Denoising Diffusion Null-space Model and Colorization based Image Compression

  • Image compression-decompression methods have become increasingly crucial in modern times, facilitating the transfer of high-quality images while minimizing file size and internet traffic. Historically, early image compression relied on rudimentary codecs, aiming to compress and decompress data with minimal loss of image quality. Recently, a novel compression framework leveraging colorization techniques has emerged. These methods, originally developed for infusing grayscale images with color, have found application in image compression, leading to colorization-based coding. Within this framework, the encoder plays a crucial role in automatically extracting representative pixels-referred to as color seeds-and transmitting them to the decoder. The decoder, utilizing colorization methods, reconstructs color information for the remaining pixels based on the transmitted data. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to image compression, wherein we decompose the compression task into grayscale image compression and colorization tasks. Unlike conventional colorization-based coding, our method focuses on the colorization process rather than the extraction of color seeds. Moreover, we employ the Denoising Diffusion Null-Space Model (DDNM) for colorization, ensuring high-quality color restoration and contributing to superior compression rates. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves higher-quality decompressed images compared to standard JPEG and JPEG2000 compression schemes, particularly in high compression rate scenarios.

  • Objective : This research is focused on understanding the current status of the Health Smart Card already in use in other advanced countries. This research will analyze the current status of the medical institutions Health Smart Card system adoption process and its effects, and provide a basis for future policy decisions for the effective adoption and diffusion of a Health Smart Card system, in the medical field, through the completed research and analysis. Method : This research surveys the domestic, and foreign, status of Health Smart Card usage. The research also presents up-to-date methodology for the evaluation of the effects of medical and health care technology. The research also conducts a survey of the domestic medical institutions that have implemented a Health Smart Card system, and then analyzes the results of the survey. Additionally, the research carried out a survey and analysis of medical institutions with no Health Smart Card system implemented, and considered the factors affecting the diffusion of Health Smart Card systems in considering an effective policy for the introduction and diffusion of such a system. Research Results : Through the study of the methodology of medical and health care information technology in advanced countries, the methodology for assessing Health Smart Card technology has been established, and focuses on 6 aspects. The study on the status of foreign implementation has shown a model for the Health Smart Card system. A survey was conducted on the current status of medical institutions with an implemented Health Smart Card system, and the survey results have been analyzed. Also, factors influencing the adoption of Health Smart Card systems have been analyzed through the survey on those medical institutions that have not implemented a Health Smart Card system. Conclusion : The government must provide institutional measures for sharing medical records by constructing an IT infrastructure at the national level to enable the adoption and diffusion of a Health Smart Card system. Such a network will make connections between medical institutions possible, thus making the diffusion of the Health Smart Card system nationwide. For the successful adoption and diffusion of a Health Smart Card system, a model system development, under a medical record sharing system, should be conducted. Additionally, a regional unit based model should be developed for the model project, as is done in advanced countries, along with the application of such results.

Finite Element Method (FEM) Study on Space Charge Effects in Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED)

  • In this paper, we present a finite element method (FEM) study on the space charge effects in organic light emitting diodes. The physical model covers all the key physical processes in OLEDs, namely charge injection, transport and recombination, exciton diffusion, transfer and decay as well as light coupling, and thin-film-optics. The exciton model includes generation, diffusion, and energy transfer as well as annihilation. We assumed that the light emission originates from oscillation which thus is embodied as exciton in a stack of multilayer. We discuss the accumulation of charges at internal interfaces and their signature in the transient response as well as the electric field distribution. We also report our investigation on the influence of the insertion of the emission layer (EML) in the bilayer structure.

지표면 특성을 고려한 부산지역의 건성침적속도 예측 (The Numerical Simulation of Dry Deposition Velocity Of O3 using Land-Use Information in the Busan Metropolitan City)

  • Land-use types should be included in air pollutant diffusion model because a complex mixture of various land-use patterns with computational grid can make errors in calculation of several parameters. However, the air pollutant diffusion model has generally been treated with a uniform component with land-use type in each mesh because of the complexity of the simulation. This study presents a numerical simulation of the horizontal distribution of $O_3$dry deposition velocity during summertime in Busan metropolitan city. The calculation of the meteorological field was conducted using the land cover data. Simulation has been performed by the following two scenarios : (1) one with current land cover data, and (2) the other with only land and sea for the surface characteristics. The results from each scenario reveals considerable differences on the meteorological fields and these differences can cause changes in the calculation values of $O_3$deposition velocity.

Numerical Modeling for Combustion and Soot Formation Processes in Turbulent Diffusion Flames

  • In order to investigate the soot formation and oxidation processes, we employed the two variable approach and its source terms representing soot nucleation, coagulation, surface growth and oxidation. For the simulation of the taxi-symmetric turbulent reacting flows, the pressure-velocity coupling is handled by the pressure based finite volume method. We also employed laminar flamelet model to calculate the thermo-chemical properties and the proper soot source terms from the information of detailed chemical kinetic model. The numerical and physical models used in this study successfully predict the essential features of the combustion processes and soot formation characteristics in the reacting flow field.

  • High unemployment rates repeatedly cause recurring social problems such as fewer employment opportunities and employment insecurity. Following this trend, various programs related to employment have been provided through various government and institutions. However, they have established overlapping policies and programs and there is no one stop gateway to find effective and efficient way to find relevant information. For this purpose, this study aims to provide employment and job search subject gateway development. The study has carried out case studies, literature reviews, and user survey. Based on this study, it suggested a linked metadata model to organize and link scattered information together, and a digital gateway operating diverse information services. It is expected to provide a basis to develop comprehensive information service model for employment.

