  • This study is about developing an app that offers tourist information and it was made to search festivals, camping, and glamping regions near the area. Also, by providing cooking recipe, it was made to provide convenience at the tour site. While searching recommended regions, it offers help in searching accommodations and checking in and checking out process. If the service is expanded nation-wide from the Gyeonggido area that this study was applied to, it will be more convenient for users and if the service is expanded and coupled with local coupons, quality services will be provided.

  • This research studied future directions of Internet technology toward supporting group decision making. From the previous research, this study classified requirements of group decision support systems into three categories which are information transfer, information provision, and communication control. For each of the category, this study analyzed the limits of current Internet functions. Next, this research discussed technological solutions, for each of the OSI 7 layers, toward supporting group decision making. Additional functions in Internet which are required for group supporting are tracing communications, application dependent coding, selection of communication modes, and security handling. For high speed data communication in Internet, this research discussed the potential of cell-switching technology for the lower level link in Internet. The conclusions of this research can be used for designing future group decision support systems and development of Internet.

  • Users are able to use the information and service more free than previous wire network due to development of wireless network and device. For this reason, various studies on ubiquitous networks have been conducted. Various contexts brought in this ubiquitous environment, have recognized user's action through sensors. This results in the provision of better services. Because services exist in various places in ubiquitous networks, the application has the time of services searching. In addition, user's context is very dynamic, so a method needs to be found to recommend services to user by context. Therefore, techniques for reducing the time of service and increasing accuracy of recommendation are being studied. But it is difficult to quickly and appropriately provide large numbers of services, because only basic context information is stored. For this reason, we suggest DUPS(Dimension User Profile System), which stores location, time, and frequency information of often used services. Because previous technique used to simple information for recommending service without predicting services which is going to use on future, we can provide better service, and improve accuracy over previous techniques.

  • We examine the effects of the complexity of tax-related information on the issuance of analyst's pre-tax income forecast and its value relevance. If analysts respond adequately to the needs of investors, they are more likely to provide a pre-tax income forecast. The provision of a pre-tax income forecast may indicate analysts' confidence in assessing the quality of earnings. Thus, investors, in turn, would be more confident in the analysts' pre-tax income forecasts if analysts provide both pre-tax and earnings forecasts than only the latter. Using a sample of Korean listed companies for 2005-2014, we find that analysts are likely to provide an implicit tax forecast when the volatility of the effective tax rate is low and the book-tax differences are small. We also find that when analysts provide pre-tax and after tax income forecasts, the value relevance for unexpected earnings increases. These results indicate that analysts are likely to be interested in corporate tax information and the complexity of tax-related information affects the availability of implicit tax forecasts. Furthermore, this study provides empirical evidence that when analysts provide both pre-tax and after tax income forecasts, investors have more confidence in analysts' earnings forecasts, which results in greater investors' responses.

  • As to the recent advances in computer technologies and high-speed networks, telecommunication services and provision of multimedia services will be provided on the basic of a new software architecture adapting networking infrastructure on open information networking architecture. In this paper, the video conference services has been selected as a target service example because it is expected to become one of the most important services on the full service network. In fact, it can be viewed as the basis for providing telecommunication services such as video telephony and video conferencing. This paper presents the prototyping of TINA (Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture) based desktop video conference system using the concepts of session management. The prototyping of desktop video conference system aims at assessing TINA concepts and refinement of the mapping between session graph and connection graph, and provides object modeling methodologies towards distribution and objected-orientation.

  • This study examines factors associated with fixed budgets for pharmaceuticals and clawback system for pharmaceutical industry in European countries. We used information from a survey held in 2005~2006 by Austrian Health Institute. Several information including pharmaceutical pricing policies, marketing conditions for pharmaceutical industry and patient' choice of drugs was collected. Five out of twenty five countries in EU were considered as countries with fixed budgets for pharmaceuticals and remaining 20 countries were considered as countries without fixed budget system. Comparisons were made for each information. Countries with fixed budgets for pharmaceuticals were more likely to have internal (or external) reference pricing system and other pricing mechanisms. In addition, they were more likely to permit pharmaceutical industry to be engaged in public advertising and information provision towards patients. They guaranteed patient participation in drug choice decisions. The countries with fixed budgets for pharmaceuticals were more likely to have conditions that enable the fixed budget system to work better compared to those without fixed budget system. Therefore, the study results imply that we need to check whether we have similar conditions to the countries that already have fixed budgets for pharmaceuticals when we want to introduce fixed budget mechanism for pharmaceuticals in Korea in the future.

  • This research describes the comparison broker's role and its effectiveness measurement using a developed logical framework of comparison shopping service. And verifies that seller-led comparison challenge method provide comparison information of products to buyers more efficiently. In electronic commerce, buyer's satisfaction of purchase (S) can be defined as an interactive function between seller's competitiveness vector (P) of products that supplied to the market, and buyer's informed level vector (B) of products that is known from a lot of sources. Then the buyer's informed level can be changed through the information analysis among products by transformation process using comparison matrix (C). So the role of comparison shopping is to construct a comparison matrix and to serve it to the buyers, and to change the buyer's informed level. The changed informed level influences a buyer's satisfaction, that improved satisfaction of purchase is defined as the effectiveness of comparison shopping. As a perfect provision and usage of comparison matrix is impossible cause of cognitive limit, the most efficient method for improving the comparison effectiveness is the comparison challenge that detects the comparison elements of the largest buyer's information efficiency, and then to be compared between elementary products selectively. This research verifies the substantial superiority of comparison challenge through television market data experiments.

  • A cloud computing system can be characterized by the provision of resources in the form of services to third parties on a leased, usage-based basis, as well as the private infrastructures maintained and utilized by individual organizations. To attain the desired reliability and energy efficiency in a cloud data center, trade-offs need to be carried out between system performance and power consumption. Resolving these conflicting goals is often the major challenge encountered in the design of optimization strategies for cloud data centers. The work presented in this paper is directed towards the development of an Energy-efficient and Performance-aware Cloud System equipped with strategies for dynamic switching of optimization approach. Moreover, a platform is also provided for the deployment of a Wind Farm CMS (Condition Monitoring System) which allows ubiquitous access. Due to the geographically-dispersed nature of wind farms, the CMS can take advantage of the cloud's highly scalable architecture in order to keep a reliable and efficient operation capable of handling multiple simultaneous users and huge amount of monitoring data. Using the proposed cloud architecture, a Wind Farm CMS is deployed in a virtual platform to monitor and evaluate the aging conditions of the turbine's major components in concurrent, yet isolated working environments.

  • In this digital environment, license contracting and technical protection measure are being used by copyright holders as a means to restrict the rights of information users. The study reviewed the conflicting relationship between the copyright law and the contract law for digital resources the use of which is based on license contracting, and investigated the legal interpretations of the conflicting relationship between the two. And then based on the analysis of IF LA's position on copyright in the digital environment, the study suggested the expected role of librarians to cope with the technological overrides of copyright rules and to expand the rights of information users.
