Handling vast amount of data found in large transactional datasets is an obvious challenge for the conventional data mining algorithms. Addressing this challenge, our paper proposes a parallel approach for proper decomposition of mining problem into sub-problems in order to find frequent patterns from these datasets. The proposed, Pattern Mining for Large Distributed Dataset (PMLDD) approach, ensures minimum dependencies as well as minimum communications among sub-problems. It establishes a linear aggregation of the intermediate results so that it can be adapted to large-scale programming models like MapReduce. In this context, an algorithmic structure for MapReduce programming model is presented. PMLDD guarantees an efficient load balancing among the sub-problems by a specific selection criterion. Further, it optimizes the number of required iterations over the dataset for mining frequent patterns as compared to the existing approaches. Finally, we believe that our approach is scalable enough to handle larger datasets in terms of performance evaluation, and the result analysis justifies all these mentioned concerns.

Use of information technology in providing efficient library services is inevitable in today's information world. Its implementation causes many challenges for all the stake holders. This study is an attempt to identify challenges faced by university libraries of Pakistan in information technology adoption. To elucidate the research problem, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods was used. Valid returned questionnaires (N=52) and recorded interviews of 51 LIS professionals with experience in library automation were analyzed to draw the results. The study determined that 'lack of training opportunities for LIS professionals' and 'lack of IT skills among the majority of LIS professionals' are major challenges to the adaptation of IT. Similarities were found in the results of this study and some previous studies conducted at national and international levels.
This paper determines the interactive effects of information technologies(IT) on corporate performances. IT was measured inclusively in terms of technology level, information level, functional level, and management level. Corporate performances were composed of the effectiveness of IT and the financial performance of a corporation. The effectiveness of IT was measured in terms of satisfaction with the support of IT department and with output information, whereas financial performance of corporation was measured in terms of market growth and profitability. Theoretical and empirical analyses lead to the followings. In the theoretical aspect, IT in a corporation needs to be measured broadly. And a study of IT related to corporate performance needs to use either a conversion effectiveness model or an intermediate effect model rather than a direct effect model. In the empirical aspect, the effectiveness of IT within an organization improves with some of the interactive effect of ITs including technology level, information level, functional level, and management level. So do some of the financial performances of a corporation.
Today's new engine of economic growth is innovative technology intensive SMEs. However, they have limited access to funding because of asymmetric information problems. Sharing of SME information helps reduce information asymmetry. This paper explains the Korean system of SME technology information sharing, as well as SME credit information sharing. It also provides theoretical analysis about the effects of the SME information sharing on banks' credit analysis activities, based on Karapetyan and Stacescu (2013). Sharing of SME credit and technology information expands the data set of banks and it will enhance their credit analysis. In addition, SME information sharing increases banks' investments in credit analysis activities. To encourage SME information sharing and production, the government can subsidize the production of SME technology information.

BARAM system that means 'wind' in Korean has been established as a virtual wind tunnel system for aircraft design. Its aim is to provide researchers with easy-to-use, production-level environment for all stages of CFD simulation. To cope with this goal an integrated environment with a set of CFD solvers is developed and coupled with an highly-efficient visualization software. BARAM has three improvements comparing with previous CFD simulation environments. First, it provides a new automatic mesh generation method for structured and unstructured grid. Second, it also provides real-time visualization for massive CFD data set. Third, it includes more high-fidelity CFD solvers than commercial solvers.

Recently, several studies have been carried on knowledge flow of science, technology, industry to establish STI policy. Still it is lack of studies on relationship of science-industry although there have been studied only in aspect of science-technology relationship or technology-industry relationship. This paper's purpose is to propose method to measure knowledge flow among science, technology, and industry by means of patent citation. After gathering knowledge flow data between science and technology through mapping citing patent and cited paper, it gets knowledge flows data between technology-industry by using OTC (OECD Technology Concordance), technology-industry mapping program. Basd on 2 types of knowledge flow data, it propose method to examine knowledge flow from science to industry by applying overlap function is a network link weight function.

In the edge of new jumping up in global market, our construction industry is required to develop a competitive power and new construction market. As a considerable global player, our construction industry and information technology industry are regarded as to achieve more competitiveness and new market by developing fusion technology between information and construction technology. But, practically not only the technologic barrier but unripe developing model, it is time to visualize fusion strategic model and possible area as a constructional point of view. The aim of fusion technology is to increase productivity by reducing labor power and over all life cycle cost and to suggest new market with effective demanding power such as ubiquitous-city. As a successful development model, both the demand driven approach dealing with prompt IT developing speed and a circular leading model boosted by leading group will be key factors.
Data Technology (DT) is a new technology which deals with data collection, data analysis, information generation from data, knowledge generation from modelling and future prediction. DT is a newly emerged interdisciplinary science & technology in this 21st century knowledge society. Even though the main body of DT is applied statistics, it also contains management information system (MIS), quality management, process system analysis and so on. Therefore, it is an interdisciplinary science and technology of statistics, management science, industrial engineering, computer science and social science. In this paper, first of all, the definition of DT is given, and then the effects and the basic properties of DT, the differences between IT and DT, the 6 step process for DT application, and a DT example are provided. Finally, the relationship among DT, e-Statistics and Data Mining is explained, and the direction of DT development is proposed.

Most organizations adopt a process-based approach to manage their operations and now business process management(BPM) is a well-established concept. Because ISO 9001:2000 has been influenced by BPR and it also emphasizes process based, BPM can get together with ISO 9001:2000. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information has taken ISO 9001:2000 certificate in November 11, 2003 and now implements quality management systems based on BPMS. We call it KQMS(KISTI Quality Management System). KQMS based on BPMS is a new example in field of ISO quality management and is expected to support process management well.

Mobile social network can be seen as a specific application of the DTN (Delay Tolerant Network), in which the information propagation can be impacted by many social behaviors of the nodes. For a specific node, its social behaviors are various. For example, the node may not be interested in the information before receiving it and may also discard the information after getting it. On the other hand, people are more willing to forward the message to his friends. These interactive behaviors between nodes can be seen as social behaviors. It is easy to see that the impact of the social behaviors is related to the social ties, which can be manifested by the structure of the social network. State of the art works often simply assumes that the social networks can be divided into some communities. At present, some works find that the structure of some social networks is scale-free. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a theoretical model to evaluate the impact of above social behaviors in the DTN-like scale-free network. Simulation shows the accuracy of the model. Numerical results show that both social behaviors and scale-free character have significant impact on information propagation. Moreover, the impact of social behaviors is related to the scale-free character of the networks.
