  • In this paper, PLC program for flowing type steam boiler control is presented. The function of the implementation are flowing type steam boiler, PLC control, interpretation of PLC command, and temperature scheme. The flowing type steam boiler approach is based on master-slave control concept. To show validity of the developed PLC program, severial experiments are illustrated.

열매체보일러의 구조해석 (Structural Analysis of Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid Boiler)

  • 본 논문은 열매체(Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid) 보일러의 화재원인을 분석하기 위하여 3차원 자동설계 프로그램인 CATIA를 활용하여 설계하였다. 또한 3차원 유한요소 코드인 ANSYS를 활용하여 설계된 열매체보일러에 대하여 구조해석을 실시하였다. 구조해석을 통하여 열매체보일러의 정상상태와 화재 후의 최대온도(maximum temperature), 최대응력(maximum stress), 최대변형율(maximum strain) 등을 구하였다.

Characterization of Microstructure and Thermal property of Ash Deposits on Fire-side Boiler Tube

  • Ash deposition of heat exchange boiler, caused mainly by accumulation of particulate matter, reduces heat transfer of the boiler system. Heat and mass transfer through porous media such as ash deposits mainly depend on the microstructure of deposited ash. Therefore, in this study, we investigated microstructural and thermal properties of the ash deposited on the boiler tube. Samples for this research were obtained from the fuel economizer tube in an industrial waste incinerator. To characterize microstructures of the ash deposit samples, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and BET analysis were employed. The results revealed that it had a porous structure with small particles mostly of less than a few micrometers; the contents of Ca and S were 19.3, 22.6% and 18.5, 18.7%, respectively. Also, the results showed that it consisted mainly of anhydrite ($CaSO_4$) crystals. - The thermal conductivities of the ash deposit sample obtained from the economizer tube in industrial waste incinerator were measured to be 0.63 and 0.54 W/mK at $200^{\circ}C$, which were about 100 times less than the thermal conductivity (61.32 W/mK) of the boiler tube itself, indicating that ash deposition on the boiler tube was closely related to a decrease in boiler heat transfer.

A Study on the Corrosion and Degradation of Boiler Tubes Steel in Fossil Power Plant

  • It was analyzed the causes of boiler tube rupture due to a degradation and corrosion on the boiler tubes in fossil power plant. The experiments were carried out among samples taken from the operating facilities. The result were analyzed based on experimental results from mechanical strength, microstructure observation, and hardness measurement in order to determine the cause of local rupture on boiler tubes. In general, 2.25Cr-1Mo steel generates carbides, it is coarsened, its ductility and strength abruptly decreased as degradation is in progress, In order to confirm this phenomenon, we observed changes of the mount of Cr and Mo of carbide by carrying out EDX chemical composition analysis. The amount of Cr and Mo in the degraded material or service exposed material gradually increased the amount of Mo but initially they were almost maintained at the same amount. Furthermore, we observed that the carbide become coarsened both in the grain and at the grain boundary. Tensile test was carried out to measure a material hardness and to recognize a drop-off of hardness. Overall result for tensile strength and hardness turned out to be lower than new material and mechanical strength and hardness was degraded as the material degradation was in progress.

산업용 보일러의 질소산화물 제어를 위한 SNCR 적용 연구 (Study of SNCR Application to Industrial Boiler for NOx Control)

  • 본 연구는 향후 산업적으로 질소산화물 규제가 중요한 문제로 대두될 만한 산업용 보일러를 대상으로 수행하였다. 일반적으로 SNCR 방법의 산업용 보일러로의 적용은 혼합을 위한 충분한 체류시간을 제공하지 못한다는 점에서 적합하지 않은 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 SNCR 장치의 산업용 보일러 적용가능성을 조사하기 위한 것이다. 구체적으로 연료로 중유를 사용하는 시간당 스팀 발생량 40톤 규모의 산업용 보일러를 연구 대상으로 하였다. 사업용 보일러의 수치 해석을 위한 3-D 직교좌표계 프로그램에는 난류 유동, 난류 연소반응, NOx의 생성과 환원제와의 반응을 통한 소멸반응 등을 포함하고 있다. 또한 개발된 코드에는 Lagrangian 방법에 의한 입자궤적 프로그램이 포함되어 있고, 주입구에서 접선방향으로의 선회효과를 계산에 의해 고려하였다. 선회버너 효과를 고려한 결과 단화염이 생성되었으며 NOx 환원반응에 적합한 온도 영역의 증가로 인해 NOx 제거효율도 향상되었다. 실험결과와의 비교를 통하여 프로그램을 검증하였으며, 계산결과 혼합용 공기 주입을 통한 환원제와의 혼합 향상을 통해서 SNCR 방법의 산업용 보일러 적용가능성을 확인하였다.

