  • A data stream is a massive unbounded sequence of data elements continuously generated at a rapid rate. The continuous characteristic of streaming data necessitates the use of algorithms that require only one scan over the stream for knowledge discovery. Data mining over data streams should support the flexible trade-off between processing time and mining accuracy. In many application areas, mining frequent itemsets has been suggested to find important frequent itemsets by considering the weight of itemsets. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm WSFI (Weighted Support Frequent Itemsets)-Mine with normalized weight over data streams. Moreover, we propose a novel tree structure, called the Weighted Support FP-Tree (WSFP-Tree), that stores compressed crucial information about frequent itemsets. Empirical results show that our algorithm outperforms comparative algorithms under the windowed streaming model.

  • Purpose The development of the network and mobile industries has induced companies to invest in information systems, leading a new industrial revolution. The Journal of Information Systems, which developed the information system field into a theoretical and practical study in the 1990s, retains a 30-year history of information systems. This study aims to identify academic values and research trends of JIS by analyzing the trends. Design/methodology/approach This study aims to analyze the trend of JIS by compounding various methods, named as TLS mining analysis. TLS mining analysis consists of a series of analysis including Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) weight model, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling, and a text mining with Semantic Network Analysis. Firstly, keywords are extracted from the research data using the TF-IDF weight model, and after that, topic modeling is performed using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm to identify issue keywords. Findings The current study used the summery service of the published research paper provided by Korea Citation Index to analyze JIS. 714 papers that were published from 2002 to 2012 were divided into two periods: 2002-2011 and 2012-2021. In the first period (2002-2011), the research trend in the information system field had focused on E-business strategies as most of the companies adopted online business models. In the second period (2012-2021), data-based information technology and new industrial revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, SNS, and mobile had been the main research issues in the information system field. In addition, keywords for improving the JIS citation index were presented.

  • The mines in our country are complex in geography and shape and because of its small scale, accurate surveying performance and 3D modeling are necessary for mine development and management and mining plans. However, due to the data acquisition and processing technology and economy, the existing methods are currently used. The structure, mining, and mining area of the mine are recorded and managed based on the 2D drawings. As a result, it is true that there is risk of accidents caused by problems of accuracy as well as waste of personnel and time. In recent years, research data on geology and geospatial information on mines have been integrated into a database in foreign countries, and they are used for mine management and mining planning. In this study, we tried to construct spatial information for mining management and mining plan using laser scanner. Through research, spatial information about the mine was effectively obtained and produced data modeled through data processing. The 3D model for mining mines is expected to be a valuable tool for establishing and operating a safe mining plan for mines.

  • This paper is to investigate the efficiency of the process of data preparation for existing data mining tools, and present a design principle for a new efficient data preparation system . We compare the often used data mining tools based on the access method to local and remote databases, and on the exchange of information resources between different computers. The compared data mining tools are Answer Tree, Clementine, Enterprise Miner, and Weka. We propose a design principle for an efficient system for data preparation for data mining on the distributed networks.

  • Data mining is the method to find useful information for large amounts of data in database. It is used to find hidden knowledge by massive data, unexpectedly pattern, and relation to new rule. The methods of data mining are decision tree, association rules, clustering, neural network and so on. We analyze industrial waste database using data mining technique. We use k-means algorithm for clustering and C5.0 algorithm for decision tree and Apriori algorithm for association rule. We can use these outputs for environmental preservation and environmental improvement.

  • With the explosive increase in the generation and utilization of spatiotemporal data sets, many research efforts have been focused on the efficient handling of the large volume of spatiotemporal sets. With the remarkable growth of ubiquitous computing technology, mining from the huge volume of spatiotemporal data sets is regarded as a core technology which can provide real world applications with intelligence. In this paper, we propose a 3-tier knowledge discovery framework for spatiotemporal data mining. This framework provides a foundation model not only to define the problem of spatiotemporal knowledge discovery but also to represent new knowledge and its relationships. Using the proposed knowledge discovery framework, we can easily formalize spatiotemporal data mining problems. The representation model is very useful in modeling the basic elements and the relationships between the objects in spatiotemporal data sets, information and knowledge.

  • Data mining is the process of sorting through large amounts of data and picking out useful information. One of the well-studied problems in data mining is the exploration of association rules. An association rule technique finds the relation among each items in massive volume database. Some interestingness measures have been developed in association rule mining. Interestingness measures are useful in that it shows the causes for pruning uninteresting rules statistically or logically. This paper propose a conditional pure confidence to evaluate association rules and then describe some properties for a proposed measure. The comparative studies with confidence and pure confidence are shown by numerical example. The results show that the conditional pure confidence is better than confidence or pure confidence.

  • A personalized product recommendation is an enabling mechanism to overcome information overload occurred when shopping in an Internet marketplace. Collaborative filtering has been known to be one of the most successful recommendation methods, but its application to e-commerce has exposed well-known limitations such as sparsity and scalability, which would lead to poor recommendations. This paper suggests a personalized recommendation methodology by which we are able to get further effectiveness and quality of recommendations when applied to an Internet shopping mall. The suggested methodology is based on a variety of data mining techniques such as web usage mining, decision tree induction, association rule mining and the product taxonomy. For the evaluation of the methodology, we implement a recommender system using intelligent agent and data warehousing technologies.

  • This paper aims to find the most effective feature selection method for the sake of opinion mining tasks. Basically, opinion mining tasks belong to sentiment analysis, which is to categorize opinions of the online texts into positive and negative from a text mining point of view. By using the five product groups dataset such as apparel, books, DVDs, electronics, and kitchen, TF-IDF and Bag-of-Words(BOW) fare calculated to form the product review feature sets. Next, we applied the feature selection methods to see which method reveals most robust results. The results show that the stacking classifier based on those features out of applying Information Gain feature selection method yields best result.

  • In the era of the Web 2.0, characterized by the openness, sharing and participation, it is easy for internet users to produce and share the data. The amount of the unstructured data which occupies most of the digital world's data has increased exponentially. One of the kinds of the unstructured data called personal online product reviews is necessary for both the company that produces those products and the potential customers who are interested in those products. In order to extract useful information from lots of scattered review data, the process of collecting data, storing, preprocessing, analyzing, and drawing a conclusion is needed. Therefore we introduce the text-mining methodology for applying the natural language process technology to the text format data like product review in order to carry out extracting structured data by using R programming. Also, we introduce the data-mining to derive the purpose-specific customized information from the structured review information drawn by the text-mining.
