호텔 뷔페 레스토랑의 서비스 품질 인식차이(Gap)에 대한 포지셔닝 연구 -다차원척도법(MDS)을 활용하여 - (The Positioning of Cognitive Gap on the Hotel Buffet Restaurant Performance in Korea)

  • Up to these days, hotels are assumed to compete each other. Due to the spread of high quality the hotel buffet restaurants have begun to face an intensive competition. Hotel Buffet Restaurant have become the more competitive along with fund, good price, service, quality food, and management know-how. It causes the hotel restaurants confront with management difficulties. In order to overcome the management difficulties, hotel buffet restaurants have to improve their marketing abilities and especially to improve their service quality. For this, it is necessary for hotel buffet restaurants to investigate how their service providers and receivers recognize their service quality. In this research, we examined the cognitive three types of cognitive gaps among customers, service providers, and managers both on the service quality and on the positioning of hotel buffet restaurants. Their cognitive gaps proved negatively correlated with hotel's performance. This research suggests the fellowing findings. Firstly, the competitiveness of hotel buffet restaurant depends on the accurate communication and consensus among managers, service providers, and customers. Secondly, using the information about cognitive gaps recognized, each hotel buffet restaurant should develop concrete marketing plans and strategies with a careful consideration about its current competitive position and management condition.

Channel Gap Measurements of Irradiated Plate Fuel and Comparison with Post-Irradiation Plate Thickness

  • One of the salient nuclear fuel performance parameters for new fuel types under development is changes in fuel thickness. To test the new commercially fabricated U-10Mo monolithic plate-type fuel, an irradiation experiment was designed that consisted of multiple mini-plate capsules distributed within the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) core, the mini-plate 1 (MP-1) experiment. Each capsule contains eight mini-plates that were either fueled or "dummy" plates. Fuel thickness changes within a fuel assembly can be characterized by measuring the gaps between the plates ultrasonically. The channel gap probe (CGP) system is designed to measure the gaps between the plates and will provide information that supports qualification of U-10Mo monolithic fuel. This study will discuss the design and the results from the use of a custom-designed CGP system for characterizing the gaps between mini-plates within the MP-1 capsules. To ensure accurate and repeatable data, acceptance and calibration procedures have been developed. Unfortunately, there is no "gold" standard measurement to compare to CGP measurements. An effort was made to use plate thickness obtained from post-irradiation measurements to derive channel gap estimates for comparison with the CGP characterization.

무관심에서 호기심으로 -초등예비교사의 물리에 대한 호기심과 흥미 향상을 위한 초등과학 교사교육자의 실행연구- (Eliciting Curiosity from Indifference: Action Research of an Elementary Science Teacher Educator Aimed at Stimulating Preservice Elementary School Teachers' Curiosity and Interest Physics )

  • 이 연구에서는 초등예비교사를 위한 과학 교수법 수업을 진행하는 교사교육자가 수업에서 마주하게 된 초등예비교사의 과학에 대한 낮은 흥미와 호기심 수준의 원인이 무엇인지 파악한 후 이를 해소하기 위한 실천 계획을 탐색하고 수업에 적용하고 성찰하였다. 이러한 실행연구를 통해 초등예비교사를 위한 과학 수업에서 교수 실천을 개선하고 초등예비교사의 과학에 대한 흥미와 호기심을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 초등과학교재연구 물리영역 수업에 참여한 초등예비교사를 대상으로 총 3차에 걸쳐 실행과 성찰을 반복하는 나선형적 실행구조를 설계하였고, 수업 일지, 학생의 참여 데이터, 동료 및 자기 평가 결과, 초등예비교사의 강의평가 결과 등을 수집하고 분석하였다. 초등예비교사의 과학에 대한 호기심이 낮은 이유를 정보격차의 인식과 표현력 부족 및 정보격차의 해소 의지가 낮기 때문으로 보고, 정보격차의 표현 연습, 정보격차를 인식할 수 있도록 지식수준 높이기, 정보격차의 해결의지 가지기 전략을 수업에 도입하였다. 단위 수업의 개선으로 변화할 수 있는 범위 내에서 초등예비교사는 이러한 과정 속에서 과학에 대한 호기심을 가지고 이를 표현할 수 있게 되었다.

A Follow-up Study on Smart Divide Issues in Korean Rural Area

  • Digital divide commonly means the gap among diverse stakeholders, businesses, physical areas, and individual people in terms of opportunities, accessibilities, and usabilities (Acilar, 2011). Lee and Park (2011) and Barzilai-Nahon (2006) suggested that the digital divide issues should be considered as an important public issue because proper public response may enhance or reduce the information gaps by the digital divide. This study is a follow-up study of the study of Lee and Park. This study's main aim is to clarify the changes of the digital divide in the rural areas during five years and to find out meaningful factors to reduce the gaps between the rural area and urban area. To achieve the research aim, this study analyzes the public data by ITSTAT and previous studies on the digital divide. Also this study follows the system thinking approach to model the causal relationships among diverse factors on the digital divide. With the results, this study suggests that the factors to measure the digital divide should be re-designed including smartphone penetration and accessibilities. Especially, current digital divide scoring factors should be considered in the way of social welfare.

