I constructed the 2003 Korean 'social accounting matrix'(SAM) to analyze the multipliers of total demand for each economic activity. I find that the relative magnitude of the influence of the welfare policy to the national economy measured by input-output production multipliers tends to be underestimated compared to SAM multipliers. This is because the total demand multipliers of SAM include the private sector effects, which is not considered in the input-output model. The result also support that income inflows in public service areas including education, health and social work, generate gains in the relative income of households.
This study compared FTIR with XRD method for the analysis of quartz by % recovery, coefficient of variation (CV) and influence of the interference. the results were as the following. 1. In FTIR method, the coefficient of determination ($r^2$) was 0.9998 in a calibration curve of $695\;cm^{-1}$, and the limit of detection was $4.9{\mu}g/sample$. 2. The highest recovery was $799\;cm^{-1}$ (98.2%). 3. The CVpooled of the FTIR method was approximately 10% in three wave numbers. 4. The analysis of qualitative and quantitative for quartz is difficult with mixed cristobalite and iron oxide. 5. In XRD method with rotating sample holder and LynxEye detector, the coefficient of determination was 0.9996 in a calibration curve, and the limit of detection was $5.9{\mu}g/sample$. 6. The recovery and CV pooled were 104.3%, and 11 %, respectively. 7. In muffle furnace ashing, the quartz weight decreased to 34% when the maximum weight of the iron oxide was more than eight times. In conclusion, the accuracy (% recovery) and precision (CV) of FTIR and XRD method for analyzing $\alpha$-quartz were similar. FTIR method was a disadvantage for sample matrix because it indicates possibility of interference. However, XRD method distinguished specific crystalline forms of silica, and the majority of silicate minerals. In addition, XRD method recommend filter dissolution to pretreatment method.
Tendon reinforced cemented soil is applied extensively in foundation stabilisation and improvement, especially in areas with soft clay. To solve the deterioration problem led by steel corrosion, the glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) tendon is introduced to substitute the traditional steel tendon. The interface bond strength between the cemented soil matrix and GFRP tendon demonstrates the outstanding mechanical property of this composite. However, the lack of research between the influence factors and bond strength hinders the application. To evaluate these factors, back propagation neural network (BPNN) is applied to predict the relationship between them and bond strength. Since adjusting BPNN parameters is time-consuming and laborious, the particle swarm optimisation (PSO) algorithm is proposed. This study evaluated the influence of water content, cement content, curing time, and slip distance on the bond performance of GFRP tendon-reinforced cemented soils (GTRCS). The results showed that the ultimate and residual bond strengths were both in positive proportion to cement content and negative to water content. The sample cured for 28 days with 30% water content and 50% cement content had the largest ultimate strength (3879.40 kPa). The PSO-BPNN model was tuned with 3 neurons in the input layer, 10 in the hidden layer, and 1 in the output layer. It showed outstanding performance on a large database comprising 405 testing results. Its higher correlation coefficient (0.908) and lower root-mean-square error (239.11 kPa) were obtained compared to multiple linear regression (MLR) and logistic regression (LR). In addition, a sensitivity analysis was applied to acquire the ranking of the input variables. The results illustrated that the cement content performed the strongest influence on bond strength, followed by the water content and slip displacement.

Although discontinuously reinforced metal matrix composite(MMC) is one of the most promising materials for applications of aerospace, automotive industries, the thermal residual stresses developed in the MMC due to the mismatch in coefficients of thermal expansion between the matrix and the fiber under a temperature change has been pointed out as one of the serious problem in practical applications. There are very limited nondestructive techniques to measure the residual stress of composite materials. However, many difficulties have been reported in their applications. Therefore it is important to establish analytical model to evaluate the thermal residual stress of MMC for practical engineering application. In this study, an elastic model is developed to predict the average thermal residual stresses in the matrix and fiber of a misoriented short fiber composite. The thermal residual stresses are induced by the mismatch in the coefficient of the thermal expansion of the matrix and fiber when the composite is subjected to a uniform temperature change. The model considers two-dimensional in-plane fiber misorientation. The analytical formulation of the model is based on Eshelby's equivalent inclusion method and is unique in that it is able to account for interactions among fibers. This model is more general than past models to investigate the effect of parameters which might influence thermal residual stress in composites. The present model is to investigate the effects of fiber volume fraction, distribution type, distribution cut-off angle, and aspect ratio on thermal residual stress for in-plane fiber misorientation. Fiber volume fraction, aspect ratio, and distribution cut-off angle are shown to have more significant effects on the magnitude of the thermal residual stresses than fiber distribution type for in-plane misorientation.

