  • There have been researches into digital Watermarking technology or Fingerprinting vigorously to safeguard Protective rights for knowledge and poverty for digital contents. DRM(Digital Rights Management) is not only Protective rights for knowledge and poverty, but also management and systems that are necessary to put out, circulate and use for contents. This paper proposes two kinds of ideas. One is protecting contents from illegal acts such as illegal copies when the contents are in the process of circulation. The other is the protocol that can give users convenience. Hidden Agents are used so that contents are protected from illegal copies and illegal use in the contents and cuts off those illegal acts. The Agent will be installed without any special setup. In addition, it can replace roles of Watermarking as a protection. Therefore, this paper shows the solution of illegal copies that happens frequently.

  • Recently the demand for civil security and security guards shows rapid growth. However the supply and training system have some limitations. Educational and training systems for civil body and security guards are in the basic level and private organizations trained the professional work force. So this paper is showing what a social dominant factor and a divice of development of the private security. Capitalism is based on a material desire of the human being. the social control of capital value and the management of capital ability reflects the actual condition of the capitalism well. The unconstrained growing and the expansion of capitalism, it finally lost social meaning and an importance of human being element and the safety of the civilian life, began to threat the security of citizen by forming over the material center structure of society. Improving human life quality and material richness on their life leads positive factor of capitalism whereas is causing several crimes through the society which is being threatened around a human being life for a negative factor of the capitalism. Therefore capitalistic social system has offered both a positive factor 'growing' and 'richness' and that of a negative 'structural poverty' and 'lack of security' and they have been remaining the assignment of capitalism 'poverty' and 'security' by settlement in the society for a extremely phenomenon of both sides. In Korea because their recognition of the study approach and the social safety for social security control function is still staying first step and our daily life is annoying from various threat of the society. many studies and the realistic necessity of experience related with social security is being studied. In addition. The development possibility of the civil guard and defense at the civil field which will be keep the social security has a wide position but its study approach and realistic comprehension is still in insufficient condition.

Study on the Correlates of Digital Disparity among Older Seoul Residents (서울시 고령자의 정보격차 관련 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The use of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is closely related to the improvement of health and quality of life in later life. The elderly in general, however, face difficulty in adapting to ICT. The purpose of this study is to examine the social disparities and determinants in the use of information of the elderly residing in seoul. The data is based on the "2015-2016 Seoul Survey on Elderly Health and Functional Assessment", which include a total of 1,605 people aged 60 to 89. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the older, women, the lower educated, and those with restricted activity or poorer health were found to be the significant determinants of the digital poverty among older people. The results call for special attention to disparity within the older group to solve digital divide issues.

  • The signs of the information society are everywhere, as they became the essentials in ordinary citizen's everyday life. This change requires the modern man to have proper information literacy in order to maintain their lives, and the digital divide between the established and the marginalized in the society is being widened. The gap between the two classes is the single most significant factor in reproducing the socially marginalized such as the urban poor, the disabled, the aged and migrate foreign laborers, core information poor. This study attempts to scrutinize the social problem of information barriers as viewed through the everyday lives of five disabled people. Through various ethnographic positioning and research methods, information needs and information related behaviors, along with general recognitions and reality control strategies are investigated.

  • Library and information science(LIS) has been focused on the issues of information poverty and barriers and their relations, mainly in terms of current information users. However, potential users usually out of sight in library and information services undoubtedly are to be developed as legitimate clientele. In this regard, this paper attempts to shed light on some factors related to the methodological underpinnings of LIS. Ethnographic research is particularly highlighted. Since the mid 1980s, as full-fledged research of analyzing the contingencies of information use as situated in particular times and places. md using that analysis to inform user-centered information systems design LIS researchers and practitioners have been exploring possible use of ethnographic approaches, especially in studies investigating information world of the socially marginalized. This Paper addresses issues in conducting ethnographic studies in the discipline. This paper also discusses the experiences in conducting ethnographic based research md how the results of their studies may be or have been useful in improving information services fir specific populations.

  • The aim of this study is to explore the activities of public libraries in Korea about information divide issues. To do this, the web sites of 58 public libraries in Korea were investigated. On the basis of analysis, this study concluded that the activities of public libraries did not assist information have-nots, for example, people with disabilities, older adults, immigrants, rural residents and low income brackets and were insufficient to related guidelines of library services.

  • This study intends for providing a methodological foundation for information behavior research. To the end, we classify the 'Minority Groups' into two separate groups, ethnic minority and socio-economic minority. Then we reviewed the relevant literature with emphasis on analyzing the methodological characteristics. In details, our focus was on identifying the queries and variables of the collected major articles, and on introducing the methods used for data collection and interpretation in those articles.

  • The purpose of this study is to enhance the access and the use of international information sources by analyzing the types and the characteristics of information services and resources of the UN specialized agencies. A brief review of the goals and activities of the 16 specialized agencies involving every aspects of international affairs, such as agriculture, food standards, alleviating poverty, financial stability, labor conditions and health care, are presented with the discussions of the useful documents and publications available at the each agency's WWW page as well as access tools for the resources and information services of the agencies. Finally, some suggestions for more effective international information services are made.

Factors Associated with Channels of Health Information Used by Metropolitan City Residents (대도시 지역주민들의 건강정보 이용경로 관련 요인 분석 - 서울특별시 J구를 중심으로 -)

  • Objectives: This study was designed to understand the association between sociodemographic characteristics, health behaviors and channels retrieved for health information. Methods: Questionnaire survey was performed from April 2007 to May 2007 through household visiting. Sample was selected according to gender, household income, and residence district. We got 1,009 respondents and subgroups were as follows; 508 people had health insurance, 250 people were medical indigent group, and 251 people were medicaid beneficiaries. Results: People seemed to be separated into subgroups by channels used for health information. One was active and the other was passive group. Characteristics of passive group were older age, worker or inoccupation, less income, subjective poverty, lower education, loss of spouse, medical indigent or medicaid group. They usually got health information through mass media like TV and radio or medical professionals. Characteristics of active group were younger age, professional, more income, subjective affluence, higher education, single or married, and member of health insurance. They mainly got health information through printed media like newspaper or the Internet. Conclusion: We suggest to provide health information through various channels customed to individual needs and literacy. Public health stakeholders seems better to focus on people with low education, insufficient health literacy, poor health status, and short information technology.

  • Small business have very different characteristics from large business; notable, small business suffer from resource and capacity poverty. Without knowing the relative importance of limited resources and capacity in small business, it have limited practical contribution to e-business implementation success. This paper develops an exploratory resource-based model of e-business implementation for small business with 42 sample companies. The results show that three types of resource factors; IS/IT vender supports, the level of IS/IT knowledge, and financial support. The implication for research is that the resource-based view of the firm and the test an exploratory framework of resource factors are useful theories to ground future work on e-business implementation in small business.