정보보호 전문인력의 소요 지식 및 기술에 대한 산업체와 교육기관의 관점 비교 (Differences in Perception of Information Security Knowledge and Skills Between Academia and Industry)

  • 정보보호 분야에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 정보보호 인력 양성에 대한 연구가 다각도로 진행되어 왔다. 현재 정보보호는 그 적용 분야가 광범위해짐에 따라 정보보호 인력이 수행하는 업무 범위도 증가하고 있어 보다 효율적인 인력의 양성 및 관리를 위한 노력이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 정보보호 전문인력이 직무수행시 필요로 하는 전문 지식 및 기술을 분석하여 교육 프로그램 개발 및 운영에 반영해야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 문헌고찰 및 델파이 방법을 통해 정보보호 분야의 58개 지식 및 기술을 도출하고 산업체와 교육기관에 종사중인 정보보호 전문인력을 대상으로 각 자식 및 기술에 대한 필요정도 및 숙련정도를 조사하였다. 이와 함께 두 분야 전문인력의 정보보호 지식 및 기술에 대한 인식의 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 정보보호 신규인력을 배출하는 교육기관과 신규인력에 대한 수요처인 산업체 간 인식의 격차를 최소화하고 상대적으로 산엽 현장에서 요구하는 지식 및 기술을 중심으로 한 교육 프로그램의 개발과 운영을 위해 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Finding approximate occurrence of a pattern that contains gaps by the bit-vector approach

  • The application of finding occurrences of a pattern that contains gaps includes information retrieval, data mining, and computational biology. As the biological sequences may contain errors, it is important to find not only the exact occurrences of a pattern but also approximate ones. In this paper we present an O(mnk$_{max}$/w) time algorithm for the approximate gapped pattern matching problem, where m is the length of the text, H is the length of the pattern, w is the word size of the target machine, and k$_{max}$ is the greatest error bound for subpatterns.

  • A rigorous analysis method of electromagentic scattering from frequency selective surface with gridded square loop elements in case of oblique incident and arbitrary polarization is presented, which uses the roof-top subdomain basis function. The frequency response and polarization characteristics of the reflected wave and the transmitted wave for various widths of the grid and the conductor square loop, and for the various gaps between the grid and the conductor square loop, and for the various gaps between the grid and square loop is investigated. To confirm the validity of presented method, frequency selective surfaces with gridded square loop elements are fabricated with honeycomb structures, calculate dvalues for the frequency response of the reflected wave and the transmitted wave for arbitrary incident angle and polarization are compared with measured values.

Statistical Analysis of Bivariate Recurrent Event Data with Incomplete Observation Gaps

  • Subjects can experience two types of recurrent events in a longitudinal study. In addition, there may exist intermittent dropouts that results in repeated observation gaps during which no recurrent events are observed. Therefore, theses periods are regarded as non-risk status. In this paper, we consider a special case where information on the observation gap is incomplete, that is, the termination time of observation gap is not available while the starting time is known. For a statistical inference, incomplete termination time is incorporated in terms of interval-censored data and estimated with two approaches. A shared frailty effect is also employed for the association between two recurrent events. An EM algorithm is applied to recover unknown termination times as well as frailty effect. We apply the suggested method to young drivers' convictions data with several suspensions.

Ontology-lexicon-based question answering over linked data

  • Recently, Linked Open Data has become a large set of knowledge bases. Therefore, the need to query Linked Data using question answering (QA) techniques has attracted the attention of many researchers. A QA system translates natural language questions into structured queries, such as SPARQL queries, to be executed over Linked Data. The two main challenges in such systems are lexical and semantic gaps. A lexical gap refers to the difference between the vocabularies used in an input question and those used in the knowledge base. A semantic gap refers to the difference between expressed information needs and the representation of the knowledge base. In this paper, we present a novel method using an ontology lexicon and dependency parse trees to overcome lexical and semantic gaps. The proposed technique is evaluated on the QALD-5 benchmark and exhibits promising results.

농산어촌지역 교육의 특성과 문제점 분석 -세 학교에 대한 문화기술적 접근- (An Ethnography on Educational Activities of Three Middle Schools in Rural Area)

  • This paper was to study characteristics of school types based on classification of rural areas. This study tried to provide basic data for implementing the development of rural education policy for the community unit by classifying and analyzing administrative districts. For the purpose, the researcher carried out literature reviews and selected three schools considering the gaps in size and location of rural community. The researcher interviewed teachers and parents, to gather information about rural education, and conducted participant observation on educational activities. As a result, this study showed each rural school has its own distinct characteristics by the school types corresponding to each rural community. Characteristics with school types were influenced by school location, possible migration into the cities, possible opportunities of private tutoring, school size, social class distribution, socio-economic status, dwelling pattern of school teachers. In conclusion, it is important that the educational policies for rural area consider the different characteristics of rural schools.