한국형 국제국방산업협력제도 도입시 방산협력국가 수요확산 예측 연구 (Forecasting the Diffusion of Participating Countries with the Introduction of the "International Defense Industry Cooperation Program of Korea")

  • 본 연구에서는 한국 방산분야에서 정부분야 경쟁력 향상을 위하여 미국의 FMS 제도를 모델로 하여 한국형 G to G 방위산업협력을 위한 국제국방산업협력제도 도입 시, 국방산업협력국가 확산이 어떻게 이루어질 것인지를 Bass 모델을 통해 예측한다. 이를 위해 미국의 FMS에 참여한 국가 데이터를 기반으로 수요국가 확산을 설명할 수 있는 확산계수와 모방계수를 추정하였다. 또한 이 계수들에 대하여 미국과 한국의 정부분야 경쟁력 차이와 종합적인 방산 경쟁력 차이를 적용하여 한국의 상황을 고려한 확산 패턴을 예측하였고, 조기에 확산을 이룰 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 한국은 국제방산시장에서 모방구매자들에게 상대적인 우위를 점할 수 있을 것으로 보이며, 확산을 조기화하기 위해서는 Medium-High급 무기체계에서의 경쟁력을 High급까지 확장시켜야 하며, 미국의 FMS에서 정부가 주도하지 않는 절충교역 분야인 산업협력을 포함한 대안 제공을 강화하여야 한다.

  • Research relevant to the electronic commerce tends to either overestimate or underrate the role of Information and Communication Technology (lCT). There is both technological skepticism within the social science circles and technical optimism within the engineering and computing field. Each perspective seems to have a limitation in adequately explaining the phenomenon of electronic commerce diffusion. Therefore, this research attempts to explore major characteristics of Web-based shopping systems as enablers of new business, concerning both the technical and business aspects in contemporary electronic commerce settings. On this basis, this paper addresses a configuration model of WBSS on the harmonious perspective concerning both the technical and business issues. It is our hope that both technical perspective and business perspective for exploring WBSS's configuration model presented in this paper can be an initial step towards a more balanced debate of ICT role, for electronic commerce.

인지적 몰입이 개인의 기술 수용에 미치는 영향: MP3 플레이어에 대한 실증 연구 (The Effect of Cognitive Absorption on the Individual Intention of Technology Acceptance: An Empirical Study on the MP3 Player)

  • Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been widely used to predict user's behavior to accept the technology. Prior researches have been mainly focused on innovation constructs such as perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. However, very little research has been conducted to understand individual mental beliefs in technology acceptance and imitation influence. This study integrates Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Flow Theory (FT) and Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DIT). This paper indicates that imitation context, cognitive absorption (CA) based Flow theory and innovation context are the three important factors influencing user acceptance of information technologies. The proposed model has been tested among 232 users of MP3 players. Results showed that innovation context and cognitive absorption have positive influences on intention to use technology. Not all factors of the imitation context have direct effect on intention to use. However, we found that imitation context has positive influence on intention to use technology through cognitive absorption.

확산모형 분석도구: SNUDM (Analysis Program for Diffusion Model: SNUDM)

  • 이 논문에서는 지난 40여 년 동안 인지심리학에서 가장 중요한 모형 가운데 하나이며 근래에는 인지신경과학에서도 중요한 자리를 차지하고 있는 Ratcliff의 확산(diffusion)모형을 분석하는 도구 SNUDM을 소개한다. SNUDM은 확산과정을 Ratcliff & Tuerlinckx(2002)에 소개된 방식으로 단순 무작위걷기(random walk)를 묘사했다. 구체적으로, 모형이 생성하는 반응시간 분포는 주어진 파라미터 값들에서 작은 걸음으로 무작위걷기를 하여 일정 수준에 다다를 때까지 걸린 시간들로 이루어졌고, 모형의 파라미터 추정치는 단순도형(Simplex) 방식을 이용하여 실험 자료와 생성된 분포를 비교하기 위해 계산된 카이제곱값을 최소화하는 파라미터의 값을 사용한다. 사용의 간편함을 위해, 입력 파일은 반응시간의 분위수(quantile), 시행수와 기타 정보를 담은 파일로 간단하게 했고, 프로그램 작동에 필요한 피험자 수와 조건 수 등은 질문에 답을 하는 방식으로 입력하도록 했으며, 조건에 따라 비교할 파라미터와 그렇지 않고 고정할 파라미터도 미리 지정하도록 했다. 분석도구 SNUDM이 파라미터 값을 제대로 찾아내는지를 알아보기 위해 Ratcliff, Gomez, & McKoon(2004)의 실험1 자료를 써서 검토한 결과, 그들이 보고한 실험 조건들 사이에서 보인 상대적인 표집율의 크기에서 동일한 패턴을 얻었다. 또한 SNUDM으로 생성된 자료를 DMAT과 fast-dm의 자료와 비교해 보았을 때 SNUDM은 시행수가 적을 경우에는 경계 파라미터를 fast-dm과는 비슷한 값을 추정하였고 DMAT보다는 작은 값으로 추정했으나 시행수가 많은 경우에는 세 도구 모두 비슷하게 파라미터를 추정하는 것을 확인하였다.
