  • In this paper, we investigate the influence of factors on the firm, industry, and country levels on the new product development performance (NPD) of manufacturing firms in advanced economies. The resource-based view, industrial organization theory and institutional theory have established that firm-, industry- and country-level factors are all relevant for the NPD of firms. However, little is known about the relative importance of factors at the three different levels across countries, as prior studies on firms' NPD have focused on specific countries and levels of analysis. Our analysis of survey data from 1,437 manufacturing firms in nine advanced OECD countries shows that while firm-level factors are generally better predictors of firms' innovativeness than either industry- or country-level factors, the results strongly differ across countries, indicating that the relative importance of antecedents of innovativeness is country-specific rather than universal.

  • Business Rules are formal statements about the data and processes of an enterprise. They present projections of the organization's constraints and ways of working on their supporting information systems. Therefore, their collection, structuring and organization should be central activities within information systems. In an enterprise, business rules are used to represent certain aspects of a business domain (static rules) or business policy (dynamic rules). Hence, regarding problem domains in the organization, business rules are classified into two groups: static and dynamic business rules. The paper introduces a new concept of business rules, Extended Dynamic Business Rule (EDBR) which contains the results of the occurrence of business rule's action. The focus of this paper is in the organizing, defining and modeling of such business rules using Mineau's approach. Mineau's approach is an extension of Sowa's Conceptual Graph theory.

The theoretical background of this study utilized organizational change management, the fourth industrial revolution, technological innovation, and voluntary acceptance. This research method used structural equations, cluster analysis, and analysis of variance. According to the results of the study, the organizational implement system, organizational leadership, and organizational operating system provided a positive effect on the voluntary technology acceptance of organization members. The voluntary technology acceptance provided a positive effect on the effectiveness of individual task innovation. However, organizational institutionalization among the independent variables did not affect voluntary acceptance. All independent variables except the organizational institutionalization had a partial mediating effect in the mediating effect verification. Meanwhile, The three groups by the cluster analysis were classified as new technology apathy, preference, and anxiety groups, and differences appeared among groups in the importance of organizational change variables. The organizational implement system in the technology apathy group and the organizational operating system in the technology anxiety group have a positive effect on voluntary technology acceptance. The technology preference group shows that a positive effect on organizational leadership and a negative effect on organizational institutionalization for voluntary technology acceptance. • An enterprise must achieve both a sound organizational management and effective development of individual members while maintaining a balanced approach. Relative to this, there is a research field dubbed as Organizational Activation. However, there is a necessity to clarify various factors required for organizational activation and to propose a methodology for organization management. This study is an attempt to create a model from an organization-a University Seminar Class-and agents therein-the Students and the Teacher-with an assumed goal of advancing together toward the students' self-growth. The model is expressed on two dimensional planes with vectors through a computer. Vectors are composed of the growth, demand, member, hindrance and student vectors. These vectors provide data to the mathematical model for a simulation. Each agent provided the individual information from the questionnaire-conducted to 169 university students. From the analysis data and extrapolations, this study was able to craft a guideline for future seminar activity. It also examines the possibility of assimilation of the Questionnaire Approach and that of the Computational Organization Theory approach. Finally, this study discusses the future possibility of application of the Assimilated Method for research and development, and for project management.

  • For the past few decades functionalism have dominated the epistemological arena in organizational science. However, the positivist-inspired movement of functionalism have proved inadequate for explaining the radical transformations of organizations. During the last decade dialectical theory has been starting to be heard. This paper identifies the dialectic as the unifying principle of a broad and diffuse tradition of thought. Beginning with a excavation of the philosophical foundations of dialectical theory in the thought of Kant, Hegel, and Marx, this paper goes through the various twists and the turns of the dialectic in the major twentieth-century movements of neomarxism, phenomenology, and critical theory. Also, this paper presents the implications of the dialectical approach in organization science. The discipline of organization theory has been imprisoned by its functionalism, therefore, stimulating an awareness through which it can begin to set itself free has become imperative. Dialectical theory, be cause it is essentially a process perspective, focuses on the dimension currently missing in much organizational thought, It opens analysis to the processes through which actors carve out and stabilize a sphere to the processes through which actors carve out and stabilize a sphere of rationality and those through which such rationalized spheres dissolve.

  • An analysis of Airbnb and Kozaza will show how valuable and rare resource can have an impact on company performances. Airbnb applied the sharing economy platform, and this business model had disrupted the hospitality industry. Thus, this paper will investigate a Korean company called Kozaza which had benchmarked Airbnb. Furthermore, it will apply the theory of VRIO framework, which consists of how valuable, rare, costly to imitate (imitability), and organization (exploited by the organization) to find competitiveness of Kozaza in the hospitality industry. Thus, it will attempt to show that Kozaza's business model of utilizing the unused resource of Hanok (traditional Korean house) and partnerships with Hanokstay, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Soul Tourism Organization and others have enhanced their resource and capability to strengthen their business model. Furthermore, this research will explore how Kozaza can competitively be successful in the future.
