  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an informational leaflet on emergency care and to explore effects of facilitative nurse-patient interaction behavior using an informational leaflet on patient satisfaction with nurse-patient interaction behavior, patient anxiety, and patient satisfaction with use of emergency care. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study that applied a nonequivalent control-group posttest-only design. The participants were 81 patients who visited the emergency department of a hospital in Korea; the experimental group (n=40) received facilitative nurse-patient interaction behavior using an informational leaflet, and the control group (n=41) received care under routine protocols without an information leaflet. The effects of the two groups were analyzed using an independent t-test with SPSS computer program. Results: Patient satisfaction with nurse-patient interaction behavior and use of emergency care in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. Patient anxiety related to using emergency care in the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion: Therefore, facilitative nurse-patient interaction behavior using an informational leaflet to the patient may be useful interventions that are easily implemented by nurses in emergency settings.

  • The article is devoted to the problems and prospects of integration of informational technologies in the administration of justice as a necessary component of the development of the informational society in Ukraine. In general, informational technologies make it possible to create new forms of organization and interaction of bodies of public authorities with society, to introduce innovative solutions for legal regulation and organization of public relations. More and more services for citizens are moving to electronic format. Judicial reform is aimed at ensuring more comfortable and convenient interaction with the courts. The need for the usage of informational technology in the proceedings is preconditioned by the global informatization of modern society, the development of new forms of interaction in the civil sphere with the usage of electronic means of communication: the global Internet, mobile, and satellite communication systems and more. "Electronic justice" involves the use of information and communication technologies in the implementation of procedural law.

  • Under the influence of information technology, there has been a significant change in the consumers' attitude and behavior toward the cultural products. Especially, the social network service (SNS) is predicted to effectively facilitate the growing interaction among potential consumers, which may lead to consumption of the cultural products. The goal of this study is thus two-fold: (a) to investigate the characteristic features of the digital environments based on SNS, and (b) to examine how these factors result in the purchase of the cultural contents. The survey data identified the digital environments as Informational interaction, Information connectivity, and Informational trust in the SNS environment. Subsequently, the structural equation methods confirmed that these factors facilitate consumers' participation in the information network and promote consumers' emotional attachment to the cultural contents, which eventually lead to the positive attitude toward the purchase of the cultural contents.

  • This case study describes the nature of young children's responses in the informational picturebook reading process through the eyes of 4 young children. Over a twenty week period from September 3, 2007 to February 15, 2008, researcher observed 4 young children while they read informational picturebooks and interacted with one another in terms of what they had read. The young children's personalities, preferences and environments as individual background clearly influenced responses and interaction during the reading process. By acknowledging the response styles of young children, a teacher can assist young children in developing a repertoire of responses to informational picturebooks.

  • To transmit users' intentions that vary with each person, intuitive and hi-directional interactions between users and a computer are necessary. We considered these interactions by dividing them into two spaces, physical space and informational space. Informational space supports human thinking process by arranging and visualizing much information. Physical space reproduces the real world where various restrictions exist to virtual space. From the viewpoint of three aspects - contents model, kansei model and context model - we defined the style of the interaction between user and multimedia database. In this paper, for the purpose of examining the way to realize the interaction based on these models, we developed interior design coordination support system and garden coordination system, and then evaluated them.

  • Recently, there has been tremendous increase in human-computer/machine interaction system, where the goal is to provide with an appropriate service to the user at the right time with minimal human inputs for human augmented cognition system. To develop an efficient human augmented cognition system based on human computer/machine interaction, it is important to interpret the user's implicit intention, which is vague, in addition to the explicit intention. According to cognitive visual-motor theory, human eye movements and pupillary responses are rich sources of information about human intention and behavior. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for the identification of human implicit visual search intention based on eye movement pattern and pupillary analysis such as pupil size, gradient of pupil size variation, fixation length/count for the area of interest. The proposed model identifies the human's implicit intention into three types such as navigational intent generation, informational intent generation, and informational intent disappearance. Navigational intent refers to the search to find something interesting in an input scene with no specific instructions, while informational intent refers to the search to find a particular target object at a specific location in the input scene. In the present study, based on the human eye movement pattern and pupillary analysis, we used a hierarchical support vector machine which can detect the transitions between the different implicit intents - navigational intent generation to informational intent generation and informational intent disappearance.

  • This study examined factors that influenced susceptibility to dyadic influences between opposite-gender couples on making apparel purchase decisions. This study focused on main effects of couple identity, product knowledge, clothing involvement and gender, and the interaction effects of gender with other factors for normative and informational influences. A survey was conducted on 155 males and 166 females currently married or in a relationship between the ages of 20 and 50 living in South Korea. For normative influence, the main effects of joint couple identity and clothing involvement (fashion interest, symbolism, and pleasure), and the interaction between gender and clothing involvement (fashion interest) were significant. The interaction between gender and other variables were insignificant. For informational influence, the main effects of partner's product knowledge, pleasure, and gender as well as the interaction effects between fashion interest and gender, and between pleasure and gender were significant. Marketers may find implications from the study results on how couples influence each other in making apparel purchase decisions.

  • In this paper, we studied about method that instructor and learner execute teaching-learning activities and about the educational effects of a web based practice instruction. And, in practice instruction, we examined about role and influence of instructor, learner and manager. This study shows the method that instructor and learner execute teaching-learning activities and interaction activities in a "construction of e-business system" curriculum to support the informational education for an industrial workers. The research subject was the 15 industrial workers who enrolled a informational instruction coulee provided for two weeks by kimpo college, As a research method, workers survey, interview, and profile analysis were used for this study. The result of this study show that interaction between instructor, learner and manager was not executed actively, but the manner of lecturing about interest of learner, usage of email, question and answer of bulletin board, online-practice were brought an effect on interaction of learner activities and the educational effects.l effects.

  • Various methods of analysis have been proposed to understand the gene-disease relation and gene-gene interaction effect for a disease through comparison of genotype in case-control study. In this study, we proposed the method to detect a genetic association and gene-gene interaction through the use of a network graph and centrality measures that are used in social network analysis. The applicability of the proposed method was studied through an analysis of real genetic data.

  • The robot has recently emerged as a factor in the daily lives of humans, taking the form of a mechanical pet or similar source of entertainment. A robot system that is designed to co-exist with humans, i.e., a coexistence-type robot system, is important to be "it exists in various environments with the person, and robot system by which the interaction of n physical, informational emotion with the person etc. was valued". When studying the impact of intimacy in the human/robot relationship, we have to examine the problems that can arise as a result of physical intimacy(coordination on safety in the hardware side and a soft side). Furthermore, We should also consider the informational aspects of intimacy (recognition technology, and information transport and sharing).
