temperature sensitivity of these copolymers would make an interesting drug delivery system.

  • With the recent development of less-costly uncooled detector technology, expensive optics are among the remaining significant cost drivers in the thermography camera. As a potential solution to this problem, the fabrication of IR lenses using chalcogenide glass has been studied in recent years. We report on the molding and evaluation of a ultra-precision chalcogenide-glass lens for the thermography camera for body-temperature monitoring. In addition, we fabricated prototype thermography camera using the chalcogenide-glass lens and obtained the thermal image from the camera. In this work, it was found out that thermography camera discerned body-temperature between 20 and $50^{\circ}C$ through the analysis of thermal image. It is confirmed that thermography camera using the chalcogenide-glass lens is applicable to the body-temperature monitoring system.

  • In this study, the PPPI(Plasma Polymerized Phenyl Isothiocyanate) resist thin film was manufactured in accordance with the plasma polymerization method and after exposing it to an electron beam, a pattern was formed by plasma etching. With the FT-IR(Fourier transform-infrared spectrometry) analysis, it was confirmed that the PI(Phenl Isothiocyanate) monomer was successsfully produced into a thin film by the plasma. The polymerization rate of the thin film was 450~ 1012($\AA$/min) to 100-200(W) discharge power and 120-12($\AA$/min) to 0.1 ~0.4[torr] system pressure.

  • In the PAN-based ACF manufacturing system stabilization step was improved with chemical treatment (preoxidation) in order to yield higher carbon content and to avoid excessive fragmentation during carbonization and activation process. The optimal condition of preoxidation was at 18$0^{\circ}C$ for 4 minutes in sodium glyceroxide in glycerine (concentration of NaOH was 0.02 meq/g). To investigate low temperature stabilization effect, preoxidized PAN fiber heated 22$0^{\circ}C$ to 26$0^{\circ}C$ as a function of treatment time and oxidative gas atmosphere, and analysed by infrared spectrum and TGA. As a results of IR and TGA, it was clear that impregnated[preoxidative] PAN had 14% higher residual than untreated PAN at 100$0^{\circ}C$ and the optimal condition of stabilization was at 26$0^{\circ}C$ for 3.5 hours within $N_2$ atmosphere.

  • A NiCo-metal organic framework (MOF) electrode, prepared using urea as a surfactant, was synthesized using a one-pot hydrothermal method. The addition of urea to the NiCo-MOF creates interstitial voids and an ultra-thin nanostructure in the NiCo-MOF, which improves its charge transfer performance. We obtained the optimal metal to surfactant ratio to achieve the best specific capacitance. The NiCo-MOF was employed as the working electrode material in a three-electrode system. Field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy were employed to characterize the microstructures and morphologies of the composites. Cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy curves were employed to quantify the electrochemical properties of the electrodes in a 6 M KOH electrolyte.

  • A new, sensitive, and reliable flow injection methodology was investigated for the determination of lead ion (II) in vegetables' samples using a laboratory-prepared reagent 2-[(6-methoxy-2-benzothiazoly)azo]-4-methoxy phenol (6-MBTAMP). Infrared spectroscopy, UV-visible spectrophotometry, Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Elemental Analysis (CHN), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy 1HNMR, and 13CNMR techniques were used to characterize the reagent and lead (II) complex. The method is based on lead ion (II) reacting with the reagent (6-MBTAMP) in a neutral solution to produce a green-red complex with a maximum absorbance at 670 nm. The optimum conditions, such as flow rate, lead ion (II) volume, reagent volume, medium pH, reagent concentration, and reaction coil length were thoroughly examined. The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were determined to be 0.621 mg·L-1 and 2.069 mg·L-1 , respectively, while Sandell's sensitivity was determined to be 0.345 ㎍·cm-2.
