The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze informal knowledge of students who do not learn the conception of proportion and to identify how the informal knowledge can be used for teaching the conception of proportion in order to present an effective method of teaching the conception. For doing this, proportion was classified into direct and inverse proportion, and 'What are the informal knowledge of students?' were researched. The subjects of this study were 117 sixth-graders who did not have prior learning on direct and inverse proportion. A total eleven problems including seven for direct proportion and four for inverse proportion, all of them related to daily life. The result are as follows; Even though students didn't learn about proportion, they solve the problems of proportion using informal knowledge such as multiplicative reasoning, proportion reasoning, single-unit strategy etc. This result implies mathematics education emphasizes student's informal knowledge for improving their mathematical ability.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of organizational communication satisfaction of teacher librarians on the informational and educational service and to draw implications for improvement of the school libraries' educational role. According to the results of the analysis, teacher librarians have preferred informal communication by conversation and face-to-face talk with superiors or co-workers and horizontal communication during their performance. Characteristics of teacher librarians, such as career, gender and school levels, have influential effect on user education, libraryassisted instruction, reading and information literacy instruction. The more teacher librarians felt satisfaction of the informal communication, the more textbook-related reference lists are offered. Horizontal communication have a positive influence on information literacy instruction. However, teacher librarians should utilize cooperative statements, committees and councils and actively participate in those horizontal communication methods to share the vision and aims of school libraries with the larger school community. Teacher librarians also should put more efforts into developing their leadership role and marketing strategies in order to overcome the weaknesses of informal communication.

Based on the thinking that people can understand more clearly when the problem is related with their prior knowledge, the Purpose of this study was to analysis students' informal knowledge, which is constructed through their mathematical experience in the context of real-world situations. According to this purpose, the following research questions were. 1) What is the characteristics of students' informal knowledge about fraction before formal fraction instruction in school? 2) What is the difference of informal knowledge of fraction according to reasoning ability and grade. To investigate these questions, 18 children of first, second and third grade(6 children per each grade) in C elementary school were selected. Among the various concept of fraction, part-whole fraction, quotient fraction, ratio fraction and measure fraction were selected for the interview. I recorded the interview on digital camera, drew up a protocol about interview contents, and analyzed and discussed them after numbering and comment. The conclusions are as follows: First, students already constructed informal knowledge before they learned formal knowledge about fraction. Among students' informal knowledge they knew correct concepts based on formal knowledge, but they also have ideas that would lead to misconceptions. Second, the informal knowledge constructed by children were different according to grade. This is because the informal knowledge is influenced by various experience on learning and everyday life. And the students having higher reasoning ability represented higher levels of knowledge. Third, because children are using informal knowledge from everyday life to learn formal knowledge, we should use these informal knowledge to instruct more efficiently.

Conflict management within a police organization is one of the most significant areas from the organization management point of view. This study aims to explore procedural entrepreneurship of police mangers when they face difficulties in their workplaces. Adopting a case study strategy, this study examines real cases from three police agencies from Japan, the US, and South Korea. Interviewing police officers from theses different countries, six main themes are identified: (1) the pervasiveness of hierarchical authority, (2) procedural conflict, (3) organizational cultures, (4) the origin of their values and assumptions, (5) characteristics of the strategy, and (6) organizational learning. Research findings pointed out that there were more similarities than differences among the three cases, such as the pervasiveness of hierarchical authority, the significance of informal networks, and characteristics of informal networks. The main finding was that police managers used informal networks in order to overcome the procedural conflicts regardless of their nationality. All the participants relied on informal communications to raise the adaptability and survivability of their organizations. It was found that the Asian culture and American culture respectively permeated the three police agencies, supporting the role of informal networks in the formal organizations. This presents a paradox which well reflects the reality of organizations: informality within formality.

Due to advance in Internet technology, most tourists tend to search travel information in the Online Travel Communities(OTC). Given this new paradigm in terms of finding travel information, most of relevant studies in this area are still dealt with explaining tourists' behaviors regardless of the types of communications. Therefore, to overcome some limitations in previous studies, we attempt to examine the relationships between both formal and informal communications and tourists' behavioral changes in the OTC context. Specifically, we developed a research model by employing the PPM(push-pull-mooring) framework and tested it to understand why and how tourists' behaviors might be changed. Survey data collected from 323 online tourists were used to test the model the model using SEM(structural equation modeling). The implications of our empirical findings for both research and practice are discussed.

Recently, as various IP set-top boxes based on Android OS have been widely used in general households and public facilities, complaints about services and set-top boxes have continued to increase as much as other smart devices. In order to reduce this problem, the manufacturer performs the testing work before the product is commercialized. However, the testing can reduce potential defects in the product, but it can not prove that the product is free of defects. Therefore, the quality of the product can vary depending on how effective testing techniques are introduced. In this paper, we propose a new exploratory testing method that minimizes test case creation time and makes it easier to plan and execute test while simultaneously learning how to run the product under test. Using the first proposed method, the test time is reduced by about 16.7 hours and the defect detection rate is 25.4% higher than the formal specification-based testing method. Informally, the test time was shortened by about 4.7 hours and the defect detection rate was 13% higher than the informal experience-based testing method.
