This study focuses on the increasing supply and consumption of affair dramas on TV with the theme of unconventional 'infidelity', therefore, is an empirical study that reveals factors related to the problem consciousness of married men and women about infidelity dramas that can affect the sexual socialization of married men and women. This study investigates the effect of married men and women's right to sexual self-determination between couples, personal psychological characteristics (emotional maturity, emotional alienation, self-perception), surrounding environmental characteristics (prevalence of extramarital relationships), and demographic background (gender, age, educational background, economic level) on 'the presence or absence of critical consciousness of infidelity dramas'. For the data of this study, an online survey is conducted on married men and women(614 people), and binary logistic analysis is conducted using SPSS. As a result of this analysis, first, 46% of married men and women have a relatively good level of critical awareness of affair dramas, and overall, the level of critical thinking of married men and women about the infidelity dramas is rather low. Second, there is no significant difference between genders in the perception of problems such as 'excessive beautification of infidelity', 'incitement of infidelity' and 'damage of family values', however, married women are more critical than married men regarding 'explicit sexual description', indicating differences according to gender characteristics. Third, for married men, the level of 'self-perception' and 'marital sexual self-determination right' have a significant effect on the critical mind with infidelity dramas. In the case of married women, it is found that 'the right to sexual self-determination' between married couples and 'emotional alienation' have a significant effect on 'the presence or absence of critical consciousness of infidelity dramas'.

The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness and experience of extramarital relations across individual and familial variables of married men and women. Data for this study were 600 married men and women who were recruited the respondents through internet site. Results of this study were as follows; 1) Most of married men and women were regarded extramarital relations types(emotional connections, short-term relationship such as prostitution, sexual intercourse except a prostitution, one-night stands, physical connections, letter chatting with multimedia, video chatting with multimedia), By gender men had more permissiveness attitudes about extramarital relations type than women, 2) There were significant differences in the awareness and experience of extramarital relations types across variables(sex, age, education level, income, occupation, religion, marriage duration). 3) Married men reported that they experience(emotional connections, sexual intercourse, physical connections, letter chatting with multimedia, video chatting with multimedia, infidelity ideation, infidelity attempts) more extramarrital relations types than married women. There were significant differences in the experience extramarital relations types across variables.

This study empirically examined the effect of married women's self-awareness on the acceptance of extra-marital relationships and the mediating effects of individuals' criticism of television's drama about infidelity. The data was obtained by conducting a survey of married women (304 persons) and was analyzed based on the Structural Equal Model (SEM). The notable findings are as follows. First, the respondents are generally less receptive to extramarital relationships. Of the total respondents, 46.7% do not accept extramarital relations. 43.8% of the respondents showed an unclear position on extra-marital relationships, and about 10% of respondents showed an accepting position on extramarital affairs. This suggests that extramarital relationships can emerge as a real issue that is important for married women. Second, self-awareness does not directly affect married women's acceptance of extramarital affairs, however, 'self-awareness' proved to have a significant effect on 'acceptance to extramarital relationships' by using 'criticism' as a full mediation effect for affair-themed TV dramas. The effects of critical thinking and the judgment of married women on the content of TV dramas containing adultery has been confirmed to be a very important aspect of married women's understanding of extramarital relationships. Some practical and political implications are discussed based on this study's findings.

This paper argues that (1) word-for-word literary translation is not possible; all it does is achieve what Chukovsky characterized as 'imprecise precision' (1984:47), (2) contra to Nida (1969) and others, translation does not just mean translating meaning, and (3) therefore, a translator must negotiate an uneasy but inevitable compromise between accuracy and elegance. To make the translated passage just as pleasing, moving, and cathartic as the original passage as much as possible, a great deal of literary skill is required on the part of the translator. The iniquity of translators is not so much infidelity as infertility to produce an offspring worthy of an heir to the original writer. Translators are not traitors; they are traders, or literary merchants, who trade one form of linguistic unit for another, often meaning for form, or sense for sound, but sometimes form for meaning. A translator then is not a man of treason but is a tradesman.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the effects of the VDSPA(Vulnerability to the Different Sex's Physical Attraction) on IOM(the intention of open marriages), the mediating effect of the SAEMR(Self Acceptance of Extra-Marital Relationship) and the moderating effect of gender. This is an empirical research based on data analysis obtained by surveying 655. The notable findings are as follow: First, respondents' perceptions of their own extramarital affairs(M=2.284) and open marriages(M=2.175) are generally negative, but women were more negative than men. Second, both men and women were vulnerable to the physical attraction of the opposite sex(M=3.569), especially men than women. Third, the more vulnerable to the physical attraction of the opposite sex, the more receptive to their own infidelity. The more receptive to their own extramarital affair, the more clear their intention to open marriage. Lastly, in the case of women, it is confirmed that the vulnerability of the physical attraction of the opposite sex has a significant effect on the intention of an open marriage, with the acceptability of the one's own infidelity as a mediator. In the case of men, there is no mediating effect of accepting their own extramarital affairs, which proved to be a moderating effect by gender. Unlike men, in the case of women, it is concluded that 'accepting their own extramaritality is a critical factor that directly or indirectly has a significant effects on their intention to open marriage.

