3D-PTV measurement has been carried out for the inner flows of a refrigerator. To visualize the air flows three-dimensionally, a helium bubble generator has been used for the 3D-PTV measurements. Three-dimensional flow field of the refrigerator's compartments have been reconstructed by the results obtained by the 3D-PTV Measurements on the electric power-consumption was also carried out in order to evaluate the improvements of the flow characteristics. It was verified that $3\%$ of power consumption was saved by improving the flow passages and characteristics.

Technology adoption for information appliance, which is expected to grow rapidly in the near future, is different from other technologies in that it is mainly used in the home environment when the customers haven't experienced it before. This paper finds important variables from prior research about technology adoption and develops a measurement model that fits for the information appliance. Pretest and pilot studies for the model is conducted in order to guarantee content validity, reliability, convergent validity and discriminant validity. Finally, LISREL analysis is used for finding out the causality among variables and testing for model fitness. The results indicate that three factors that influence behavioral intention are attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control. Attitude is influenced by attitudinal belief, which consists of perceived usefulness, trialability, result demonstrability, image and enjoyment. Perceived behavioral control is influenced by control belief that consists of rapid change in technology, cost and ease of use. This paper ends with implications and limitations of study results.

Since most of the conventional web servers have been designed to Provide the general purpose and user's convenience as the primary goal, there is an overhead to apply them to the embedded system for remote monitoring and controlling the operation status of the Internet appliance. To cope with this overhead, an embedded Linux web server Is suggested in this paper The basic concept is to provide miniaturization and extendability by simplifying the requirements of web server as the services to the requests of web document for the user's menu and the execution of CGI Program for monitoring and controling the Internet appliance, and satisfying only the indispensable requirements of HTTP which are necessary for the interface with the conventional web browsers. For the evaluation of its feasibility, each module has been implemented on Linux environment, and tested with the MS Explorer 6.0.

Six recycling plants have started operation for recycling scrap home appliances since the spring of 2000 in Taiwan. The performance of the plants has not yet been measured during the 18-month period. The performance measurement, however, can be looked in several aspects. Because of the nature of these recycling plants, at least three aspects, namely government (representing general public), appliance manufacturers and owners of the recycling plants themselves should be considered in the performance evaluation. This study proposes various performance indices categorized in four groups: profitability, recyclability, automation and environment. The indices are different from the productivity and cost measures that are used in conventional manufacturing plants. Performances of three existing plants in Taiwan are evaluated as illustrative examples to demonstrate the use of the proposed measures. The practical implications of the performance indices are also discussed.

Etiology of temporomandibular disorders is multifactorial origin and complex. therefore, reversible and conservative treatment is recommended in the initial approach of TMD. oral appliances are widely used to manage TMDs, while their mechanisms of action and its effects remain controversial and unclear. The purpose of this paper was to review information regarding the types, designs, and materials of occlusal appliances and the rationale for the continued use of OS for the management of TMDs.

자바가상머신은 플랫폼에 독립적인 실행을 위해서 바이트코드라고 하는 스택(stack) 기반의 가상 기계어를 사용하므로 실행 속도가 느리다는 단점이 있다. 특히 루프문을 포함하는 자바프로그램을 자바가상머신에서 수행 시키면 루프에 관련된 몇 개의 동일한 바이트코드가 루프의 실행 횟수만큼 반복적으로 인터프리트해서 수행하므로 상당한 성능 저하를 유발한다. 본 논문에서는 이런 비효율적인 성능상의 문제점을 개선하기 위해 루프를 수행하는 새로운 바이트코드를 정의 및 구현하고, 이를 실제 클래스 파일에 적용하기 위한 코드 변경 절차와 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 바이트코드를 사용해서 루프의 처리 속도를 개선할 경우, 클래스 파일의 크기를 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 간단한 성능 평가를 통해서 자바가상머신의 성능 개선 효과를 확인할 수 있다.

VoiceXML is designed for creating audio dialogs that feature synthesized speech, degitized audio, recognition of spoken and DTMF key input, recording of spoken input, telephony, and mixed-initiative conversations. Uses the VoiceXML and there is a Place objective which does information home appliance machinery and tools control. When it uses tile VoiceXML, il will be able to provide a bias characteristic to the user The XML base the gearing with different civil official system is possible. With studying YoiceXML and OSGi, this paper has designed and implemented the control architecture of Information home appliances.

홈 네트워킹 기술에 있어서 무선지향과 대역폭 확대 등의 문제를 해결하기 위해 WLAN과 WPAN, 기술이 제시되고 있지만, 블루투스의 문제와 마찬가지로 경제성과 표준화 등으로 아직까지 가정의 가전기기들에 내장시키기 어려운 것이 현실이다. 본 논문은 무선모뎀을 이용하여 다수의 기기들을 제어하기 위한 저속 무선 프로토콜을 제안하고 이를 실제 로봇에 구현하여 안정성을 확인함으로써 가전기기들을 구성하는 제어기나 처리장치의 낮은 처리능력과 제약성을 고려하고 제어용 정보의 정확성과 특성을 지원하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

최근에 홈네트워크 분야에서 각 서비스의 특징에 따라 UPnP, HAVi, Jini등과 같은 다양한 홈네트워크 미들웨어들이 생겨나게 되었고 이들을 통합하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 대부분의 홈네트워크 미들웨어를 통합하려고 하는 연구들은 시스템을 구축에 대한 비용이 부담된다는 것과 시스템 구축 후에 새로운 홈네트워크 미들웨어가 추가될 때 이미 구축되어 있는 시스템과의 호환이 너무 어렵다는 두 가지 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하기 위해 XML을 이용한 VHG 기반 메타컴퓨팅 미들웨어[7]를 설계했었다. 이를 XBI-Middleware라고 한다. 본 논문에서는 이 미들웨어를 바탕으로 한 환경에서 사용자가 UVAML (User-centric Virtual Appliance Markup Language)을 이용하여 간단한 사나리오 작성을 하게 한다. 이로 인해 가정 내 존재하는 가전기기들 사이의 연관성 있는 동작을 가능케 하는 사용자 중심의 가상 가전기기를 개발한다. 이를 UVA (User-centric Virtual Appliance)라고 한다. 이와 더불어 시나리오 상에 포함된 가전기기가 특정 이유로 홈네트워크에서 이탈할 경우에 나타나는 잘못된 시나리오 동작과 불필요한 시나리오 정보 저장으로 인한 스토리지 낭비와 같은 문제점들을 해결하고 그 가전기기가 다시 홈네트워크로 들어오게 되었을 경우 다시 그 시나리오의 동작을 가능케 하기 위한 시나리오 복구 방안을 제안한다.
