Combustion noise involved with chemical heat release and turbulent process in turbopropulsion systems, gasturbine, industrial furnaces and internal engines is indeed noisy. The experimental study reported in this paper is made to identify a dominant combustion noise in jet flames. Gaseous propane and kerosene fuel have been used with air as the oxidizer in a different jet combustion systems. Combustion and aerodynamic noise are studied through far field sound pressure measurements in an anechoic chamber. And also mean temperature and velocities and turbulent intensities of both isothermal and reacting flow fields were measured. It is shown that axial mean velocity of reacting flow fields is higher about 1 to 3m/sec than that of cold flow in a gaseous combustor. As the gaseous fuel flow rate increases, the acoustic power increases. But the sound pressure level for the spray flame decreases with increasing equivalence ratio. The influence of temperature in the combustion fields due to chemical heat release has been observed to be a dominant noise source in the spray flame. The spectra of combustion noise in gaseous propane and kerosene jet flame show a predominantly low frequency and a broadband nature as compared with the noise characteristics in an isothermal air jet.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to review the results of exposure to chemicals and to extremely low frequency(ELF) magnetic fields generated in wafer fabrication operations in the semiconductor industry. Methods: Exposure assessment studies of silicon wafer fab operations in the semiconductor industry were collected through an extensive literature review of articles reported until the end of 2015. The key words used in the literature search were "semiconductor industry", "wafer fab", "silicon wafer", and "clean room," both singly and in combination. Literature reporting on airborne chemicals and extremely low frequency(ELF) magnetic fields were collected and reviewed. Results and Conclusions: Major airborne hazardous agents assessed were several organic solvents and ethylene glycol ethers from Photolithography, arsenic from ion implantation and extremely low frequency magnetic fields from the overall fabrication processes. Most exposures to chemicals reported were found to be far below permissible exposure limits(PEL) (10% < PEL). Most of these results were from operators who handled processes in a well-controlled environment. In conclusion, we found a lack of results on exposure to hazardous agents, including chemicals and radiation, which are insufficient for use in the estimation of past exposure. The results we reviewed should be applied with great caution to associate chronic health effects.
Global interests in RFID are increased and Korean government and companies make an active effort to propagate and spread RFID. Due to the overwhelming advantages of RFID system in comparison with existing bar code system, ripple effects on logistics sector among the utilizing fields of RFID technology are expected to be great, but application of RFID system is lowly progressed unlike the expectation of several experts. Therefore, this research extracts precedent studies on theoretical background, applying fields, promotion condition and domestic/foreign parts of RFID system, factors for operating domestic RFID system and effects and considers the effects of RFID's external variables on easiness and effectiveness of TAM. It confirms the relations of RFID applying effects for companies applying and utilizing RFID and verifies the relations among the effects for application of RFID system, accepting intention of RFID system and applying effects. Based on the results of analysis, it should play a role of good guide for all of companies and institution who will introduce RFID system to all of Korean logistics fields, make policies and systems which promote RFID acceptance nationally and socially and play a role of guide making confident climate for RFID technolog

The objectives of this study were to analyze and compare 24 hrs personal exposure levels of MF at microenvironments such as home, school, educational institute, internet pc game room, transportation, and other places according to time activity patterns using various metrics for children attending the primary schools located near and away from the power lines, and to characterize the major microenvironments and impact factors attributed personal exposure level. The study was carried out for 44 children attending a primary school away from the lines(school A) and 125 children attending a school away from 154 kV power lines(school B), all who aged 12 years and were 6 grade, from July 2003 to December 2003. All participants filled in a questionnaire about characteristics, residence, use of electrical appliances and others. Children wore a small satchel in which EMDEX II and Lite (Enertech, Co. Ltd) and a diary of activity list for period of registration in 20 minutes blocks. All statistical calculations were made with the SAS System, Releas 6.12. The summary of results was presented below. First, about the characteristics of subjects, there no differences between two groups. The subject almost spent about 56 % of their time at home and about 20~25 % of their time at school. Fifty percent of children spent 2 hours at private educational institutes. Second, the personal exposure measurements of children in school B was statistically higher than those of children in school A by various metrics such as arithmetic mean, geometric mean, percentile(5, 25, 50, 75, 95), maximum, rate of change metric, constant field metric. The arithmetic and geometric mean magnetic fields during the time the children were at school B were 0.98 and $0.86{\mu}T$ and were about 23 times higher than those of children were at school A. In conclusion, the significant major determinants of personal exposure level is the distance from the power line to microenvironments.
