  • The basic principle of the product manufacturing technology using the 3D printing technique materializes the material including the high molecular substance or plastic and metallic dust, and etc. the product into the laminate additive manufacturing according to the design diagram gradually. It is applied to the various industrial field including the field of food division, field of home appliances, field of medicine, field of mechanical department and construction, etc.. The global development case of 3D printing technique is the next. This study described global technology and market trends. Afterward, 3D printing technique manages the important role when it exceeds the product manufacturing view just and is grafted with the various technology including the biotechnology, nanotechnology, and etc. and it improves the quality of the human life.

  • The world's first 5G commercial service started in Korea in April 2019. This makes us proud of our status as an ICT powerhouse, and of the domestic optical network industry ecosystem that has served as a lever to make this significant leap forward in technological and industrial competitiveness. Above all, Japan's trade regulations on core parts and the COVID-19 pandemic have led to new changes across cultures, societies, and economies, and 5G networks have become important. The relevant technology for core material parts is a major concern not only of a few industries, but an entire section of society in terms of national competitiveness. In this article, we discuss the role of industries through the analysis of prospects of optical component technology with regard to the changes in the economic and social paradigm caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Japan's export regulations.

  • Electronic packaging technology is a technology that easily connects devices to the outside. The fourth industrial revolution is thought to be possible with the advancement of certain devices. The advancement of these devices must be accompanied by innovations in electronic packaging that connects the devices to the outside world, allowing their performances to be implemented at the system level. In this paper, the development trends of 2.5D/3D technology, heterogeneous integration technology, ultrafine interconnection technology, and heat dissipation technology will be examined, and the development direction of these technologies will be discussed.

  • This article examines the technical trends of recent logistics and delivery robots. Since the commencement of the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution, logistics robots and delivery robots have gained considerable attention from the public and the market owing to advances in artificial intelligence and information and communication technology. This article reviews logistics and delivery robots from the perspectives of the market and academia. In addition, we summarize difficulties that they currently face and enumerate further work for their success in the market.

  • As the COVID-19 pandemic crisis left developing countries with economic setbacks, it is high time to highlight that innovative technologies lead the digital economy. The big powers including the United States and China are already implementing industrial policies that involve large-scale fiscal expenditures to secure the lives and safety of their people. To prepare for the future up to 2025, this paper reflects opinions of industry-academia-research experts regarding changes in the external environment and industry trends. By reflecting results of focus group interviews and changes in the external environment and industry trends, a new high-level 5X strategy (Digital Transformation, Energy Transformation, Bio Health Transformation, Supply Chain Transformation, and Research Transformation) to solve national tasks required for the existing ten policy demand fields and ten agenda during lower-level policy implementation stages were derived.

  • This paper discusses recent development trends of fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) in space application. Fiber optic gyroscope utilizes Sagnac effect to measure the angular rate of a rotating object in space. Having a rather short development history compared to ring laser gyroscope (RLG), the fiber optic gyroscope, owing to the emerging technologies in fiber optic society and the digital signal processing technique, reveals itself as a noteworthy replacement of the ring laser gyroscope in the space mission. This paper summarizes the current trends of fiber optic gyroscope based on the actual products commercialized in the market over the last decades, while presenting the future development trends of the fiber optic gyroscope in the space exploration.

An Analysis of the Research Methodologies and Techniques in the Industrial Engineering Using Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 이용한 산업공학 연구기법의 분석)

  • We survey 3,857 journal articles published on the four domestic academic journals in the industrial engineering field during 1975~2012. Titles, abstracts, and keywords of the papers are searched by means of text mining technique to draw the information on the methodologies and techniques adopted in the papers, and then we aggregate and merge similar ones to obtain final 38 representative methodologies and techniques. Trends of these methodologies and techniques are studied by analyzing frequencies, clustering, and finding association rules among them. Results of the paper can shed a light to choose tools in the future education and research in the industrial engineering related area.
