The Business Intelligence Concept Survey was conducted from the perceptions of information department employees in government agencies. The survey was conducted from April to June 2021 using questionnaires. The dataset contains responses about the factors that influence the use of business intelligence and the barriers and limitations to the use of business intelligence. A five-point Likert scale was used to analyze the quantitative data. The opportunities and challenges associated with it were also discussed and explored. As evidenced by the results, the information department employees agree that business intelligence improves the government decision-making process, which helps decision makers and decision-makers to find alternatives and opportunities that contribute to making more accurate and timely decisions. The results also indicate that creating the infrastructure for applying business intelligence in the e-government work model contributes to the successful implementation of business intelligence in Sudan.

  • A business process specification (BPS) plays the role of a contracted business scenario in the execution of the B2B business process instances. XML-based specification languages, such as BPSS, WS-BPEL, etc., are usually adopted for the specifications. However, composing complex XML-based specifications are not easy for humans. As an alternative, graphical modeling languages such as UML and BPMN can be employed. This paper presents an UML-based modeling method for graphically specifying ebXML BPSS instances (namely, business process specifications). UML diagrams, directly matching with ebXML BPSS, can be reused for understanding and generating ebXML BPSS instances. We discuss the value of tile method by developing a business reference library in the area of supply chain management.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the role of NGIS(National Geographic Information System) and the development strategy for Business GIS in the ubiquitous society. We analyze the level of GIS technology with the ICT(Information Communication Technology) as well as GIS application trends especially in location-based circumstances. Also, we advocate not only making GIS contents to meet the international standards such as GML(Geography Markup Language) and TPEG(Transport Protocol Experts Group) but applying GIS as a killer application to oncoming diverse ICT areas including LBS(Location -Based Service), Telematics, ITS(Intelligent Transport System), gCRM(geographic Customer Relationship Management), DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), u(ubiquitous)-City and u-Town. Finally, we build a conceptual Business GIS model based on NGIS for QoS, standardization, R&D, education, and security.
