  • Q+-reader, an E-Book reader system for XML based contents is introduced, The system is developed for the embedded platform, called Q+, which targets for the digital home electronics systems, The system supports XML contents and CSS based styling as described in Open e-book standard. The system renders the e-book contents for users, sc the contents are secured for a proper use. This will found an essential part of business infra for electronic books with copyright protection, The system was developed in Java language to be used in various platform;, and has an open architecture to be reusable for other standards as well.

  • The concept causing all the fuss is "the utility computing or the usage-based IT service", which now represents the future for IT asset in all aspects of the way they work in business, the commercial and public sector. The core of "utility computing or usage-based IT service" is changing the IT assert from "ownership" to "borrowing", which enables managers to get greater utilization of data-centre resources at lower operating costs. This trend is spreaded in public sector centering the Governmental Internet data Center of Korea(NCIA). So, it has need to make an usage-based IT service model that is suitable for public sector. In this paper, we propose the usage-based IT service model that is composed of IT service framework, service pricing model and IT service architecture.

  • Ubiquitous Computing is gradually accepting in our real society. Already some Advanced State has studying of Ubiquitous for more convenience Ubiquitous environment. Anywhere, Anytime user can be provided information and service that he want, but it has some problem such as Rogue AP, IP spoofing, DoS attack, Warm which can causing social confusion in Ubiquitous society.   • 클라우드 컴퓨팅 및 빅데이터 환경에서 최근 데이터의 유동량은 폭발적으로 증가하였다. 그에 따라 대규모 IT자원 및 서비스 제공을 위한 핵심 인프라 역할을 맡고 있는 데이터센터의 수요가 급증하고 있는 추세이다. 하지만, 데이터센터의 빠른 확장 속도에 비하여 데이터센터를 통합적, 효율적으로 관리하고 모니터링 할 수 있는 시스템의 부재로 데이터센터의 빠른 유지보수, 효율적 자원관리와 고신뢰 시스템 구축이 어려운 실정이다. 또한 국내 여건상 외국의 사례와 같이 넓은 부지를 사용하여 데이터센터를 구축할 수가 없기 때문에 모듈 형태의 데이터센터 구축 연구가 절실한 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 폭발적 데이터 환경과 국내 여건을 고려한 효율적인 인프라 지원을 위한 모듈러 데이터 센터의 스마트 모니터링 관리 시스템 구조를 설계한다.

  • With rapidly changing multimedia environment, various artistic changes and digitalized up-to-date social infra, urban environment construction based on culture contents has been activated. The large image in front of urban building that is expressed as media-façade, increasing rapidly in a recent period, is not a new thing at all. In addition, IT technology molten in city space is testing the possibility of new media through the meeting with architecture. However, unlike its infra enlargement, the definition about media-façade is not clear so the system was constructed in a level of night lightscape or outdoor image advertisement. The purpose of this guideline is the regulation from the negative aspect rather than the possibility of various visual, artistic media expressions. Therefore, it could not show essential concept of media-façade. Moreover, most of companies or building owners focus on short-term profit and marketing effect rather than prepare various contents so they can not use constructed infra properly. After all, in many cases, they discolor the meaning of media-façade. This paper is a pilot study to grasp the current definition of media-façade to construct right guideline of media-façade. On the basis of this study, it will prepare academic definition of media-façade and construct the guideline for design evaluation.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to introduce 'Inframince' in modern and contemporary architecture. The Inframince(English: infra-thin) is a concept coined by Marcel Duchamp. The conceptual definition of the term "Inframince" by Marcel Duchamp replied that the notion is impossible to define, "one can only give examples of it:". It describes fine indirect perceptions of physical phenomena. Inframince is conductor of two dimensions into three, the essential dynamic in the practice of making space. Inframince is the interval between an inhabitant and their environment that both connects and separates. This study deals with the difficult situation how Contemporary Architecture represents itself over the 20th century modernity and asks the question how it presents its ornamentality. In order to analyse contradictory situation between self-referentiality and ornamentality in Modern/Contemporary Architecture we need to survey the historical process of changing position of ornaments and its meaning in time. The article also analyze the selected works of contemporary architects like Herzog & de Meuron, Jean Nouvel, to show that the trend reversal continues now more than ever. The Architectural surface must be a different kind of media that can communicate in different way with compared to conventional ornament. If we understand Duchmp's Inframince to be the provocation of the unuseful things, and if we interpret Contemporary fact that all specific Architectural Surfaces have been dissolved in timelines, it shows us post-trend of the Surfaces via conspicuous consumption or desire.