Hwa-Byung(HB) has been categorized as a Korean culture-bound syndrome that is prevalent in married women of low socioeconomic status. Purpose: The Purpose of the study was to search for the essence of HB and a caring-healing process of HB. Then the research result discusses whether the Transpersonal Caring-Healing Model has been congruent with it. Method: Case examples resulted from in-depth telephone counseling over a period of time at the Women's Hot Line with a client who is a housewife with HB. The counseling content was analyzed through Giorgi's method of descriptive phenomenology. Result: The core meaning of the essence of HB was 'injustice'; and essential themes were 'lack of reciprocity', 'infidelity' 'suppressed aggression and powerlessness' and 'need for recognition'. The core meaning of the essence of the caring-healing process was 'caring-healing experience(maintaining a trust relationship)'; and essential themes were 'active listening', 'empathy' and 'forming a therapeutic relationship'. According to Watson, 'active listening', 'empathy' and 'forming a therapeutic relationship' were identified as intentionality, intersubjectivity and transpersonal. Conclusion: Transpersonal caring can release inner power and strength and help the person to gain a sense of inner harmony. Transpersonal caring is as important to healing as are conventional treatment approaches and even more powerful in the long run.

This study sought to find a nursing intervention tool for enhancing elderly women's lives by investigating the causes and the meaning of their grief. Method: This research was derived from a phenomenological tool such as qualitative research design. The data collection took place from December of 2000 until April of 2001 Through systematic interviews and participatory observations of five elderly women attending C welfare center located in downtown Seoul the data was collected. Each interview lasted an hour and a half and was arranged five times. The analysis of this research was conducted using the Giorgi method. Results: \circled1 There was obvious physical and physiological decline caused by aging old; as well as there being spouse health problems, additional physical suffering, signs of senility, and insomnia, \circled2 Further grief was imposed by unpleasant memories of the spouse; infidelity, incapability, and even disregard of her own well-being, \circled3 Then there was pity for children; unfaithful children, uncertain futures of the children, and early death of a child, \circled4 Also, regrettable fate, painful daily acttrities, unreliable factors, bad circumstances, and feelings emptiness were reported, \circled5 Finally, anxiety for the future; ac sense of despair, loneliness, economic hardship, and the fear of imminent death increased grief levels. Conclusion: A variety of programs and social meetings for the elderly to overcome their physiological or psychological crisis should be substantially developed and supported by the government. In order to implement the social welfare for the elderly women, special consideration whether on the governmental level or the personal level, should be devoted to the elderly who live without any financial support or social concern.

Some of Chekhov's short stories strongly depicted 'women' physical desire and the sins of the flesh. Chekhov created his own eroticism in life as it is through the stories. The psychiatric interview is not a random or arbitrary meeting between doctor and patient. It is a systematic attempt to understand the relationship of psychopathology to emotional conflicts in patient, and interviewing is an in rather than a science, a skill that can be acquired but probably not taught. The faculty of the Seoul National University Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, have been providing 12 sessions of seminar on Psychiatric Interview and Psychopathology every year for the first year residents for the past 15 years. The authors presented three cases materials with their understandings of psychopathology and psychodynamics, each of which the authors had performed live interviews for 50 minutes in front of the residents. Those are a young male with conversion disorder whose chief complaints was motor aphasia, a young college girl with paranoid schizophrenia whose chief complaints were persecutory and erotic delusions with auditory hallucination, and a climacteric female in delusional disorder who had a delusion of infidelity. The most frequent questions the residents raised after the presentations were on the significances of the first interview, danger of making the diagnoses with short interviews, and methodology of questionings and not-questionings. In reply the authors discussed the importance of understandings of psychopathology and psychodynamics, the flexibility of the techniques of interviewing, and priority-related matters in which the understanding of psychodynamics proceed to the diagnoses.

The horro movie which was released in 2003, was a box office hit drawing audiences totaling 3,140,000 people. Then, there were partial opinions that it was difficult to understand the content of the movie. However, it was most favorably received in the horror movies which were released before and after 2003. The 4 main characters in the movie are a family. The family conflicts begin as the dad has an affair. Muhyeon(the dad)'s infidelity leads his wife to kill herself. The suicide of the wife and mom again leads Suyeon(the younger sister) to be dead. At this moment, Suyeon's death is related to Eunju(the step mom). Sumi(the older sister) is deeply hurt by the fact that Eunju left her younger sister's death after she was dead. But at the same time, she realizes that she is also related to Eunju's act. And she felt guilty about her younger sister's death. Eunju was also hurt by Sumi's biting remarks. However, she feels guilty about the fact that she made Suyeon be dead. Director Jiun Kim said in the interview when it was released, "this movie is about hurts and guilt among families." These hurts and guilt are expressed by horror images that imagination and reality are mixed. Hurts are expressed by virtual images and guilt is done by real images. This paper presented still pictures which explain the virtual and real images and examined what hurts and guilt mean. And it described the symbolic meanings of three media which cause conflicts among main characters.
