Mobile Music Album Information Retrieval System using Barcode (바코드를 이용한 모바일 음악앨범 정보 검색 시스템)

  • An advancement and wide use of portable multimedia devices make it easy to spread digital sound source, enabling users to use portable multimedia devices and search and enjoy digital sound sources and related contents. In opposition the off-line musical service market with CD stagnates gradually and in the crisis where the off-line musical service market vanishes away. In this paper, we propose the mobile music album information retrieval system which combines the barcode and a cellular phone musical service. To get digital sound sources and related information from music albums, the proposed retrieval system uses one-dimensional barcodes attached to music albums and obtains information on related albums from the sound source servers. Also, to reflect user preferences in search results, the system uses search frequency by music album, and searches albums in music genres selected by users in the order of the recent preference. The proposed mobile music album retrieval system is implemented on the basis of WIPI, and is now providing pilot services.

  • To determine factors affecting scholarly web database service quality, this research is to investigate factors of web academic information service quality, and analyze how these factors influencing on web academic information service quality satisfactions. As a results, three dimensions were identified namely, information retrieval, ease of use and interaction. The scholarly web database service management has more critical problems than information service in these days. It indicates that the qualitative aspect is becoming more important than quantitative in web academic information service management.

  • The SMS(Short Message Service) in Mobile phone is a service that a text message by 80byte is transmitted and received. Recently it's used instead of voice calls. In this paper, We investigate how you take advantage of the SMS for searching information without simply as a means of voice call, and how much efficiency does the SMS have in Location Information Retrieval Services on LBS(Location-based service). Based on the previous topics, we design the information retrieval system using SMS for solveing the rates issue by existing wireless Internet access, and propose the possibility as new forms of content services.

  • Thlephone pushbuttons simply consist of 0~9 digits, #, and ${\ast}$). So it is difficulty for user to input the various query command for information retrieval of audio response sevice. We suggest the new retrieval algorithm for audio response service using Korean initial sounds sequences. User those who do not know the retrieval code can retrieve the audio response service by pushing the telephone digit buttons which correspond to initial sounds of its name.

  • Since 2006, social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, and Blog user increasing very rapidly. Furthermore demand of Book Retrieval Service using smartphone on social network service environment are increasing too. This service can to easy and share information for search book and data in several university. However, the current edition of the social services in the country to provide security services do not have the right. Therefore, we suggest a social book Retrieval service in social network environment that can support user authentication and partial filter search method on smartphone. our proposed system can to provide more speed responsiveness, effective display result on smartphone and security service.

  • It is important to retrieve effectively the visual media such as pictures and video in the internet, especially to the application areas such as electronic art museum, e-commerce, and internet shopping malls. It is also needed in these areas to have content-based or even semantic-based multimedia retrieval instead of simple keyword-based retrieval. In our earlier research, we proposed a semantic-based visual media retrieval framework for the effective retrieval of the visual media from the internet. It uses visual media metadata and ontology based on the web service to achieve the semantic-based retrieval. In this research, there are more than one visual media service providers and one central service broker. As a preliminary step to the visual media data retrieval, a method is proposed to retrieve the service providers effectively. The method uses the structure of the ontology tree to obtain the providers and their rankings. It also uses the size of sub nodes and child nodes in the tree. It measures the rankings of providers more effectively than previous method. The experimental results show the accuracy of the method while keeping compatible speed against the existing method.

  • Social network services allow you to share your thoughts and preferences more easily. They share your views with a large number of people who are friends with you without restriction of time or place. In the IoT environment, the amount of data is massively increasing as social network services spread rapidly. This change in the environment is driving the need for research into new retrieval methods that are different from conventional retrieval methods. In this paper, we propose a progressive retrieval method using the intimacy of social network users in the IoT. The first thing is to extract the user with the highest intimacy by using the property that the number of the owner of the information stored in the IoT environment is small. By accessing information in objects owned by these extracted users, the amount of information retrieved is reduced. It also improves retrieval efficiency by gradually retrieving information according to the user's level of interest. We present a new retrieval method and algorithm. The scenario also illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • This study investigates the effect of data fusion on the retrieval effectiveness by performing an experiment combining multiple representations of Web documents. The types of document representation combined in the study include content terms, links, anchor text, and URL. The experimental results showed that the data fusion technique combining document representation methods in Web environment did not bring any significant improvement in retrieval effectiveness.

  • Recently, research in building up semantic web for exchanging information and knowledge is active. To make use of video contents as knowledge on semantic web, semantic-based retrieval should be preceded. At present, retrieval based on consentaneity between metadata and keyword is common used. In this paper, I propose ontolgy establishment which enlarge user participation and add usefulness value and history information. This will facilitate semantic retrieval as well as use of video contents by using collective Intelligence. The proposed ontology schema will allow semantic-based retrieval of video contents on semantic web get higher recall compared to current way of retrieval. Moreover it enables you to make use of various video contents as knowledge.
