Since ancient times, ginseng has been cultivated in Korea, and related cultures are also rich. However, the domestic ginseng industry is currently facing many crises. As a source of ginseng, Korea needs to come up with a strategy to cope with the crisis of the ginseng industry and implement it efficiently and effectively using limited resources. This study used the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to analyze the priority of policies so that ginseng policies can be effectively implemented. The survey was conducted by dividing into two groups of experts, 'policy managers' and 'field experts'. As a result of the study, policy managers seem to believe that the consumption of ginseng is important for the development of the ginseng industry. On the other hand, the field expert group believes that the government should take the initiative to increase the supply capacity of the ginseng industry. Through this study, it will be possible to help in determining the importance of policy, recognizing that the viewpoints of policy can be different for the ginseng industry to develop.

Purpose - This study proposes the impact of the US and Korean economic policy uncertainty on macroeconomy, and its effect on Korea. The economic policy uncertainty index of the US and Korea is used to represent the economic policy uncertainty on Korean economy. Research design, data, and methodology - In this paper, we collect the eight variables to find out the interrelationship among the US and Korean economic policy uncertainty index of the US and macroeconomic indicators during 1990 to 2016, and use Vector Error Correction Model. Result - The distribution industry stock index in Korea is influenced by the economic policy uncertainty index of the US rather than of Korea. All variables are related negatively to the economic policy uncertainty index of the US and Korea from Vector Error Correction Model. This study shows that the economic policy uncertainty index of the US and Korea has the dynamic relationships on the Korean economy. Conclusions - A higher economic policy uncertainty shows a greater economy recession of a country. Finally, the economic policy uncertainty of the Korea has an intensive impact on Korea economy. Particularly, the economic policy uncertainty of the US has a strong impact on distribution industry stock market in Korea.

The New IT industry based on Brain Science, a new industry combined with brain science and IT, will develop new IT services based on Brain Science. And this industry will become the new growth engine industry. This study examines the vision/strategies of policy for the New IT Convergence Industry based on Brain Science. Therefore this article's purposes are below; first, structuring the ecosystem for New IT industry based on Brain Science, second, classifying the service types of this industry, and last, suggesting of promotion policy for this industry.

The paper analyzes the impact of EC and NAFTA integration upon Korea and other 3rd countries and studies policies how to react against them particularly in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 2 introduces the contents of each step and process of EC integration in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 3 analyzes the contents of integration and cooperation of NAFTA in the field of aviation and tourism industry. Chapter 4 studies the regulation or deregulation policy of EC and NAFTA toward the industry of non-EC and non-NAFTA area. Chapter 5 surveys and analyzes about the policies and strategies of Japan, ASEAN and the 3rd countries. Finally, Chapter 6 analyzes the impact on Korean aviation and tourism industry and proposes some suggestions on the future policy of Korea independently or in association with the neighboring countries such as Japan and China against the integration of EC and NAFTA.

The marine biotechnology industry is very significant as compared to other industries as one of the driving forces for economic growth in the next generation in Korea. However, the marine biotechnology market has been considered as a component of the biotechnology industry market which made difficult for creating separate research areas in relation to the scope of the relevant industry market as well as making it difficult to establish its own R&D policy strategies. Accordingly, this study was executed to estimate the future long-term market value of the marine biotechnology within the limit of industrial field and to verify the importance of national R&D investment in marine biotechnology on the basis of estimations within the industrial perspective. To this end, we classified the marine biotechnology industry into the four sub-sectors and estimated the domestic and global industrial market in 2010 and 2024. According to the results, the domestic and global market of the marine biotechnology industry will see a remarkable growth by 2024. In particular, the bio-energy, pharmaceutical and functional foods industry markets will achieve astonishing advances. On the basis of the analysis results, Korea has to establish more progressive and aggressive R&D investment strategies to strengthen national competitiveness through the marine biotechnology industry.

Previous Korean total diet studies (KTDSs) have estimated dietary exposure to toxic chemicals based on 110-120 representative foods selected from over 500 foods appeared in the Korea National Health & Nutrition Examination Surveys (KNHANES), which would result in a possible underestimation. In order to find measures for a closer-to-real estimate of dietary exposure to heavy metals, this study examined the feasibility of mapping foods to the representative foods in the KTDS by comparing estimates. In mapping, those foods not analyzed in the 2009 KTDS (443 out of 559 foods appeared in the 2007 KNHANES) were mapped to the 114 representative foods used in the 2009 KTDS based on the closeness in regards to biological systematics and morphological similarity. Dietary exposures to total mercury and lead were re-estimated using the content of total mercury and lead in 114 foods analyzed in the 2009 KTDS, food intake, and individual's own body weight for respondents in the 2007 KNHANES instead of mean body weight of Koreans used in the 2009 KTDS. The re-estimates of exposure with mapping were approximately 50% higher than the original estimates reported in the 2009 KTDS. In addition, mapping enabled the comparison of percentile distribution of the exposure among populations of different age groups. In conclusion, estimates via mapping resulted in a more comprehensive estimation of dietary exposure to heavy metals present in foods that Koreans consume.

The Yoon Suk Yeol administration is promoting the "Global Leap of the Biohealth Industry" as one of its 120 key national policies. Recently, the administration has been showing its commitment by establishing various strategies and presenting blueprints for policy implementation. However, the results felt on the ground are still not sufficient. The biohealth industry is a difficult field to generate policy effects because the related regulations are intricately intertwined and the diverse administrative tasks are scattered in various government departments, where inter-departmental interests differ. To solve this problem, an innovative governance system should be established. In order for the government's recent approach to establish a government-wide control tower to be effective, it should demonstrate a proactive policy commitment and be given practical power to coordinate the interests between departments.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the current situation and problems of the existing government support policy and 6th industry. In order to solve these problems and to create innovative values and welfare for farming and fishing villages in the future, we suggest implications for policy and support of 6th industry and propose appropriate government policy support. Methods: As a research method, we analyzed the relative importance and urgency of each item based on problems, implications, and suggestions about policy and support of 6th industry. Results: The results of this study were based on the relative basis of potential factors for each item, and prioritized items were selected and strategies for each category were derived. Conclusion: Further research is needed on specific measures and detailed procedures to ensure that policies and support are practically applied to items of relatively high importance and urgency and high priority.

This study proposes the "Smart Learning" as a next generation for e-Learning, and focuses on developing policy for smart learning industry. Especially, this study's purpose is proposing a political agenda for smart learning industry as a knowledge-based industry. This study process for the realization of this purpose is belows: first, analyzing status of industry and policy in decades, second, finding problems and solutions, and finally, proposing the core subjects focused on practical value. And this study also focuses on the development of new policy suitable characteristics of the smart learning.
