  • The function of administration and maintenance on the TDX-1 digital switching system, which have been developed in ETRI(Electrotechnology and Telecommunications Research Institute), are reported. In administration, the functions of charging, statistics, data handling, man-mechine communication and I/0 device control are described. In maintenance, the function of fault detection and processing, status handling and alarm described.

  • To keep an enterprise's competitiveness on the condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only in production and maintenance but also in related industrial productivity. This paper presents the study of equipment reliability improvement for rotary-machine vibration analysis. Based on these analyses, the maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique are studied by using of the real-time diagnostic. Therefore, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety when we use this system.

Design of a Plant Life Cycle Data Management System for Plant Operation and Maintenance (플랜트 설계 및 운영 데이터 통합관리 시스템 설계)

  • Plant life cycle consists of design, construction, certification, operation, and maintenance phases, and various and enormous plant life cycle data is involved in each phase. Plant life cycle data should be linked with each other based on its proper relationships, so that plant operators can access necessary plant data during their regular operations and maintenance works. Currently, the relationships of plant life cycle data may not be defined explicitly, or they are scattered over several plant information systems. This paper proposes high level design of a plant life cycle data management system based on pre-defined plant life cycle database design. ISO-15926 standard is adapted for the database design. User-interface designs of the plant life cycle data management system are explained based on analysis of plant owners' requirements. A conceptual design of the database is also described with the entity-relationship diagram.

A Case Study on Improvement of Records Management Reference Table by Reorganizing BRM : The case of Reorganization of Seoul's BRM and Records Management Reference Table (BRM 정비를 통한 기록관리기준표 개선사례 서울시 BRM 및 기록관리기준표 정비사례를 중심으로)

  • Unlike other government agencies, the city of Seoul experienced a three-year gap between the establishment of a function classification system and the introduction of a business management system. As a result, the city has been unable to manage the current status of the function classification system, and this impeded the establishment of standards for records management. In September 2012, the Seoul Metropolitan Government integrated the department in charge of the standard sheet for record management with the department of function classification system into a new department: "Information Disclosure Policy Division." This new department is mainly responsible for record management and information disclosure, and taking this as an opportunity, the city government has pushed ahead with the maintenance project on BRM and Standards for Record Management (hereby "BRM maintenance project") over the past two years, from 2013 to 2014. The study was thus conducted to introduce the case for the improvement of standards for record management through the BRM maintenance project by mainly exploring the case of Seoul. During the BRM maintenance project, Seoul established a unique methodology to minimize the gap between the operation of a business management system and the burden of the person in charge of the BRM maintenance project. Furthermore, after the introduction of the business management system, the city government developed its own processes and applied the maintenance result to the system in close cooperation with the related departments, despite the lack of precedence on the maintenance of the classification system. In addition, training for the BRM managers of the department has taken place twice -before and after the maintenance-for the successful performance of the BRM maintenance project and the stable operation of the project in the future. During the period of maintenance, newsletters were distributed to all employees in an effort to induce their active participation and increase the importance of records management. To keep the performance of the maintenance project and to systematically manage BRM in the future, the city government has mapped out several plans for improvement: to apply the "BRM classification system of each purpose" to the service of the "Seoul Open Data Plaza"; to reinforce the function for task management in the business management system; and to develop the function of a records management system for the unit tasks. As such, the researchers hope that this study would serve as a helpful reference so that the organizations-which had planned to introduce BRM or to perform the maintenance project on classification system-experience fewer trials and errors.

  • TPM(Total Productive Management) that is enforcing introducing more than $80\%$ in domestic manufacturing industry is using total plant efficiency by the evaluation index, and as a result, can see a lot of examples that plant productivity is increased. This study's purpose centers total productive management activities that is management system for total plant efficiency's maximization, plant information system that total productive management activities factor that is enforcing in manufacturing industry can develop evaluation model that can evaluate qualitative activities by quantitative activities in process that maximize total plant efficiency wishes to do design.