Thermal Performance Evaluation at corners of the External wall of Modern New Han-oks using Temperature Difference Ratio inside (내표면 온도차 비율(TDRi) 분석을 통한 현대 신한옥 외벽 모서리 부위 단열성능 평가)

  • Recently, many New Han-oks have been constructing in all over the country to popularize as a type of green house. But, achievement of thermal performance of external wall is still the very important issue to become popular. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to verify the thermal performance level of modern New Han-ok through Temperature Difference Ratio inside(TDRi) analysis at corners of the external wall in Han-ok. Method: To achieve this goal, measurements were carried out in 12 Han-oks(experimental mock-up(1), exhibition Han-ok(1), happy village Han-oks(10)) by taking a infra-red thermography using thermal video system. Following are analysis items about connection joint between wall and wood columns of external wall conditions; the part between external wall and external wall(2D), external wall and ceiling(or floor)(2D), 2 external walls and ceiling(or floor)(3D) and so on. Result: It was analyzed that the probability of condensation at most of connection joint appear high and TDRi of 3D corners is higher than that of 2D corners in general. It means that the development of construction techniques about connection joint between wood columns and external wall is still required. The results of this study may be used to improve the construction technology of new Han-ok and as a basis for the specifying the desired thermal comfort environment of dwelling.

  • In general construction project planning ratio of manpower and quantity of outputs produced, such as the construction estimate standard, is used as the criterion for labor productivity. This method is highly effective in construction projects with repetitive work, however, there is a limit to apply in large-scale projects with high complexity. This is because the influence of non-work time caused by various work interruption factors that act complexly on the productivity of the project is greater than the average labor productivity derived from the performance data of the project. Therefore, this study proposes a productivity measurement method that can evaluate the characteristics of construction works and the cause of non-working time. To this end, first, detailed work processes and their non-work factors for each work type are defined, and the Adv-FMR technique is developed for quantitatively measuring them. Next, based on the concept of obtainable productivity, methods for comparative productivity analysis by work type, evaluating non-work factors, and deriving productivity improvement methods are proposed. Finally, a case study is conducted to validate that the analysis results based on Adv-FMR data can support the decision-making of construction managers on productivity management.

Surface soil moisture memory using stored precipitation fraction in the Korean peninsula (토양 내 저장 강수율을 활용한 국내 표층 토양수분 메모리 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The concept of soil moisture memory was used as a method for quantifying the function of soil to control water flow, which evaluates the average residence time of precipitation. In order to characterize the soil moisture memory, a new measurement index called stored precipitation fraction (Fp(f)) was used by tracking the increments in soil moisture by the precipitation event. In this study, the temporal and spatial distribution of soil moisture memory was evaluated along with the slope and soil characteristics of the surface (0~5 cm) soil by using satellite- and model-based precipitation and soil moisture in the Korean peninsula, from 2019 to 2020. The spatial deviation of the soil moisture memory was large as the stored precipitation fraction in the soil decreased preferentially along the mountain range at the beginning (after 3 hours), and the deviation decreased overall after 24 hours. The stored precipitation fraction in the soil clearly decreased as the slope increased, and the effect of drainage of water in the soil according to the composition ratio of the soil particle size was also shown. In addition, average soil moisture contributed to the increase and decrease of hydraulic conductivity, and the rate of rainfall transfer to the depths affected the stored precipitation fraction. It is expected that the results of this study will greatly contribute in clarifying the relationship between soil moisture memory and surface characteristics (slope, soil characteristics) and understanding spatio-temporal variation of soil moisture.

  • The introduction of the BIM into the architectural service industry is currently not being conducted smoothly. The purpose of this research is to, considering the current state of the market, establish long-term strategies that will enable the BIM to successfully settle. The survey has been conducted in target of architects in order to understand pending issues. Additionally, the articles regarding BIM have been researched for the purpose of better understanding the current societal demands. Indicated by survey results, the architects agree to a certain extent upon the need of BIM for architectural designs, yet also express concerns that the BIM introduction does not guarantee betterment in efficiency. The problematic aspects of BIM introduction that have already been discussed in some policy-related studies include a multitude of complicated issues that are unable to be resolved within a short period of time: underdeveloped BIM infra, the limit of BIM software itself, political issues regarding licensing and lack of social awareness. Based on the issues mentioned above, three main areas of focus along with their respective practical strategies and tasks have been designated. Finally, this research has analyzed the current situation and its issues along with the political solutions of 12 projects, amongst which include the standard for plan drawings, licensing system improvement, cost standard and BIM introduction support.