  • The application of solar energy, in the field of alternative energy, was on the increase tendency. In the case of advanced nations, through continuous R&D, solar-heat hot-water-boiler with high efficiency has been used for the house and the industrial process on business, advanced nations on reached up the experimental stage of solar generation system. But the actual circumstance of the domestic has been not accomplished the popularization of solar-heat hot-water-boiler and the settlement of it which is the fundamental stage of the solar energy usage. This trouble, the domestic was flooded with small enterprise for producing solar-heat hot-water-boiler, was caused by the popularization and the production without verification of performance. To supply the monitoring program for evaluating solar-heat hot-water-boiler, this research was purpose to improve the technical development of the enterprise for producing solar-heat hot-water-boiler and served as an aid f3r the enlargement and the popularization on solar energy.

  • The thesis examined the charactcri:stlC of pollutants exhausted from LNG facilities. So, combustion gas and concentration of greenhouse gas exhausted from gas boiler for home use, furnace facilities, electric power facilities, boiler for industrial use and boiler for heating fueled LNG is measured. And the exhaust factor of pollutants is produced by classify of pollutants in detail. And this exhaust factor is compared and investigated with data of a foreign nations.

Retrofit of Analog Boiler Control Systems with Digital Control Systems in a Thermal Power Plant

  • This paper presents the case that the existing analog control systems were retrofitted with digital DCS(Distributed Control System)s for boiler unit in thermal power plant. Replacement of existing worn-out or obsolete analog control systems has been considered. Replacement of existing analog control systems with another analog control systems has lots of difficulties in maintaining the systems due to being out of stock. Due to those difficulties, existing analog control systems have been retrofitted with digital DCSs in many industrial sites. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) accomplished the project that retrofitted analog control systems with the developed DCSs for boiler unit in middle-scale coal-fired thermal power plant. The benefits of an upgrade to digital control include a increase of reliability due to system redundancy, ease of modifying the control logic and the parameters of function block, ease of maintenance due to available spare parts, improvement of information display, ease of modifying MMI(Man Machine Interface) displays, a increase in system availability, and improvement of control performance. This paper describes how to use the parameters of existing analog controllers, the implementation of digital PID controller, control system configuration for boiler unit in thermal power plant, some boiler control loops, control result during commissioning, and the comparison of boiler characteristic test data after retrofitting with the existing test data.

연소로 효율증진을 위한 on-line 세정 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study of On-line Cleaning Method for Increasing Efficiency in a Combustor)

  • 액상 중유 연료를 사용하는 고용량 증기 보일러에서 발생되어 연소기기 내부에 침적되는 슈트, 슬래그, 크랭커, 회분, 산화물의 on-line 세정을 위한 세정제 제조에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 액상 중유 연료를 사용하는 보일러 및 가열로에 생성되는 슈트, 슬래그, 크랭커, 회분, 산화물을 제거하는 기존 기술은 보일러 및 가열로의 가동 중단 후 작업자들에 의한 기계적인 처리를 통하여 침적물을 제거하는 기술을 사용하고 있다. 기존 기술을 대치할 수 있고 보일러의 중단이 없는 상태에서 침적물을 세정할 수 있는 세정제의 최적 조성을 도출하였다. 질산암모늄과 질산마그네슘의 혼합물이 주 세정제로 도출되었으며, 각종 전이금속 화합물에 의한 영향을 영향을 연구하여, 세정에 의한 부식을 방지할 수 있으며, 연소효율의 증대를 얻을 수 있는 전이금속화합불 첨가제를 도출하였다.