  • In recent years, with the rapid development of large and medium-sized urban rail transit in China, the total operating mileage of high-speed railway and the total number of EMUs(Electric Multiple Units) are rising. The system complexity of high-speed EMU is constantly increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for the safety of equipment and the efficiency of maintenance.At present, the maintenance mode of high-speed EMU in China still adopts the post maintenance method based on planned maintenance and fault maintenance, which leads to insufficient or excessive maintenance, reduces the efficiency of equipment fault handling, and increases the maintenance cost. Based on the intelligent operation and maintenance technology of PHM(prognostics and health management). This thesis builds an integrated PHM platform of "vehicle system-communication system-ground system" by integrating multi-source heterogeneous data of different scenarios of high-speed EMU, and combines the equipment fault mechanism with artificial intelligence algorithms to build a fault prediction model for traction motors of high-speed EMU.Reliable fault prediction and accurate maintenance shall be carried out in advance to ensure safe and efficient operation of high-speed EMU.

  • This study proposed a system that can improve the employment rate and maintenance employment rate by filtering information related to employment in analyzing big data for students who want to find employment. The subject was a two-year female university, the existing employment strategy participated in the job search with simple information such as school grades and personality. As a result, the maintenance employment rate was relatively low due to the decrease in the satisfaction of students seeking employment and the incompatibility with the post-employment aptitude. In order to solve these problems, we propose a system that determines and filters whether the input data in the process of analyzing big data such as employment-related information to improve employment and maintenance employment rates.

  • Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), particularly remote monitoring, is an emerging field with great potential to help infrastructure owners obtain more and up-to-date knowledge of their structures. The methodology could provide supplemental information to guide the frequency and extent of visual inspections, and the possible need for maintenance. The instrumentation for a SHM system needs to be developed with longevity and the objectives for the system in mind. Sensors need to be selected for reliability and durability, sited where they provide the maximum information for the objectives, and where they can be accessed and replaced should the need arise over the monitoring period. With the rapid changes now occurring with sensors and software, flexibility needs to be in place to allow the system to be upgraded over time. Damage detection needs to be considered in terms of the type of damage that needs to be detected, informing maintenance requirements, and how detection can be achieved. Current vibration analysis techniques appear not yet to have achieved the necessary sensitivity for that purpose. Societal factors will influence the design of a SHM system in terms of the sophistication of the instrumentation and methodology employed.

Intelligent Fault Diagnosis System for Enhancing Reliability of Coil-Spring Manufacturing Process

  • The condition of the manufacturing process in a factory should be diagnosed and maintained efficiently because any unexpected disorder in the process will be reason to decrease the efficiency of the overall system. However, if an expert experienced in this system leaves, there will be a problem for the efficient process diagnosis and maintenance, because disorder diagnosis within the process is normally dependent on the expert's experience. This paper suggests a process diagnosis using data mining based on the collected data from the coil-spring manufacturing process. The rules are generated for the relations between the attributes of the process and the output class of the product using a decision tree after selecting the effective attributes. Using the generated rules from decision tree, the condition of the current process is diagnosed and the possible maintenance actions are identified to correct any abnormal condition. Then, the appropriate maintenance action is recommended using the decision network.

  • The O&M (Operation and Maintenance) phase of offshore plants with a long life cycle requires heavy charges and more efforts than the construction phase, and the occurrence of an accident of an offshore plant causes catastrophic damage. So previous studies have focused on design for reliability, and recently many studies have dealt with a maintenance system to prevent unexpected failures. Nowadays due to the emerging ICTs (Information Communication Technologies) and sensor technologies, it is possible to send health monitoring information of important equipment to administrator of an offshore plant in real time, which leads to having much concern on condition based maintenance policy or predictive maintenance. In this study, we have reviewed previous studies associated with condition-based maintenance of offshore plants, and introduced the approaches predicting failures of the compressor which is one of essential mechanical devices in LNG FPSO.
