  • Lee Yeung-Hi is one of the most influential journalist in the modern history of Korea. Nevertheless, the judgement about him has been parallelized by opposite sides. He is called 'the Master of ideology', while the other calls him 'the culprit of theorization'. This thesis deduced the contemporary meaning of person Lee Yeung-Hi in order to promote communication for both sides. I compared their logical arguments and pointed out the error they missed. Also, I clarified that the criticism and anticriticism for Lee Young-Hi in the fields of both journalism and academia have fallacies, such as the fallacy of straw man, and the fallacy of question-begging. I criticized their arguments through the view of 'struggling to seek truth', which is the core value of Lee Yeung-Hi's thought. The necessity of communication between advocators and it's critics is due to the condition of Korean Journalism. Korean Journalism does not have much space to accept Lee Young-Hi in only one side. Paradoxically, the contemporary meaning of the truth that Journalist Lee Young-Hi had sought is profound and deep because of the condition where Korean Journalism is being dominated by political parallelism.

  • Objectives : As a descriptive study, the present research investigated the knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding medical waste and factors influencing these variables, based on nurses working at university hospitals in Busan and Gyoengnam provinces. Methods : The 508 participants were selected from five university hospitals in Busan and Kyongnam provinces and consented to participate in the study between June 1 and July 15, 2016. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 23.0 based on descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Person correlation coefficients, and hierarchical analysis. Results : The average scores for knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding medical waste among the participants were 15.88 (1.71), 4.38 (0.45), and 4.24 (0.40) respectively. When the scores for the knowledge and attitude related to medical waste were higher, the score for practice (r=.500, p<.001) increased, and the most influential factor on practice regarding medical waste was attitude toward medical waste (${\beta}=.45$, p<.001). Conclusions : Thus, to reinforce a positive attitude toward medical waste management, continuous education and a systematic approach to minimize health and environmental hazards are needed.

  • The purpose of this research was conducted to formative processes and to interpret premarital adult's sexuality meaning. The interviews have been executed based upon ethnography approach and method of interview in depth within the framework of the Weis's sexual script theory (1998) and parent-children relation. The interview in depth has been conducted with unmarried 7 males and 8 females inclusive of college students, total 15 persons who were born 1974-1980 and living in Seoul and nearby suburban areas. A period of interviews were carried out from September until December 2003. Each interview was executed for 2 to 4 hours apiece, and each person had 2 to 4 interviews during the period. The result of analysis of the sexuality scripts theory from three different views indicates that the female informants appeared to rationalize the fact that traditional concept of the chastity as defined by the socio-cultural level has been changed. It also indicated that there were very few sex educations in the society at large except for the public medias including the Internet. The interrelation level indicates that positive interaction with the opposite sex has affected them in the course of their building up desirable personal relationship in the society and uplifting their sense of self-esteem. The internal level of sexuality, it is much dependent on the extent of individual inner recognition of sexuality. The parent-children relation view of sexuality, the most influential factor for their communication on sexuality lies in the extent of their realization on how positively their parents recognize their children.

The items used were Reliability, Categorical Regression, and Frequency, using SPSS 11.5. The results were as follows: First, as a result of analyzing the influence of international competitiveness in Korean apparel industry, the firm's strategy, structure, and rivalry was the most influential factor. Others were related and supporting industries, government, chance, demand conditions, and factor conditions. Also, the elements that affect Korean international competitiveness were listed as the level of price competition in foreign markets, the level of labor cost, export marketing capacity, and exchange fluctuation. The most important element to improve the international competitiveness of the Korean apparel industry was a demand growth rate of the overseas markets(Demand Conditions), followed by the level of the labor costs(Factor Conditions), the capability of internationalization(Firm Strategy, Structure, and Rivalry), the change of currency(Chance), the quality and management of products(Demand Conditions), the capability of planning products(Firm Strategy, Structure, and Rivalry), free trade from 2005(Chance), and global sourcing strategy(Firm Strategy, Structure, and Rivalry). Korea's main rival country in apparel related and supporting industry factors is China. However, Korea has a higher level of technology development, quality, and price level than China.

  • Research on children should be perferably made in reference with the past thinking if it is to be affirmed by the present and to predict the future. In this respect, Buddhism, which is one of the major original thinkings in the Orient as well as the most influential religion upon Koreans daily lives and attitudes, deserves to be researched in the light of education of children. In this thesis, I have made a trial to delve into the original Buddhistic scriptures to find out Buddha's outlook on home children and arrived at the following conclusions: 1. Concerning human development stages, Buddha regarded the starting point of human life from fertilization instead of birth, even at that ancient time, and the fetal life was devided into 4, 5, or 8 stages. 2. In spite of the numerous scriptures by Buddha, very little is written about children, and even these teaching did not regard the child as an independent entity. In addition, since Buddha was a person of superior enlightenment, he did not regard the age of human beings as of great importance. 3. On the relationship between parents and children, Buddha warned the extra ordinary attachment of parents toward children, because such attachment would be an obstacle in the search of truth. This idea was originated from his thought that the relationship between parents and children was not a single fixed one but of unlimited variation through numerous life times of reincarnation. This idea gives some illumination upon the problems of today's education where parent's exclusive attachment to their children and over-protection are hindrance for successful education. 4. Buddha put emphasis on parents' social duty, by which he meant that parents should care and accept not only their biological children but all children and all living things as if they were their own children. 5. Regardeding the children's role to their parents, Buddha taught that children should respect and support their parents under any condition. Buddha also emphasized that true filial piety was to help parents to improve their religious status by helping them attain the truth, morality, and wisdom. It is my intention to investigate Buddha's View tin children of entering pristhood.

  • The purpose of this study was to construct and validate a middle - aged exercise adherence model. The model was designed based on self - determination theory. Participants were 215 middle-aged men and women aged 40-60 who had been exercising for more than six months. Data was collected from four big cities of Seoul, Busan, Gwangju and Daejeon in Korea, using a questionnaire consisting of basic psychological needs, intrinsic motivation, social support, and exercise adherence. Data were analyzed with SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 20.0. Social support and exercise adherence of the questionnaire were partially revised and verified by confirmatory factor analysis. The results of the study were as follows. The model's fit indices: GFI = .938, AGFI) = .915, NFI = .912, CFI = .941, and RMSEA = 0.041. The model satisfied the model fit of the structural model equation. This study model based on self - determination theory was confirmed that basic psychological needs, intrinsic motivation, and social support were important factors for the middle - aged's exercise adherence. Basic psychological need and intrinsic motivation had a direct influence on the adherence of exercise, and social support indirectly influenced the exercise adherence through intrinsic motivation. Both basic psychological needs and social support directly affected internal motivation. The most influential factor in the middle - aged's exercise adherence was intrinsic motivation. In conclusion, it was found that intrinsic motivation such as interest and fun is important for the middle - aged to continue the exercise. Also, the basic psychological needs were important for middle aged's exercise adherence. The results of this study will provide basic data for restoring or maintaining health by continuing exercise. Strategies that enhance intrinsic motivation are needed when a chronic ill person needs to continue long-term exercising.