A hypothetical repository was assumed to be located at the KURT (KAERI Underground Research Tunnel) site, and the travel times of radionuclides released from three source positions were calculated. The groundwater flow around the KURT site was simulated and the groundwater pathways from the hypothetical source positions to the shallow groundwater were identified. Of the pathways, three pathways were selected because they had highly water-conductive features. The transport travel times of the radionuclides were calculated by a TDRW (Time-Domain Random Walk) method. Diffusion and sorption mechanisms in a host rock matrix as well as advection-dispersion mechanisms under the KURT field condition were considered. To reflect the radioactive decay, four decay chains with the radionuclides included in the high-level radioactive wastes were selected. From the simulation results, the half-life and distribution coefficient in the rock matrix, as well as multiple pathways, had an influence on the mass flux of the radionuclides. For enhancing the reliability of safety assessment, this reveals that identifying the history of the radionuclides contained in the high-level wastes and investigating the sorption processes between the radionuclides and the rock matrix in the field condition are preferentially necessary.

A 6-component load cell (Fx=Fy=Fz=10Kg, Mx=My=Mz=1Kg-m)) is designed and manufactured. Basic mechanism of the operation is measuring strains coresponding to pure bending stresses, at certain portions of the device, due to forces and moments given. Wheastone bridge is used for the strain measurement and the amplified output signals from the bridge are decoupled to give the real forces and moments by using the influence coefficient matrix obtained through the calibration. Based on the result of the calibration test, the developed load cell is believed to be quite accurate and reliable. We also believe that the design experience provided us 'With essential information for future design of various types of conventional or object oriented force measuring device.
The crystallization behavior of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) in the presence and absence of polypyrrole nanoparticles (PPy NPs) was investigated in terms of the heterogeneous nucleation effect of PPy NPs using FTIR, X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter and polarized optical microscope analysis. PPy NPs were prepared by dispersion polymerization method stabilized by PVA in aqueous solution. A polymer nanocomposite with uniform dispersity could be readily obtained due to the enhanced compatibility between the filler and matrix. Compared with the PPy NP-absent PVA, the PPy NP/PVA nanocomposite exhibited an enhanced degree of crystallinity. The degree of crystallinity increased up to 17% at the PPy NP concentration of 1 wt%, compared to the pristine PVA. The PPy NP acted as an effective nucleating agent during the crystallization process, thereby enhancing the degree and rate of crystallization. The kinetics study of the crystallization also revealed the decreased value of the Avrami coefficient in the case of the PPy NP/PVA nanocomposite.

This paper focuses on the estimation of local ice loads exerted from ship-ice interaction processes. The Korean IBRV ARAON was used to perform field ice trials during her 2015 Arctic voyage. During ARAON's general ice transit, a total of 72 channels of data from both strain gauges on the inner hull plates and those installed on the transverse frames of the ARAON's bow section structures were analyzed to calculate the local ice loads. The local ice loads estimated from the analysis of the shear strain data measured on the side frames were compared to those from the hull plate pressures.
The state transition matrix are obtained by solving state equations in terms of Laplace inverse transformation and Cayley-Hamilton theorem, and an establishment of a precise discrete-iterative mapping of the voltage-fed buck-boost converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode is made. On the basis of the mapping, the converter bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov exponent diagrams with the input voltage, the resistance, the inductance and the capacitance as the bifurcation parameters are obtained, and the effect of the parameters on the system stability is deeply studied. The results obtained show that they have a great influence on the stability of the system, and the general trend is that the increase of either the voltage-fed coefficient, input voltage or the load resistance, or the decrease of the filtering inductance, capacitance will make the system stability become poorer, and that all the parameters have a critical value, and when they are greater or less than the values, the system will go through stable 1T orbits, stable 2T orbits, 4T orbits, 8T orbits and eventually approaches chaos.

This paper describes the general formulation for the in-plane flexural free vibration analysis of two layered structure by the transfer influence coefficient method. The structure is regared as a distributed mass system with lumped mass and inertia moments, massless linear and rotational springs, and joints elements of releases and rolls at which the displacements are discontinuous in each layer. The results of the simple numerical examples on a personal computer demonstrate the validity of the present method, that is, the numerical high accuracy, the high speed, the flexibility for programming of the present algorithm, compared with the transfer matrix method.
