  • Most of the least cost transportation network design problems are frequently formulated as the minimum spanning arborescence problems in directed networks with bitype are costs. These costs are classified whether the arc is included in the path from the root to a specified node over a given spanning arborescence. We prove that this problem is NP-hard, and develop a polynomial time algorithm for acyclic networks. The probelm in acyclic networks is initially formulated as 0-1 integer programming. Next, we prove that the 0-1 relaxed linear programming has an integral optimum solution by complementary slackness conditions. In this paper, we present an $O(n^2)$ algorithm based on a shortest path algorithm.

  • As low-power and low-rate WSNs are being widely used for industrial applications, the scheduling of such applications becomes a critical issue to guarantee meeting the stringent requirements of determinism and tight latencies. This paper studies the link scheduling problem for real-time industrial applications in time-slotted channel hopping (TSCH) networks. We propose a heuristic algorithm for centralized link scheduling referred to as path-collision aware least laxity first (PC-LLF) algorithm, which dynamically prioritizes the packets based on the laxity time to the end-to-end deadlines and the amount of collisions that messages might deal with along their designated paths to the destination device. We propose schedulability analysis of real-time applications scheduled under our prioritization approach over TSCH networks, based on the literature on real-time schedulability analysis of multiprocessors and distributed systems. We show that our methodology provides an improved schedulability condition with respect to the existing approaches. Performance evaluation studies quantify to quantify the performance of our proposed approach under a variety of scenarios.

  • This paper presents an automatic inspection of defects in semiconductor images. We devise a statistical method to find defects on homogeneous background from the observation that it has a log-normal distribution. If computer aided design (CAD) data is available, we use it to construct a signed distance function (SDF) and change the pixel values so that the average of pixel values along the level curve of the SDF is zero, so that the image has a homogeneous background. In the absence of CAD data, we devise a hybrid method consisting of a model-based algorithm and two neural networks. The model-based algorithm uses the first right singular vector to determine whether the image has a linear or complex structure. For an image with a linear structure, we remove the structure using the rank 1 approximation so that it has a homogeneous background. An image with a complex structure is inspected by two neural networks. We provide results of numerical experiments for the proposed methods.

  • This paper reviews basic concepts for Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) applied to the initial value problems for ordinary differential equations. In particular, using only basic calculus, we derive the error estimates where the error functions (the differences between the true solution and the approximations expressed by neural networks) are dominated by training loss functions. Numerical experiments are conducted to validate our error estimates, visualizing the relationship between the error and the training loss for various first-order differential equations and a second-order linear equation.

  • The SLA (Service Level Agreement) is once determined between service provider and users in B3G networks so that the network service must be provided as QoS management. Here, the network situation is changed as the time flow, and the service environment is also altered. Hence, dynamic QoS management scheme should be considered. In this paper, we propose a handover scheme for dyanamic QoS as the network situation in B3G networks. The heterogeneous networks can be used for dynamic QoS management in B3G networks.

  • The NGN(Next-Generation Network) structure has been considered from various points of view as all If wireless-wired integration network and its performance is one of the main issue in these days. In this paper, various wired and wireless integrated networks with voice service are designed and simulated to obtain problems and factors affects the network performance using OPnet simulator. The characteristics only showed in the wired and wireless integrated networks are measured and analyzed compared with the single networks such as a wired or wireless networks. Especially, in the wired and wireless integrated networks showed degrading performance even if there are few transmissions in the network and furthermore, the various networks of increasing numbers of the nodes and transmission are simulated and evaluated.

  • In this paper, we propose the fuzzy neural networks based on fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm. Typically, the generation of fuzzy rules have the problem that the number of fuzzy rules exponentially increases when the dimension increases. To solve this problem, the fuzzy rules of the proposed networks are generated by partitioning the input space in the scatter form using FCM clustering algorithm. The premise parameters of the fuzzy rules are determined by membership matrix by means of FCM clustering algorithm. The consequence part of the rules is expressed in the form of polynomial functions and the learning of fuzzy neural networks is realized by adjusting connections of the neurons, and it follows a back-propagation algorithm. The proposed networks are evaluated through the application to nonlinear process.

  • Recently, wireless sensor networks have become increasingly interesting areas over extensive application fields such as military, ecological, and health-related areas. Almost sensor networks have mission-critical tasks that requires very high security. Therefore, extensive work has been done for securing sensor networks from outside attackers, efficient cryptographic systems, secure key management and authorization, but little work has yet been done to protect these networks from inside threats. This paper proposed an method to select which nodes should activate their idle nodes as detectors to be able to watch all packets in the sensor network. Suggested method is modeled as optimization equation, and heuristic Greedy algorithm based simulation results are presented to verify my approach.

  • A detailed database of waste heat is built to propose energy exchange networks to recover waste energy in Pohang Steel Industrial Complex. A visualized technique is used to figure out the status of waste heat energy and to suggest potential energy exchange networks. Several energy networks are proposed in terms of temperature level, the amount of available energy, distance, and construction cost. A simple economical assessment is applied to the energy exchange networks which have higher economic potential. Their average payback period is estimated to be 2.8 years. The total amount of energy saving by constructing the proposed energy exchange networks is 4,778 TOE per year. It corresponds to 11,160 ton $CO_2$ reduction with the assumption that the recycled waste energy replaces the use of LNG in energy-demanding companies.

  • Industrial IoT has much interested in wireless mesh networks (WMNs) due to cost effectiveness and coverage. According to the advance in caching technology, WMNs have been researched to overcome the throughput degradation of multihop environment. However, there is few researches of cache power consumption models for WMNs. In particular, a wired line based cache power consumption model in content-centric networks is not still proper to WMNs. In this paper, we split the amount of cache power from the idle power consumption of CPU, and then the cache hit ratio proportional power consumption model (CHR-model) is proposed. The proposed CHR-model provides more accurate power consumption in WMNs, compared with the conventional cache power efficiency based consumption model (CPE-model). The proposed CHR-model can provide a reference model to improve energy-efficient cache operation for Industrial IoT.
