A Study on the Improvement Measures of Labor Conditions of the Contingent Worker (비정규직의 노동조건 개선 대책에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose empirically the improvement measures of labor conditions of the contingent worker. Since early 1980s, the labour market in Korea has given rise to a rapid growth in contingent worker. Last year, the number has shot over 7 million mark, with the ratio standing above the 50%. This study analyses the improvement measures of labor conditions of the contingent worker. This study present five major improvement measures of labor conditions of the contingent worker. First, It's establish of the relations between organizational flexibility of the labour market and the contingent worker. Second, It's needs to realize wages level of the contingent worker. Third, the contingent worker convert standard workforce step by step. Fourth, it's make no discrimination of the between contingent worker and standard workforce. Fifthly, the government place restrictions of the contingent worker rates.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the conflict plan of the foreign worker in Korea. The concrete purpose of this study as follows : First, To Analyze Conflict factor of job according to the foreign worker conflict. Second, To present rethinking plan of job and efficiency management foreign worker in Korea. The Subject of this study were consisted of 308 foreign worker form 408 small and medium business in taejon city, Chung-Nam. Conflict factor of job was measured according to questionare used in precedent study. Statistical treatment were the mean, Standard, Deviation, One-way ANOVA analysis. The conclusions of the paper research were as follows. First, Foreign worker showed occasionally lower degree conflict of job. Second, Woman foreign worker had higher conflict of job than man foreign worker in wage, working condition, human relation, communication. Third, The foreign worker is short In Job-experience. therefore, efficiency management of job was fall. Fourth, The relationships between Korea-worker and foreign-worker were conflict in communication, human relation. Fifth, The relationships between Korea-worker and foreign-worker were conflict wage-discrimination. Sixth, The more education-level had lower conflict. Seventh, According to cultural characteristic had different.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive implications for effective management of the public social worker by investigating the relationship between social support, job attitude and self-esteem of the public social worker. In order to accomplish this research purpose, social support of the public social worker as independent variables, job attitude as a dependent variable, and self-esteem as a parameter were analyzed and the relationship between these variables was analyzed. As a result, emotional, evaluative, material, and informational support, which constitute the social support of the public social worker, have a significant effect on job attitude, and self-esteem has a mediating effect on the relationship between these variables. Based on the results of this analysis, the importance of social support of the public social worker was suggested.

A Statistical Analysis of Tree-Harvesting Worker Safety

  • Tree-harvesting worker data of 508 separate worker accidents are analyzed and an exploratory approach taken. The worker accident data cover a sample of five years. The scope of the study was the southeastern United States of America. As might be hypothesized, the chainsaw was the most hazardous type of tree-harvesting equipment. It accounted for 55% of the tree-harvesting accidents. Most chainsaw accidents resulted in injuries to the lower extremities and were more frequent among younger employees. The probability of one or more chainsaw accidents occurring in any 30-day period was approximately 0.856. Chainsaw accidents were more likely to occur in late morning and early afternoon. We used statistical tools such as Pareto charts, c-charts and Ishikawa diagrams. Such tools are useful in diagnosing the root-cause of tree-harvesting worker accidents and help in developing preventive safety programs. Recommendations to help improve the quality of information of accident data collected by insurance companies and others are briefly given. The strategy and culture of continuous process improvements are stressed.

  • This research deals with a task assignment problem to worker group which consists of one master and one assistant. Each task must be assigned to only one worker group and it is possible to make a pair of each master and each assistant to organize a worker group. A worker group may have more than one task assigned to it, but the workloads of each worker group must be balanced within the allowable range. This problem can be formulated mathematically using the Mixed Integer Programming(MIP), where the objective function is to minimize the total assignment cost. A two phase heuristic algorithm is suggested in order to find approximate solutions. The first phase is to obtain an initial solution, where the initial assignment is performed to follow the workload adjustment. In the second phase, the solution is improved through the repeated process of the exchange and the assignment adjustment. Numerical experiments have been performed to evaluate the performance of the heuristic algorithm.

A Design and Implementation of Worker Motion 3D Visualization Module Based on Human Sensor

  • In this paper, we design and implement a worker motion 3D visualization module based on human sensors. The three key modules that make up this system are Human Sensor Implementation, Data Set Creation, and Visualization. Human Sensor Implementation provides the functions of setting and installing the human sensor locations and collecting worker motion data through the human sensors. Data Set Creation offers functions for converting and storing motion data, creating near real-time worker motion data sets, and processing and managing sensor and motion data sets. Visualization provides functions for visualizing the worker's 3D model, evaluating motions, calculating loads, and managing large-scale data. In worker 3D model visualization, motion data sets (Skeleton & Position) are synchronized and mapped to the worker's 3D model, and the worker's 3D model motion animation is visualized by combining the worker's 3D model with analysis results. The human sensor-based worker motion 3D visualization module designed and implemented in this paper can be widely utilized as a foundational technology in the smart factory field in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the demand for the family worker and family well-being program. For this analysis, the data taken from 367 married women who are using at least 1 program in related institutions in Ulsan were used. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The most demanded role of family worker is family counselor and information performer. So the education system and curriculum for family worker should take more the counseling and information related contents. 2. The most demanded family well-being programs are the communication skill between parents and children and parenting role. The demand for the family well-being programs is different with the users' age, motivation, institutions, etc. So the organization of the program can very as users' characteristics and institutions.

The Productivity Effects of Worker Participation in Capital (근로자 자본참가의 생산성효과)

  • The purpose of this study is primarily to analyse empirically the productivity effects of worker participation in capital by Korean employee stock ownership plan that had taken newly effect on and after January 1,2002, and secondarily to examine the impact of unionization on productivity. The analysis data are those of 150 firms that listed or registered on the stock market, and introduced ESOP. The result of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the worker participation in capitia have significantly a positive effect on productivity, but the magnitude of those effects vary according to estimation models and sectors. The elasticity of stock share owned by employees on productivity is from 0.03 to 0.24. Second, there is no unitary relationship between unionization and productivity. The coefficients of union dummy variable are positive or negative according to models and sectors as well as insignificant.

  • This paper proposes a maintenance method to integrate worker's safety concerns into the process activities of the manufacturing system and it is to be considered as a part of the scope of maintenance engineering. The proposed method incorporates worker's health and safety considerations into maintenance engineering in each of the manufacturing process using reliability analysis. It can help to make a better planning and implementation of maintenance activities for the manufacturing system.
