  • In this study, a discrete-event simulation model is developed to estimate load factors and the corresponding revenues under different pricing and dispatching policies. The model has been employed to forecast the inbound and the outbound air cargo demands of the major Northeastern Chinese cities, and the simulation results were compared to the actual demands obtained from real-life airline operations. The statistical analysis confirms that the simulation model is able to provide accurate estimates for air cargo demands, and thus, the model may be employed to be a useful tool for air cargo demand management.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review behavior change theories in terms of important variables, concept definitions, and applicability to diabetes self-management behavior. Methods: Six behavior change theories (the Transtheoretical Model, the Health Belief Model, the Theory of Reasoned Action, the Theory of Planned Behavior, Social cognitive theory, and Information-Motivation-Behavioral skills Model) were reviewed which were applied in diabetes self-management interventions. Results: The five key concepts from the five non-stage behavior change theories were delineated. Based on the key concepts, a theoretical framework was formulated as the explanatory model of diabetes self-management behaviors. The four major concepts in Information-Motivation- Behavioral skills Model were included. The cognitive arm of the proposed theoretical framework included constructs related to diabetes knowledge, motivation (beliefs, attitude, social norm), self-efficacy, and intention. Conclusion: The theoretical framework described here includes the key factors of successful diabetes self- management intervention. However, the concept of motivation needs further exploration and clarification for operationalization.

  • This paper studies small and medium sized financial agency's management states that take advantage of the Korea Federation of Saving Bank's data. It also presents the management state and the decision-making model that monitors progressive insolvency by standardizing transfer path between relevant groups. With this in mind, we extracted explanatory variables for predictions of insolvency by using existing studies of document related insolvency. First of all, we designed a state model based on demarcated groups to take advantage of the self organizing map that groups in line with a neural network. Secondly, we developed a transition model by standardizing the transfer path between individual banks in a state model. Finally, we presented a decision-making model that integrated the state model and the transition model. This paper will provide groundwork for methods of insolvency prevention to businesses in order for them to have a smooth management system in the financial agencies.

  • Grid technologies make it possible for IT resources to be shared across organizational and security domains. The traditional identity-based access control mechanisms are unscalable and difficult to manage. Thus, we propose the FAS (Federation Agent Server) model which is composed of three modules: Certificate Conversion Module (CCM), Role Decision Module (RDM), and Authorization Decision Module (ADM). The proposed FAS model is an extended Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model which provides resource access capabilities based on roles assigned to the users. FAS can solve the problem of assigning multiple identities to a shared local name in grid-map file and mapping the remote entity's identity to a local name manually.

  • In this days, information resources are very important in the organization. So, Many public institutions as well as private companies eager to IRM(information resource management). Especially, one of core elements in this IRM is sizing for information system. But, many cases of sizing is executed independently, even though hardware and software are very strongly connected, Many people say that it is not efficiency. In this paper, we have established the integrated sizing model for information system. The proposed model based on hardware sizing guidelines, announced by National Information Society Agency, and software price guidelines, announced by Korean software promotion agency.

  • Many researchers have proved that risk measurement of information systems is a very effective tool for improving confidence of information systems. However, information system risk in Korea still includes many subjective judgements. This study deals with applying a quantitative model to improve risk measurement of information system quality. First of all, we have come up with solutions to improve the evaluation efficiency on risk measurement. We have merged the risk guidelines of COBIT and CMM, and developed a quantified evaluation scheme that call by risk point. We have proved the validity of this model by interviews with experts and by case studies.

  • Some laws and regulations may require internet service providers to provide services based on the age of users. Age verification in the online environment should be used as a tool to provide service that is appropriate to child based on age. Using the minimum attribute information, processes on age verification provides the proper guidance to the internet services. However, there is a lack of a globally accepted trust framework for age verification process including evaluation factors for age verification information. In this paper the federation model of user attributes were described and evaluation factors for the age verification information were suggested. Also using the suggested evaluation factors, performance evaluation of federation model of user evaluation was performed. To meet the requirements of evaluation factors, framework of federation model should consider the unlinkability pseudonym support, eavesdropping protection and cloning protection.

  • Many Korean financial firms have built knowledge management systems, however, most of the systems have fragmentary ideas or suggestions. This study proposes the model of ontology-based knowledge repository through which one could integrate knowledge for business use in the BPM environments. The knowledge includes implicit and explicit knowledge. library materials, documents, and information for experts as well. In order to get basic ideas for this model, case studies utilized interviews and surveys were conducted targeting at four Korean banks' knowledge managers, librarians and thirty staffs.

  • Traditionally. theses and dissertations have been extremely underutilized information sources due to their lack of physical availability. The development of electronic theses and dissertations system will provide the opportunity for theses and dissertations to be recognized as a basic channel for the dissemination of research findings and an essential resource in the discovery process. In digital environment. many universities and libraries throughout the world are now making digitized versions of traditional(print) dissertations available online. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current theses and dissertations management system based on web questionaries and survey of home pages. and to suggest a standardized theses and dissertation management model in Korea.

  • This study introduces the integration-style knowledge management of digital libraries in extended library concept, for integrated knowledge system which can provide various types of knowledge, and presents the knowledge-rump-type knowledge management model. By applying the model to the cases of several institutions, the processes and levels of extension are analyzed, and the important tasks for activating knowledge management are suggested. The knowledge pump embodies ideal roles of the digital libraries that activate the acquisition and distribution of knowledge. It is significant that the digital libraries, which used to remain as a simple application of information technology, not only present logical basis and way for extending their roles and areas, but also explain the implementation methodologies.