Human error is one of the major contributors to the accidents. A lot of risk assessment techniques have been developed for prevention of accidents. Nevertheless, most of them were interested in physical factors, because quantitative evaluation of human errors was difficult quantitatively. According to lack of risk assessment techniques about human errors, most of industrial risk assessment for human errors were based on data of accident analysis. In order to develop an effective countermeasure to reduce the risk caused by human errors, a systematic analysis is needed. Generally, risk assessment system is composed of 5 step(classification of work activity, identification of hazards, risk estimation, evaluation and improvement). This study aimed to develop a risk identification technique for human errors that could mainly be applied to industrial fields. In this study, Ergo-HAZOP and Comprehensive Human Error Analysis Technique were used for developing the risk identification technique. In the proposed risk identification technique, Ergo-HAZOP was used for broad-brush risk identification. More critical risks were analysed by Comprehensive Human Error Analysis Technique. In order to verify applicability, the proposed risk identification technique was applied to the work of pile head cutting. As a consequence, extensive hazards were identified and fundamental countermeasures were established. It is expected that much attention would be paid to prevent accidents by human error in industrial fields since safety personnel can easily fint out hazards of human factors if utilizing the proposed risk identification technique.
Fundamental advances in the biotechnologies are exerting a profound influence on the health care, agricultural, industrial chemical, environmental, and other industrial fields. Korean government are now more and more realizing the importance of biotechnology as a main technology for the 21st century. But any technical progress is largely the result of a complex set of relationships among the firms, institutions and others involved in development. So understanding the complexity is very important to make promoting strategies and it is even critical in the field of biotechnology. The reason is that commercialization of research results in biotechnology is strongly related with the national science bases provided by academic and public institutes. And its applicable industrial sectors are very diverse. So it is very important to make a effective collaboration system among many R&D related agents. This article discusses and compares both USA and Japanese framework of national innovation systems in the field of biotechnology. The American Innovation system encourages basic research in the biological sciences, and fosters the creation of small venture firms that focus on the development of novel products. America's peculiar incentive structure, derived from its research and educational system, financial system, and regulatory environment has driven USA labs and firms to the forefront of many biotechnology fields. The Japanese institutional environment in contrast, supported the strategy of building production expertise. Firms were urged to use the new techniques as a way of leapfrogging into a second generation of bio-products, in that cost and production advantages count. But the strategy was not effective as expected and Japanese firms have remained competent but not prominent rivals. The differing situations in USA and Japan with regard to biotechnology have many suggestions for our bioindustry. In the conclusion of this article, we translate USA and Japan's experiences to some suggestions which guide for promoting Korea's biotechnology R&D and commercialization activities.
The purpose of this study is to investigate case studies and industry needs for convergence education in the fields of electronics, software, and automobiles, which are the technical foundations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through the literature review, the convergence education programs focusing on electronics, software, and automobile were derived. The areas were validated by the experts review who consisted of three industry experts and professors in the relevant fields. Domestic and foreign curriculum were investigated to understand the current state of technical convergence education in each field. Industry needs survey for technical convergence education was conducted in cooperation with the Sector Council of Industrial Resources. Research instruments consisted of three parts: needs for technical convergence education, needs for the specific convergence education in the field of electronics, software, and automobile, and opinions on convergence education. A total of 341 participants responded to the questionnaires: 132 in the electronic field, 100 in the software field, and 109 in the automobile field. The industry needs for convergence education were analyzed and implications were suggested. The results of this study are expected to provide a guideline for developing convergence education programs in higher education.

Industrial Revolution means the improvement of productivity through technological innovation and has been a driving force of the whole change of economic system and social structure as the characteristic of technology as the tool of this productivity has changed. Since the first industrial revolution of the 18th century, productivity efficiency has been advanced through three industrial revolutions so far, and this fourth industrial revolution is expected to bring about another revolution of production. In this study, the demand for the introduction of artificial intelligence(AI) technology has been increasing in various business fields due to the rapid development of ICT technology, and the classification of HS(harmonized commodity description and coding system) items has been decided using artificial intelligence technology, which is the core of the fourth industrial revolution. And it is enough to construct HS classification system based on AI technology using inference and deep learning. Performing the HS item classification is not an easy task. Implementation of item classification system using artificial intelligence technology to analyze information of HS item classification which is performed manually by the current person more accurately and without any mistake, And the customs administrations, customs offices, and customs agencies, it is expected to be highly utilized in the innovation of trade practice and the customs administration innovation FTA origin agent.
As science advances in many fields, the task of accommodating all human beings with comfort and safety becomes increasingly complex. The anthropometric data are basis of product design, but most of the anthropometric data for Korean emphasize the anthropological, physiological and engineering points of views. Also due to the scarce of body dimensions needed in designing products, the industrial designers are cautious in applying these data to design products. The purpose of this study was to select and measure the body parts that are necessary for the industrial designers but are scarce in existing data, and to illustrate the human body with measures instead of tables for easy understanding and application to industrial product design. Three hundreds and eighteen males and 260 females of age from 18 to 60 participated for this study. Eighty-two dimensions in standing and seating posture were selected to measure. The front views, side views and some working postures for man and woman are illustrated with measures. This study could provide the most vital data to assist designers in creating products and environments that better accommodate human needs.
