  • This study suggests systematic procedures to improve safety policies on prevention of industrial accidents associated with industrial machines and devices. Specifically, new method of cause analysis of industrial accidents associated with industrial machines and devices is suggested and the related accident data are re-analyzed. Effectiveness of direct safety regulations such as safety certification, self-declaration of conformity, safety device regulation and safety inspection of industrial machines and devices are also analyzed. Based on those analysis results, transition from the current user-oriented safety device regulation to more balanced direct regulations on both manufacturer and user is suggested. Together with severity and frequency of industrial accidents, unit severity and unit frequency need to be taken into account to further assess the risk associated with a particular industrial machine or device. Balance between safety regulations will be realized by proper adjustment of lists of safety certification and inspection, and certification and inspection standards. This will also guarantee the maximum benefit over cost in such safety regulations.

  • If you examine the Industrial Disaster Analysis Content that occurs every year in the small and medium enterprise, industrial disaster occurs because of manager's lack of safety and worker's unprepared safety education. Therefore effective safety education systems are needed to offer adequate knowledge and technology to the workers. On this research, to give an effective education way to decrease industrial disaster we administered to the workers who are in charge of 300 workplace in Incheon area to search actual condition of industrial disaster and to disclose a link between industrial disaster and industrial safety education. We put in effect on frequency study and examined x2 using SPSSWIN 10.0. On the research, the results shows that the industrial safety education and training are in effect regularly and the satisfaction are low. But the manager's satisfactions are high through safety education. So it shows that we need to find a way to put in effect safety education to satisfy the workers.

  • Inhaled halogen compound was examined through micronucleus tests and toxicity tests using SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats with repeated dosages for six hours a day, five days a week, during four weeks. In four-week repeated exposure, no specific sign caused by the $CF_3I$ compound was observed on the clinical symptoms, body weight variation, feed consumption, and urinalysis data in the testing groups with reference to the control group. In hematological and biochemical blood tests of the testing groups, the significant, but in their normal ranges, value dependencies of glucose, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and etc., on the halogen carbohydride concentration was observed. In histo-pathological tests, no specific lesion or concentration dependent change due to the $CF_3I$ compound dosage was observed in both sexes of the female and male in the tested animals. But, micronucleus tests on marrow cells extracted from the tested animals which were repeatedly exposed in the $CF_3I$ compound during four weeks, the frequencies of micronuclei were significantly increased dose-dependently compared to the control groups.

  • The safety management of the small sized enterprise is very important to decrease industrial disaster in the area of industry. On this research, to give the effective measures to decrease industrial disaster, we administered the workplaces in Kyunggi area to search actual condition of industrial disaster and to disclose a link between industrial and industrial safety management. The results show industrial accident characteristics of small sized enterprises in Kyunggi area. So it is shows that we need to put in effective safety political measures to small sized enterprises.

  • The study is conducted in order to establish validity of industrial safety field's neo-qualification composition by suggesting reengineering procedure of NCS based industrial safety field's qualifying occupational plan. Industrial safety fields are first classified into great classification which are environment energy safety, and then into sub-classification which are industrial safety management, industrial health management, and nondestructive test. NCS based neo-qualification plan is deveopled into progress as following steps; First, planning NCS neo-qualification system. Second, presenting work education combined program certification standard. Third, developing NCS based neo-qualification assessment standard. Fourth, developing work education qualification prototype problem. The process of qualification plan was composed with Worksheet 14 and with 4phase being completing summary of each section, certification and development of assessment standard, and development of prototype problem. As a result, Industrial safety manager was redesigned into Industrial sfety manager and Construction Safety Manager, and Occupational Health Care Manager was redesigned into Occupational Health Care Manager and Industrial Health Manager. This study, in conclusion, suggests development of qualifying occupation that could be applied to the integrated management system and development of future industrial safety field's specialized neo-qualifying occupation.

  • This study focuses on the issue of control performance of safety budget for preventing and reducing industrial accidents in Korea. The effect of safety budget such as industrial accident prevention fund on the safety performance is statistically examined first. The role and control performance of industrial accident prevention fund is particularly addressed to reduce the related accidents. The effectiveness of the industrial accident prevention fund-industrial accident relationship is then explained with a simple PI control mechanism.

  • Background: The purpose of the work is to develop a system that allows processing of information for analysis and industrial risk management, to monitor the level of industrial safety and to perform necessary measures aimed at the prevention of accidents, casualties, and development of professional diseases for effective management of industrial safety at hazardous industrial sites. Methods: Risk assessment of accidents and incidents is based on expert evaluations. Based on the lists of criteria parameters and their possible values, provided by the experts, a unified information and analytical database is compiled, which is included in the final interrogation questionnaires. Risk assessment of industrial injuries and occupational diseases is based on statistical methods. Results: The result of the research is the creation of Guidelines for risk management on hazardous industrial sites of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Guidelines determine the directions and methods of complex assessment of the state of industrial safety and labor protection and they could be applied as methodological basis at the development of preventive measures for emergencies, casualties, and incidents at hazardous industrial sites. Conclusion: Implementation of the information-analytical system of risk level assessment allows to analyze the state of risk of a possible accident at industrial sites, make valid management decisions aimed at the prevention of emergencies, and monitor the effectiveness of accident prevention measures.
