  • In naval gun firing, firing accuracy comes from the combination of each component's accuracy in CFCS (Command and Fire Control System) like tracking sensors and gun. Generally, battery alignment is done to correct the error between gun and tracking sensor by using boresight telescope on harbor and sea. But normally, the battery alignment can compensate only the static alignment error and ignore dynamic alignment error which is caused by own ship movement. There was no research on this dynamic alignment error until now. We propose a new way to analyze dynamic arrangement error by using image of boresight telescope. In case of the dynamic alignment error was due to time delay of own ship attitude information, we propose the way to compensate it.

  • We introduce an error correcting 4/6 modulation codes for holographic data storage, and simulate under adding mis-alignment noise. The holographic data storage has two-dimensional intersymbol interference. To increase the channel performance, it is necessary to use modulation code. Furthermore, if the modulation code has trellis structure, error correcting capability is added. The error correcting 4/6 modulation code shows better performance than conventional modulation codes with and without mis-alignment noise.

  • In this paper, a novel error concealment, algorithm is proposed for the MPEG-4 video decoding. Apart from existing algorithms which fail to exhibit stable performance over various video sequences and error patterns, the proposed algorithm adopts a new hybrid scheme, which can achieve a consistent performance with reduced computational complexity. This algorithm is implemented on the basis of the MPEG-4 decoder, and the experimental results demonstrate that the new approach provides acceptable performance both subjectively and objectively at various bit error rates and video sequences.

  • Most video services are transmitted in wireless networks. In a network environment, a packet of video is likely to be lost during transmission. For this reason, numerous error concealment (EC) algorithms have been proposed to combat channel errors. On the other hand, most existing algorithms cannot conceal the whole missing frame effectively. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes a new Adaptive Prediction Unit-based Motion Vector Extrapolation (APMVE) algorithm to restore the entire missing frame encoded by High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). In each missing HEVC frame, it uses the prediction unit (PU) information of the previous frame to adaptively decide the size of a basic unit for error concealment and to provide a more accurate estimation for the motion vector in that basic unit than can be achieved by any other conventional method. The simulation results showed that it is highly effective and significantly outperforms other existing frame recovery methods in terms of both objective and subjective quality.

  • We propose a way to show the inherent learning complexity for the multilayer perceptron. We display the solution space and the error surfaces on the input space of a single neuron with two inputs. The evolution of its weights will follow one of the two error surfaces. We observe that when we use the back-propagation(BP) learning algorithm (1), the wight cam not jump to the lower error surface due to the implicit continuity constraint on the changes of weight. The self-relaxation approach is to explicity find out the best combination of all neurons' two error surfaces. The time complexity of training a multilayer perceptron by self-relaxationis exponential to the number of neurons.

  • The Durbin-Watson (DW) test in regression model and the Ljung-Box (LB) test in ARMA (autoregressive moving average) model are typical examples of correlated error tests. The DW test is used for detecting autocorrelation of errors using the residuals from a regression analysis. The LB test is used for specifying the correct ARMA model using the first some sample autocorrelations based on the residuals of a tted ARMA model. In this article, simulations with four data generating processes have been carried out to evaluate their performances as correlated error tests. Our simulations show that the DW test is severely dependent on the assumed AR(1) model but isn't sensitive enough to reject the misspecified model and that the LB test reports lackluster performance in general.

  • In this paper, a new distributed space-time coded (DS-TCed) non-orthogonal decode-and-forward (NDF) protocol with source antenna switching (SAS) is proposed, where two antennas associated with each radio frequency chain can be alternatively used in the first and second phases. Several DSTC schemes for the NDF with SAS (NDF-SAS) protocol are proposed and their average pairwise error probability for the error-free source-relay (SR) channel is also derived. The simulation results show that the NDF-SAS protocol achieves larger diversity order than the NDF protocol under the error-free and erroneous SR channels.

  • In this paper, we propose a downlink power control scheme to apply in the unequal error protection multi-code CDMA mobile medicine system. The mobile medicine system contains (i) blood pressure and body temperature measurement value, (ii) ECG medical signals measured by the electrocardiogram device, (iii) mobile patient's history, (iv) G.729 audio signal, MPEG-4 CCD sensor video signal, and JPEG2000 medical image. By the help of the multi-code CDMA spread spectrum communication system with downlink power control scheme and unequal error protection strategy, it is possible to transmit mobile medicine media and meet the quality of service. Numerical analysis and simulation results show that the system is a well transmission platform in mobile medicine.

  • We have studied and discussed the error rate performance of Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(QAM) in an environment of cochannel QAM interference and impulsive noise. A general equation of error probability for L-level QAM signal has been derived and the error rate of the 16-QAM signal, as an example, has been calculated as functions of carrier-to-noise power ratio(CNR), carrier-to-interferer power ratio(CIR), impulsive indes, and the phase difference between signal and interferer.

  • In adaptive antenna, recently Gooch suggested a new adaptive system using equation error method, but the system demands inverse model about the pole part and thus does not guarantee stability. In this paper, algorithm is proposed that has a basis on Popov's extra-stability theory. And system is developed of output error method. In addition, the result obtained by applying proposed algorithm to system of output error method is compared with that of Gooch model.
